Q:How many boards to build 5x7
by|Jun 13, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  11, but you’ll need to cut back from 8’ to 7’. This caused waste, but you also don’t have to have a joint in the middle of the deck either.

      Answer This Question

A:  Don't use pressure treated in the house, especially the bedroom. They leech cancer-causing chemicals. Using other kiln dried pine, sure. I used 2x4's framed for a loft bed.

A:  This wood is treated with Micronized Copper Azole (CCA) and IS SAFE for food from raised gardens. However, wood treated with Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) can leach *toxic* Arsenic into plants and IS NOT safe for food from raised gardens.

A:  Everything I have read says not to use treated lumber for actual gardens due to the chemicals. Cedar is the wood everyone recommends for garden beds, raised or ground level!
