Questions and Answers for XTEND+CLIMB 15.5 ft. Aluminum Telescoping Extension Ladder (19.5 Reach Height), 250 lbs. Load Capacity ANSI Type I Duty Rating
A: When retracting any of our Xtend+Climb telescoping ladders, our design focus is SAFETY! Core Distribution, Inc. has a patented design which allows each rung to close slowly. The design is similar to a dampening system which slows the retraction speed for each individual rung when retracting your ladder down to the closed position. In addition, if you retract the ladder down in a systematic way, The Xtend+Climb ladders have an additional patented safety design which allows for a gap to remain on the rung you are retracting which prevents your hand and finger from being pinched. If you would like us to send you a tips sheet for retracting the ladder down and for maintenance tips, please email us at info@core-distribution.com

Q:Are the couplings designed to keep water out?
by|Dec 23, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The couplings are not designed to keep water out, BUT The remedy when the ladder gets wet is
to leave the ladder extended and let all the water evaporate. If you need to retract the ladder down for transportation- you may do so, but when you can, fully extend the ladder in a dry area to let the water evaporate. Letting the water evaporate prevents damage to the damping system. The length of time for the water to evaporate will depend on how wet the ladder got. One way to accelerate the evaporation is to apply denatured alcohol. A preventive suggestion is to lubricate the stiles where the couplings meet the stiles with a dry silicone spray to prevent a vapor seal from occurring when the water enters the couplings/stiles. Please note dry silicone evaporates over time and will need to be reapplied as a routine maintenance.
