Tape works as expected and repels water well. For the people complaining about the little white pieces of paper when pulling the label off the roll, don't peel the label off. The tape unrolls just fine with it still on. Just punch a hole in the middle of the label and then remove the scotch tape going around the roll and you are good to go.

Exact sizing. Sticks great to any surfaces. It really isn't that hard to start taping!

Sticks well even to used boards, never used before but it seems like a good thing to use when making a deck.

This tape is beautiful. When they say it’s black they mean it … beautiful color throughout. I tried removing the color with a lot of methods, all to no avail. I would have preferred a fuscia tone but the black will do.

It was difficult to remove the backing from the joist tape. Good product otherwise.

I can’t give it 5 stars because the packaging sticks to the edges of the product which makes a million tiny pieces of rubbish when trying to unwrap it. It’s a great product otherwise. Hopefully it will extend the life of my deck’s substructure.

The product works as advertised but its packaging is problematic. When the plastic wrapping is removed the label (with the picture, information, etc.) sticks to the roll of tape and is a pain to remove. The manufacturer should spend a couple more pennies and replace the label with a material that will easily separate from the tape. Time is money and we shouldn’t have to waste time removing bits of shredded paper from the tape.

Excellent product! Strong adhesive sticks to the top of the joists well. A problem to look out for is to make sure the you don't pull too much of the backing tape and allow the joist tape to stick to itself. It's almost impossible to separate when it sticks to it self! Highly recommended to be used under composite decking to prevent joist rot and decking fasteners from loosening up and pulling out. Especially useful as my joists are full of screw holes from the old pressure treated decking that was removed.

So far so good. Anxious to see the long term benefits of joist tape. Hope to live to see it? In the meantime, it does a great job of hiding the bare joists between the composite deck boards.

Product is excellent - adhesion is great, especially after the sun warms the glue. Packing not so much - the paper wrapping sticks to the tape leaving a messy edge. Also great that it’s stocked so ordering is not required.

The product seems very good but it needs to be wider to extend over the edge of the joist as opposed to the current 1.5 inches which for most joists which are 1.625" leaves a little edge uncovered and that's if you have it exactly centered. If it were 1.75" it would have a little overhang and allow for missing the center of the joist when applying.

As usual nobody in the store knew what this was or where it was stocked! I had to use my phone and HD website to find it and prove to the staff that they even carried it. There are so few people on their staff that ever wielded a hammer or fastened a screw; and they really seem ok with the ignorance.as for the tape it was what I needed in the right amount.

Easy to handle and install along deck joists. Although it is expensive, you’ll pay even more for a different brand at another box store. In the long run this is critical step in prolonging the life of your deck joists from rot.

Great product and helps me sleep better knowing I did all I could to protect our deck but a little spendy

Installed easily over a pair of 2x10's. Seems like it should do what it was made for.

Worked great on the deck stringers I have that are supporting a deck over the water. Stuck very well on a dry board, stayed stuck for several days in the hot sun until we got to the decking. Well worth it
