I actually had the plans for a bench that converted into a picnic table. I had read the instructions, and it looked like it was going to be a difficult job, but the final result would be worth it. When I saw these units, I ordered them immediately. It took about a half hour to put each one of them together, for a total of 1 hour spent on this. I wouldn't be able to go to Home Depot to get the lumber in that amount of time. Everybody who sees these are blown away. I keep them set up as benches, and when we get a large group around our pool, it converts to a picnic table in 30 seconds. I purposely made the 2/4 s 4 feet in length, so this sets up as a more intimate picnic table. I have a bunch of rental property, and I'm thinking of putting these at the houses where I have excellent, long-term tenants who would take care of it. Thanks for a great product.

Awesome product. You just need to add your favorite wood as it describes. I've grown up with the big and bulky picnic tables. This product uses the idea of seating first and when you actually need a table you can put two together to be used as a table for gatherings...without the bulk! Very functional! We replaced out play set and sand box and opted for a fire pit area to accommodate our growing children. I guess high school kids don't like to play in the sand box unless it's on the beach. The product assembles pretty easy. I painted our bases with hammered dark gray paint so it looks like metal. We also added a regular bench for more seating. I modified the size of the back of the bench to accommodate a 2x6 / 2x4 / 2x6 pattern that worked great.

This was a project for my young son and I to do while following the stay at home order. It worked out great because it’s easy enough for him to help me with and we have a nice bench for the yard now.

It is a great product...only problem I had was there was no hole for the main bolt where the back connected to the seat...i had to drill it...other than that...awesome!

Made with 5/4 top and seat. Looks better than 2X4s. Works well at 4 foot length, plenty strong. Made 8 units for church fire-pit area.

screws for the base legs should be longer

Easy to assemble and easy to follow instructions (they're on the box). I've brought a lot of their other projects and I'm just as happy with this one. I do have to admit that I upgraded the screws to because the included ones I felt weren't best for long term durability.

Bought one of these for my deck. It worked out well because I also purchased the 2x4's from Home Depot and since I was making a 4' bench, had the guys there cut them for me (bought 8 footers and had them cut in half, only two pieces had to be shortened by 12-1/2"). Stained the boards before assembly and followed the instructions (IN THE PROPER ORDER, INSTEAD OF HOW MY HUSBAND WANTED TO ASSEMBLE IT!) and it came out great. Nice and heavy, will not blow in the wind, works fine and is just what I wanted.

I HAVE NOT ASSEMBLED THEM YET BUT I KNOW THEY WILL MEET MY EXPECTATIONS BECAUSE I HAD A PAIR BEFORE EXCEPT I HAVE SOME MISSING PIECES BECAUSE THE BOXES WERE OPEN UPON ARRIVAL

Our first 2X4 Flip Top bench was purchased around 9 years ago, is still going strong and still functions as well as it did on day one: superbly. My husband wanted another to put near the house, close to the grill. This new one is of the same quality as our original Flip Top bench and we're extremely pleased with it. We'll definitely recommend it to any and all who want a sturdy, well made, durable flip top bench. So simple yet so very functional!!

Built them for my kids. They were so excited to get them. My grandchildren sat on them to enjoy the visit and then they were flipped so they could eat. Five grandchildren under the age of 10 spread out over 12 feet and they were all facing us. What a joy! Worth the cost and the effort to build.

Great product and so easy to use. Create additional seating space or add a picnic table.

This was a family project where we assembled 4 bench-tables in order to introduce our niece (age 15) and nephew (age 12) to carpentry and tools. The kits simplified the process and resulted in an enjoyable experience and something the kids could enjoy for years. The quality is good, also. Arrived quickly.

Easy assembly

The picture you had on your web site was very nmisleading

Simple design and assembly. Used my own stainless 1 5/8” fasteners, and doubled the number from what the design called for. Made two units and both are solid. Very pleased.

Instructions were clear and concise. Once together it was what we expected. Our first use was July 4rh. It was perfect for our family gathering.

None of the hardware in the boxes. I ordered two Flip Tops. Neither one had the hardware the instructions said were included. Will have to buy and hope they are the right fit.

Great product, easy assembly, get two in one...bench, table...

Well made. My last set lasted 12 years. Glad to have another. 2 benches on the porch quickly convert to a spacious pick nick table.
