The product went on thin so I needed to apply about 4 coats to achieve good coverage. This may if been do to the item I was painting, made if resin. But I love the color, creamy white, not yellow at all. I used the dark wax to highly all the accents on the painted piece, wish they had a black since the dark was more brown. The clear wax was easy to use also. All in all I gave the product a 3 do to the coverage.

This was a good paint for the crafts I wanted to complete. I was able to paint several items with this small container and it covered very well. I would definitely purchase this again for another project in the future.

not impressed
I bought this paint for the top to a dining room table. I have already applied two coats of paint to the table and it still needs more paint. If I had known I needed more than this I would have bought the rustoleum chalk paint.Rustoleum chalk paint goes on so much better and covers in 2 coats but looks good with one coat. This paint is costing twice as much as the rustoleum paint!!!

This color is non-yellowing perfect to use on a contrasting distressed look or to use as is...i used everlasting on my kitchen table to add a contrast to my kitchen chairs also Americana decor in the color refreshing beautiful together. Long lasting, fast drying, nontoxic, a little goes a long way and it's odorless which is great if you have a toddler like I do...also, it's easy to play with the consistency by just adding water in a separate dish and dipping brush to make the paint thinner but still has great coverage little tip!

I bought this paint online, and did not read about it well enough. I thought I was buying chalk paint, the real deal, but this is not. It is a very nice latex paint. It's my fault for not reading well enough, but I was still disappointed. The color of this, called Lace, is an off-white with warm undertones. Whites come is so many shades, so if you have warm undertones in your color scheme this I think Lace is a nice white easy on the eyes. I painted a bare wood 18" round panel, which I planned to use as a tabletop. It covered in two coats, but i gave it three because two did not seem to be enough. It did not cover in one coat, you could see the wood through it. By the time I was on my third coat, I realized this isn't chalk paint.
The nice things about it: the color is a rich warm toned white, it paints on easy (I used a Wooster brush) and it cleaned up easily with water run through the brush until clear.
The bad thing is that it did not dry fast -- as chalk paint would -- and when I thought it was dry, overnight, I turned it over and it happened to be on a newspaper. That side picked up colors from the newspaper! I had to sand it out. It should have been dry.
I did lightly sand between coats. In other issues, some newsprint literally stuck (embedded) into the paint on the underside of my table, around the edges. That side I only gave one coat. Still, it was so stuck into the paint I could not sand it off. I never had that happen -- newspaper getting so stuck to paint -- in all the things I have painted. The best way to get a good paint job is to have a good prep, and I thought I did but this was an experience and I've painted a lot of things, including the walls of my house with excellent results.
I only sanded as this was bare wood. Maybe if I painted with primer that might have helped.
After I realized it was not chalk paint, I painted the top with Polycrylic glossy, for a protective finish. It was not what I had originally planned, but it taught me to pay attention because there are so many paints that say they are chalk paint.
The legs I bought I stained with minwax Kona and attached them. It is only an 18" table and I'm glad I made my mistake on this project and not my kitchen cabinets.
I would recommend this paint not as a chalk paint finish but as a nice latex. I think if people want to have a chalk paint finish, they need to use it the actual paint, because it is not the same. I wish Home Depot was clearer online. The issue is there is Rusteolum that is an actual chalk paint but only two colors.

I had used chalky finish paint previously to add a white washed look to tongue and groove paneling but bought this to finish two cabinets on a new kitchen island. The color was a perfect match with the backsplash tile we chose. Easy to apply and great results! Love chalk paint!

Love this product,
This is a great product that you can use immediately no priming or sanding but if it is an item being handled or used a lot you may want to put a more pemenant finish on it .

Chalk painted my entire kitchen
This was my first experience using Chalk Paint. I had checked out a few blogs before deciding to just dive in and try it. I used about 10-12 jars for the entire kitchen. The color was a very pure white, which I liked. I found it easy to apply once I thinned it out with water. Chalk paint requires 3-4 coats to fully cover. I used the Wooster Pro2 in. White China Bristle Angle Sash Brush for the entire project. I started out not priming anything, but then decided to use a spray primer about half way in and that was a good choice. The last section of cabinets came out the best!
I coated the cabinets in Varathane brand Polycrylic. This toned down the white color a bit. Again, this was a good thing for me! Overall I was happy with this product. Easy to use, great value and is holding up very well!!

New application for chalk paint: mortar around brick!
Chalk paint is just that: chalky. I needed that quality to paint the mortar that had gone crackin' around my shmear effect brick. It also is not white, but off white, creamy; perfect.
