Elegant but simple
We use this block And board System as a base for our raised bed pictured below it went together well, and was easy to level and square.

These blocks make building planters quick and stylish I recommend using a 2 x 6 pressure treated southern pine board because a nominal size it is 5 1/2 inches which makes it the same size as the block.

I bought these blocks to create a garden in my back yard and these worked out perfect! I was even able to get my 2x6 cut at the store so all I had to do was assemble them. I leveled my dirt under so I was able to get a nice level garden. I will definitely be purchasing more of these

    Good Value
I got these to build a garden bed and they were great for that. I had hoped to use some rebar to stabilize the corners, but not all of the blocks had the holes they were supposed to. At 70, I wasn't strong enough to just hammer them in. They turned out to be not truly necessary after all. But, perhaps a bit of qualiyi control was in order? This was a curbside pickup so I wasn't able to pick the individual bricks myself.

    Only the stones
This set only comes with the planter blocks and no lumber. It makes absolutely no sense as to how this set cost $268 when the individual planter blocks are sold for $4. I got 24 blocks at the store for around $100 and spent another $100 on wood and rebar as well as wire mesh. This still doesn’t add up to the price of this set of blocks. Do yourself a favor and get it at the store or buy them individually online.

The castle blocks were easy to use. I plan to purchase more to expand my raised garden bed.

        Great Product
These are great and go up fast. There are so many possibilities of arrangement, just stack, stake and get on with business. I was able to put my little project together in a weekend.

        Excellent Product
Was able to raise it to 4 blocks. Used steel rods for stability and 2 x 4 for framing. Finished with all around benches (2 x 6). Used 2 x 6 for inserts. Plans for using 2” pvc piping at both ends as swing arms for chicken wire covers.

Great blocks to build raised bed garden
I just finished our 4ft x 8ft x 22” raised bed vegetable garden. We started laying the corner blocks, the hardest part is getting all the blocks leveled to each other and getting them so that the bed would be square. I put 10” of small pea stone under each corner block, I used PL 5000 masonry glue as I stacked each block then i started installing the 4ft & 8ft lengths. I used 36” x 1/2” rebar through the stacks of blocks. Then we screwed in side supports inside the framing using 2x4’s, 20” high.

              Brittle
I purchased about a dozen blocks to build a raised bed on a gentle slope. I found shortly after we had a heavy rain that the blocks, particularly those at the bottom, had shifted. I redid the set-up and I bought rebars but in the process of installing them, three blocks cracked with the inner tongue breaking off. We'll see if they hold up over the winter and spring freeze-thaw cycle here in Maine. I'm not buying or building anymore until I'm sure that it will make it through a Maine winter. The product description does state you can stack them 2 feet high which is 4.4 block (24 inches divided by 5.5 inches) and I only stacked three. I also added some reinforcement at the corners as you can see from the image below but that was not my original intent.

                    Great Tiered Garden Solution
After leveling of the site, everything else was very simple to assemble. *Get the 1/2" (or I actually recommend **3/8") rebar in a longer length and pound it in deeper if stacking more than 4 blocks high (Yes, you need the rebar & the smaller diameter is easier to pass through). The 2x6 boards ended up being the better option because you have more versatility on how high if you plan to build a tiered garden. For irrigation, we just laid out a drip hose and drilled a hole through the top boards to hold the hose as it moved from garden bed to garden bed. We added a hinged bench ( made with a 2x6 and a 12x2 and 5 sturdy hinges with brackets underneath for stability), to store gardening supplies and make seating for the fire pit in this area. Also provides easier reach for upper beds. The only minor issue was that we had to punch through the center hole in the bottom of nearly every block... it wasn't difficult, just inconvenient. The finished product came out beautiful. Although the higher lumber cost put us over the budget, we are still glad we chose this method.

                      Great for the Beginning Gardener
I purchased 16 of these to make two small raised vegetable beds. They are easy to use and great for making small raised garden beds I stacked them two high and used cedar fence boards to connect them. I used two cedar fence boards per side sandwiched together and cut small shim blocks to wedge them tight. The cedar fence boards were much cheaper than cedar dimensional lumber. This worked out great because I could make the beds whatever size I wanted. Also with these planter wall blocks, if I want to make my raised beds larger next year or move them, all I have to do is take everything apart and all materials can be re-used.

I was jealous of my 27 year old's gardening successes!
My son's DC apartment has raised beds that are well built and were installed by his landlord. Since he had a great time growing veggies last summer, I wanted to do the same. I found these blocks in a Youtube vid. It was easy to create, even for a 60 year old like me! The blocks were heavy (for me), and the lumber awkward, but one person can definately do this. I took my tme and really thought it out, cos I didn't want to have to move those blocks more than once. The bed came together really quickly over 2 w/e. For Mother's Day, the son & his GF did all the heavy lifting of the soil and compost - even planted the innaugural row of lettuce! I'f this summer goes well, the bed is positioned so that I can easily addon to it with more blocks. Nice product for old geezers like me.

                          Great easy product
I used these stacked 3 high for our 300 gallon koi pond. They made building it so much easier and it looks great. Plus in the future replacing boards will be easier.

My kids have a YouTube Channel “Fun Tips For Kids” and we did a family Project: Garden Bed, using 12 units of planter wall blocks, lumbers, rebars and paint. The result was INCREDIBLE. You can see in the link below: https://youtu.be/6IkK1q5F9JE Have a blessed day❤️

My Little Peace Of Ground Magic
Thanks to these OldCastle Planter Blocks, I designed and built a series of raised herb garden beds off of my kitchen patio that are all connected and terraced up my awkward backyard slope. I don’t have a saw, so the helpful staff at Home Depot cut the 2x6x8 pressure treated boards in half, and they even brought the materials outside and loaded them into my SUV! I ended up with four raised and terraced garden beds, two on each side, plus a center access area that I filled with river rock and flagstones. I added solar lights that bring extra ambiance and magic at night! The result is even better than I envisioned, designed, and built myself! And I can’t wait to build some more! Remember touse the 2’ rebar to drive them through the blocks and ground for extra stability. My step by step process, with photos, is on my Instagram @MyLittlePeaceOfGround https://www.instagram.com/p/CCpV6vvlTA9/?igshid=dvnqvwfzdcc7

These planter wall blocks are just the thing I was looking for to create a set of raised garden beds. They enable you to customize your garden bed in accordance with your taste and need. I'm building mine 5 blocks high, so that we don't strain our backs to bend over to work in the garden. Making the beds taller does present some interesting engineering challenges. The taller the wall, the more force there is exerted on the wall by the soil inside. I'm using planks on top of the raised bed walls not only for a nice looking finish, but also to tie the corners together so the walls don't lean out. For the wooden walls, I'm using pressurer treated lumber for appearance and longevity. Don't worry, modern pressure treated lumber does not contain arsenic any longer. But to keep the chemicals out of the soil, I treated the inside facing surfaces of the lumber with boiled linseed oil. I also lined the inside of the walls with garden barrier cloth. The top planks are satin stained common redwood.
