These planks are very pretty. They show great on our living room accent wall. They are quite thin but fit together well because they are tongue and groove. I love the fact that there are actual knots to these and accent well on the wall. We will leave it all natural and if the sweet smell of cedar begins to wane we will simply sand it lightly and the scent will return!

Great product looks beautiful when finished! We did most the house with it as you can see from the pictures. Its 100+ years old so this works well for the walls because they aren’t flat or straight and you can bend the planks. I used an 18 gauge brad nailer for all of it and have not sealed it. Make sure to be patient its worth it at the end and keep your recipe you will need to return some because they warp when opened. Make sure they are in stacks of 6 to get a refund.

The reviews were mixed on this item. After watching a couple of YouTube videos and for the price I pulled the trigger and purchased. The plans were easy to work with. Thin so be careful handing, as they can be easily cracked. I wanted a gray and white focus wall so I used a gray wood stain and then a basic white paint (added water to the white to get white wash). Turned out exactly the way I wanted. Tools are needed to make it a quick and painless task. I used a miter saw, finishing nail gun, carpenter knife (and paint tools if painting). Tip - I pre-painted the planks before install. Takes time, but allows you to customize each piece which for me is what I wanted. I also cut the planks for a staggered look. Overall very happy with the product and plan to order more for another focus wall.

Overall great value and look for DIY project. Just make sort them before use.

I'm gonna give it four stars. It could get 5 or maybe a 3 though. I read every review of this product, twice, before purchasing it. For me, and I know wood, have proper tools, etc. I give it a solid 4 and a half stars. Reason why is that it is real wood, it's beautiful and easy to work with if you know how. That being said... I put this up in a huge single chevron design on our back porch ceiling, over 340 sq ft. Applied these over typical exterior siding. Over that 340 sq ft, I only had about 4 full boards I deemed unusable. A few other boards, I would cut a bad end off of or just cut to the bad spot. That was few and far between though. My shipment contained only two date codes. It all looked the same. Only really two odd things ya gotta be aware of with this product. First is, not all boards are exact same width, some packs were 3 1/2", some were 3 5/8". Date code didn't matter on that. So this isn't a huge problem once discovered. Make one run at 3 1/2", another run at 3 5/8". Easy enough, can't tell once up. Second is that... there is a rough side and a "mostly" smooth side. The smooth isn't perfect, you'll see. Again not bad, just real wood doing it's thing. So look at and feel each board before just putting up. The other stuff with this product is kind of normal to me... Tongue and groove this thin is fragile. Some tongues not quite full, some groove edges a little weak. Take your time and I don't think you will have much waste with this. Some of the knots, they filled with what I'd call an odd colored filler, so I cut around them. Some boards have a crown and some are cupped inward or outward on the smooth sides. Again real wood, just gotta look at it. If you're looking for baby butt smooth surface perfection, look elsewhere. Open the packs up, let them air out and acclimate for a bit, check them for width and run it up. This wood you don't wanna paint, it is beautiful. I'd recommend just a clear waterproofing sealer, depending on sun load. I ordered much more than my usual percentage for waste based on previous reviews and I returned over a 100 sq ft. unopened. I don't usually put pics, but this came out nice IMHO, lots of compliments on it so far. Thought a pic might help someone really choose this or not. Picture taken after cleaning with wood prep wash and two coats of clear waterproof coating applied. Unfinished it is a bit more pale, but still beautiful wood. Four stars.

Good quality product, easy to install and looks great. It made our bay window area really look sharp. The cedar smells nice. This is the 2nd room we've used this product in and are happy with the results. We are going to do a walk-in closet later with this same product.

This planking is attractive, versatile, affordable, easy to work with and accepts stain and poly very well or can be used in it's raw form. I used it to horizontally to finish the ceiling cut out around my skylight 15 years ago without any finishing top coat and it has held up perfectly and only become more attractive with age Most recently I have used it to make vertical wainscotting in my refinished stairwell. I used stain and polyurethane to match my new laminate steps and I must say, even for someone with my limited experience, it came out flawlessly. It's easy to cut and attach. I used matching finishing nails over furring strips and the cedar hides them well with the use of a nail punch. I love the knotty appearance, but you do have to make sure to vary your plank selection as the closer together the planks are in the package, the more the knot pattern tends to resemble each other. I do recommend getting extra for the occasional bad cut or measurement but at this price it is easy to stomach. I've enjoyed working with this fine smelling product and plan to use it again in my home for future wainscotting projects and of coarse Home Depot is where I will be purchasing it.

First of all, don't be fooled into believing this wood is cedar. The pictures do not represent the true color of the wood; which might I add is China Fir. It is very light in color, and has an odor of turpentine. I have read several articles about this wood specie and it does have similar characteristics of Cedar, however it is not. I have been working with the wood for several days now, the odor has dissipated and it really is a pleasure to work with. It tools very easily, takes a nail relatively well without having to drill. Be careful around the edges, as some of the boards have defects and can be concealed until cutting or looking at it closer. I have worked through nearly 500 of the 720 boards I received and my non usable pile is reasonably small. For the price the wood is a good deal. Enjoy

I purchased this product for a kitchen ceiling. I would never use this product again. The tongues on all of the boards were fragile and barely excepted an 18 gauge nail. You had to shoot high on the shoulder of the tongue to avoid breaking the tongue altogether which left exposed nail holes. In addition, all the boards were cupped in opposite directions from the smooth side, which made the butt and connections very uneven. In addition, many of the boards had broken or missing tongue sections. And of the 400 ft.² that I purchased over half of the boards were warped, and we’re difficult to get the tongues into the grooves. Never again.

The material was great but way too much. I used your measure guide and you told me the amount to get. I went to bring back the un used material and they would not accept it. It was still in the package. My question is had I only needed 1 box and a third you are telling me that I would still have to pay for 2 boxes with all the left over? Ridiculous! Not Happy

I called about this before i bought it they assured me it was 3 packs of 18 boards come to find out its 3 packs of 6 boards that only ads up to 18 boards total. You can buy 5 packs of 6 for less than these 3 packs will cost you this is completely misleading and maybe the people at home depot should know the actual amount of boards that come in this pack do not waste your money on this just go buy the single packs of 6.

It’s thin and the grove can crack and bend into the grove and makes it really hard for you to connect it.

The tongue is to thin and splits or deforms while trying to piece together. Label states 2 coats of paint products front and back. Very unsatisfied with this product.

Excellent product the quality was perfect I've installed 1/3 or my order and no blemishes yet. Only 1 issue I ordered 21 boxes of 3 and only received 20.not sure who to email?
