A: An electric brake should stop a saw blade in 2 seconds. That's the point of the safety feature. You would lose s finger or worse in 4 seconds.
by|Jan 5, 2019
A: Yes it has electric brake. I have 2 of the most highly recognized circular saws and they do not stop in 1-2 seconds. I have a very highly recognized miter saw with electric brake and it does not stop until 4-5 seconds.

A: I have not noticed that it has an electric break. It does spin for a few seconds after I let go of the power switch also.
by|May 5, 2023
A: The brake only works when you lift it completely to the full up position. The blade will spin until then.

A: There is a release on the back side.
by|May 4, 2023
A: There is a device that is spring loaded on the right side of the blade up high that you have to pull out and turn to allow use of the saw. It is also used in the locked position when you wish to transport the saw to another location. Using the lock allows you to pick the saw up by the handle on top for transport.

A: Yes, but I wouldn't buy it. I bought one and it broke down less than 2 weeks after I bought it and I'm just home owner DYI guy. The clutch went out and it wouldn't cut a miter through a 1X4 without bogging down.

A: Yes, but like I've said I wouldn't buy it. I'm returning mine because the clutch went out after 2 weeks.

A: The hold down works on the left side, when moved to the right the motor hits it so it really isn't useable on that side.
