Answer This Question
A: We're happy to clear things up, Pete. While our Rust-Oleum Varathane Water-Based and Oil-Based Polyurethanes provide the same performance, the oil-based finish dries with an amber hue while the water-based dries to a crystal clear finish. The water-based also has a lower odor easier to clean application process.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out. Once Rust-Oleum Varathane Oil-Based Polyurethane has fully cured for at least 7 days painter's tape can be applied over the surface. We recommend first testing to ensure the finish has fully cured to make sure not to lift the finish.
