This was a replacement for the same awning bought several years ago that was wearing out. It held well for many years. We never used the retractable option.

A handyman put it up for me, so I can’t comment on installation. He said it went well. The awning pulls up easily, better than the one it replaced. Looks good!

I am very happy with the product. The parts and awning were made from quality materials that will probably last. I was not happy with the instructions because they were not for the right product. I was able to figure out how to correctly install the awning by examining the parts and figuring it out for myself, trying to determine which parts of the instructions were valid, and which parts were false. I only had to start completely over once after believing the wrong figure for the height of the finished product.
