Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot about the Whirlpool 36 in. Concave Glass Wall Mount Range Hood in Stainless Steel.
On page 5 of the Installation Guide found under Info & Guides. It will show the exact information you are looking for, with a vented installation the max ceiling height should not exceed 9'5" and for a Non-Vented installation the max ceiling height should not exceed 9'9".

Q:Is it possible to remove the glass shield to tile the wall on both sides and the bottom of the vent? How easy is it to do that? Is the glass shield fixed so it fits up to the wall or does it slide forward?
