This dishwasher is a piece of crap. I have yet, in 4 months to get an entire load of dishes that were all clean. And Home Depot? I called shortly after 2-3 loads of receiving and they absolutely do not care. Home Depot offers ZERO service after purchasing a major appliance. They pass the buck and tell you to go to manufacturer. NEVER will I purchase an appliance from Home Depot again. EVER, EVER, EVER.

I bought this because I don't need all the bells and whistles of a more expensive dishwasher. It takes about 2 hours for the dishwasher to complete a wash and dry cycle. The dry cycle is awful. The interior of the dishwasher is dripping water once the cycle is complete and stays like that unless I wipe it down inside with paper towels. My other brand-name dishwashers didn't have this problem. I do not recommend this Amana ADB1400AGS dishwasher.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased new home and this brand washer was installed. I have tried 4 times to clean dishes but the washing pod doesn’t dissolve. The dispenser opens but the pod just sits in the corner. I don’t know if it’s the washer or something else.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The story begins when we first got our bra new house 10 year ago. All the appliances were new. Our dishwasher considered to be a fancy one one of the first digitals in the market. I didn’t want to break it for not using it “properly”, so we use it for only big events. Then for the “lack of use” broke and the technician said it was because we didn’t use it constantly enough. LOL! I think we used it 10 times and I was told I needed a new one, that this was a goner. We were all upset and refused to spend the moneys in another fancy one. The technician recommended us Amana. He said that these machines were reliable, inexpensive, and the easiest to be repaired. They’re the most simple, practical, and yes!….RELIABLE dishwashers in the market. After years we moved out of state and finally we bought our new house. Again, the “fancy” dishwasher was broken so we bought our second AMANA. We use it every day! We just love it. It’s design is simple but it matches our stainless steel appliances too. What matters is that for being so inexpensive, you get a reliable, easy to use, effective DISHWASHE! My AMANA DISHWASHER is a keeper! We always sing the ama-na-ma tu tu ru ru ruuuu song! ;P

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you the things I would change on it is when you push start to start the dishwasher if you open it and re-close it it does not continue. Have to push start again. Also it does not dry very well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s a decent dishwasher for the money, only issue I had was the toe kick of the dishwasher sticks out 3/4 of an inch past my cabinet toe kick when it’s mounted as deep as possible. Not a big deal but it did annoy me at first. Cleans dishes good, dries the dishes decent when you use rinse aid. It’s not quiet. It’s somewhat loud. It’s a budget dishwasher.

Inexpensive dishwasher that is good for rentals. Slightly noisy and easy to swap out when it fails in 3-4 years. The kitchen counter has to be lifted in my place to do repairs so simply swap out for new and recycle the old.

Easy to install. Works great and the BEST Part was the price was reasonable! Great bang for the buck!

Your dishes will be very clean. But the water doesn’t get hot enough. Biggest disappointment was that your dishes will not dry you have to crack open the door and let them finish air drying. Glasses will need dried by hand because moisture stays in the dishwasher doesn't seem to vent steam out. But for the price I’ll be happy if I get 8 years outta it!

Dishwasher came with a newly built house. Right off the bat the rinse aid dispenser does not work. I filled it up and in 8 months of running the dishwasher almost daily the cup is still completely full. Yes we have a water softener yes we rinse our dishes before we put them in the dishwasher. There is no delay feature to delay the start of the washer. That should be a standard feature. Like really? This thing is LOUD!!! and with no delay feature you have to remember to start this thing at night when you go to bed or else you wake up and have to start it and listen to it all morning and it is not a soft hum or gentle swish that sounds like a sweet ocean wave. This thing is like being in the belly of a dragon with indigestion. After they are "washed" you must inspect and then scrape off any small food scraps that are left on the dishes. Maybe it is the detergent that I use maybe not. I have bought the same cheap detergent for my other dishwashers and they have always come out clean so again I am leaning towards the dishwasher as the one to blame. Yes I clean the filter cup and the bottom of the dishwasher often as well. There is no finger print guard or film on the front so it always looks dirty. Stainless steal cleaner helps prevent fingerprints for a couple of days. When the dishes are drying water leaks from the handle down the dishwasher front as the steam is dispensed. PLEASE save yourself the trouble and get something a little nicer. Unless you have always hand washed your dishes and are getting into the dishwasher market for the first time or you need something to put in an old rental to help advertise as "new appliances" you will be very disappointed.

I just moved in and there was a clog and a pool of water in the drain. My property manager freelanced a handyman. He fixed the clog. I’m running the dishwasher now. It’s soooooo loud. I can barely hear the tv. When the load is finished, you don’t here a click. The machine jist stops. The top rack has some rust. I’ll include a pic.

I wouldnt recommend this dishwasher we are having so many problems with it. In 6 months the heating element went out, detergent gets left all over on the inside. The water spray ports clog up, now I am having water leaking underneath the bottom of it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dishwasher works great. It is extremely quiet, in spite of its db rating. It looks great in our kitchen and fit into our budget. We couldn't be happier.

We bought this new dishwasher because it was the only one available at Home Depot. From the very first wash, the inside of the dishwasher walls and doors were wet with moisture (see pictures) after dry cycle (dishwasher drying agent was used). The dishwasher washes and somewhat dries the dishes fine but like other reviews stated the dishwasher does not dry on the inside. I called Home Depot and they said that I could not return it after the dishwasher was in my home for a week and half (after 3 washes). My only option was to contact Amana first to see if they could fix the dishwasher. I tried chatting with Amana but they wanted me to pay $5 for assistance which I think is ludicrous for customer service. I have now been on the phone on hold with Amana for over 40 minutes without even speaking to a person (this has given me the time to write this review). The dishwasher was installed by a plumber and cost almost as the dishwasher. My biggest concern is that down the road that the dishwasher will get mold. Not very happy to say the least... I would tell other soon to be dishwasher buyers to order the dishwasher even if they have to wait! The convenience of getting the dishwasher on the spot is not worth it.

We got this “dishwasher” a year ago for our condo and wow it’s awful. We first thought maybe we were putting to many dishes in but this is not the case. This unit can’t even rinse ketchup off a bowl. You either have to prewash your dishes or rewash them. The whole unit after a cycle is dripping wet even on the heated dry cycle with rinse aid!! We will be pulling this dishwasher out and straight into the garbage. Amana should be embarrassed with this product I would be.

I bought this one week ago. I tried four times through the week to wash and dry the dishes. I bought the platinum jet dry to get the dishes to dry and it STILL would not dry them completely. The walls and ceiling of the dishwasher stayed wet. This will cause mildew to start growing. We took this dishwasher back to Home Depot today and have ordered a different brand. Don't waste your time! Pay the extra money and get a better brand. This has been a pain!! Good luck!

Purchase update review after two years. The top grate has began to rust bad every cycle, which is dripping on to the bottom dishes. Based on the rust issues I would not recommend this product.
