Q:My daughter wants black out shades to keep all light out to sleep in the mornings. HOw can we achieve this? Does it matter if they are inside mount or outside mount?

Answer This Question
A: To achieve the best blackout, we recommend to mount above and outside of the window frame. We recommend to measure your window frame opening width and add 3-6 inches to that width to find the size shade to order. When choosing a size, please remember that the fabric panel width will always be 1-1/4" less that the size you purchase.

Answer This Question
A: Carin, Thank you for your question. Typically we would recommend a motorized roller shade for hard to reach places. For best blackout abilities, we would recommend an outside mount shade that is wider than the window itself. In you case, at least 83 in W and 44 in H. iFit roller shades are currently offering at 73 in W maximum, although we are working diligently to expand our product line.

Answer This Question
A: Hi Victoria, You are purchasing the total width of the roller shade. For example 68.5 W will measure 68.5 inches in total width, including the hardware and brackets. The fabric panel is 1-1/4" less than the total width , in this case 67-1/4". We recommend a 68.5 W to guarantee a good fit. The length is adjustable up to 74" L so it will fit well. Thanks for your question.
