Horrible
Hands down the worst paint coverage I have ever experienced. My kids water colors would have worked better. Plan on 3+ coats for an acceptable job. I will never use again.

Hi Josh, thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear you didn't get the coverage you expected with our Urethane Alkyd Enamel paint. While this paint requires at least two coats, additional coats may be needed for drastic color changes. Ensuring customer satisfaction is our top priority. Love this color
Looked great in all the areas we used this color. Really glad we chose it.

      Worst paint
Primered panel doors, painted a coat, let it dry. Painted a second coat and the door looked exactly the same. After one coat the door looks like i never touched it. Shouldve stuck with the SW paint. Paint mixed at HD and mixed b4 use.

Reliable, easy to work with, and great value!
Before starting a big project of repainting my old oak kitchen cabinets, I researched a lot about different paints. SW Emerald Urethane was a popular name that came up but was also expensive (according to most people, worth the price tag). However I had previously used Behr Alkyd Enamel in Semi-Gloss to paint brown shutters white and had great success. I decided to go with Behr Alkyd Enamel in Satin (French Silver) for my cabinets and Behr once again was a champ! Super happy with the results!

          Love it.
I wanted to try this on my kitchen cabinet renovation. I have new mdf doors built to make my kitchen updated. I have to say this paint did not disappoint. I rolled the boxes and sprayed the doors and it leveled nicely especially on the doors. I used Bin shellac primer.

            Excellent for wood trim
I'd been looking for the right white base for our indoor doors, trim, baseboards. This is the one. It's very white. The semi-gloss is the right sheen for woodwork in my opinion. I do think it would be too shiny for drywall in the bath or kitchen. It goes on smoothly with brush or roller. Very little dripping when I put it on too thick.

            Does not self level
Got this paint for our vanities based on many reviews. The whole "thing" about this paint is: it flows well & levels off, eliminating brush lines. But this wasn’t the case at ALL. We did everything to reduce brush lines. Primer, sand between coats, new paintbrush, watched many tutorial videos on brush technique, etc. Nothing helped. This paint skinned over almost immediately & never leveled out as it dried. We even did 3 coats instead of 2, hoping it would improve with more coverage. No luck

impossible to get an even finish
Repainting cabinets, was originally going to use Behr Cabinet paint, but sales associate directed me to this.saying it had better hardness. I asked if it could be sprayed /diluted with my Wagner and was told yes I've wasted 7 days watching paint dry to an uneven unsettled finish- I've rolled it, brushed itand sprayed it. Horizontal on the cabinet doors, it absolutely won't level. On vertical surfaces, when sprayed or brushed neat or diluted it ripples/leaves flow lines/brush strokes.

Worked on my resin shed doors
After trying spray cans on my project, I discovered this paint. Plastic is not listed as one of the surfaces to apply, but I thought if it goes on metal and concrete, it has to look better than the blotchy application I had from spray cans. I used a 4” roller brush on a 70 degree day. It covered well with 2 coats. It’s completely transformed my old Rubbermaid shed from dingy to clean. It appears to have bonded well with the plastic.

                  Bathroom Paint
Silver Ash is a beautiful color and even better quality paint. Highly Recommend. This paint drys very fast and as long as you take your time it does not drip at all. Great coverage and really nice finish. I repainted my bathroom to brighten it up. It sets in a very light gray/silver with blue undertones but it does sit in the white color family.

Worked well both inside and out painting raw wood without priming it. This paint will not scratch off smooth surfaces and dries very hard. When painting trim and doors you can not find a better paint. The urethane creates a super bond.

Its A BEAR to work with
Did my Kitchen cabinets. Went from Expresso to off white. Scuff sanded the oil base expresso I sprayed on from Rustoleum about 5 years ago. Then 2 coats of zinser 123 primer. Then 3 light top coats with this Satin. You need 2 to 4 hrs dry time between ea. Coat and perfect temperature and humidity or this paint will start to set up quick. I used a Wooster foam roller. Got a pretty smooth finish, but not a perfect oil base sprayed finish. You have to be fast with this paint. Then wait 4 hrs. Between Coats. The finish is fairly hard but low sheen Satin. I've been painting for over 20 years. Behr was great back then. Don't know what happened. Don't ever use their Semi Gloss, its even harder to work with. For Cabinets I suggest SW Emerald. Sooooo much better.

                          Not for Exterior Use!
Really, really disappointed in this paint. It says for interior/exterior use. I used to refinish some exterior wood shutters, and after less than 1 year, the paint is cracking and flaking off on all of them. Extremely frustrating that I'll have to paint all of these shutters again. Do not use this paint on anything exterior! I used the same can to paint some interior drawers, and those are doing okay for now.

I recommend removing any loose coating, cleaning the surface and letting it dry, spot priming any bare wood with our Multi-Surface Stain-Blocking Primer & Sealer No. 436, then touching up and recoating with the paint. Extremely dissapointed with this paint. Benjamin Moore Advance is way better!
I bought this paint because it was recommended by a Home Depot employee. I told him that I was wanting to spray the paint with a paint gun and he assured me this would be the perfect fit. It wasn’t. I tried several different paint guns, airless and air supplied, only to discover this paint is NOT meant to be sprayed. I then tried several different brushes and rollers only to receive lackluster results. The coverage on it is good but it didn’t self level like the product claims to. Brush marks were easily visible and dimpling/orange peel happened even with rollers whether foam or fiber. Also, you may notice that even a week after drying that this paint will still not have fully hardened. I eventually bought Benjamin Moore Advance to replace it and had FAR BETTER results with a foam roller. It cost about $55/gal which is a good bit more than this Behr paint but the extra money was without a doubt worth saving further headaches. In hindsight, it’s my own fault. I should have done my own research before trusting the HD employee.

Awesome paint... dries rock hard and low VOC
I used this paint for all my trim and new doors. This stuff is awesome!! I tried several roller brands and naps. I did 3/8 nap, purdy foam and Wooster pro foam. BY FAR the best roller is to get the Wooster cage frame roller with Wooster Pro foam. Almost zero air bubbles and flawless finish. Foam is the way to go to get best finish. I used PPG gripper primer interior/exterior on any raw trim. This paint dries maybe an hour slower than latex, so gives you more time to get it flawless. Wait 24 hours between coats to let paint settle so you get flawless finish. In 2 hours coats are dry to touch. I even put a coat of paint on my exterior side garage door and it dried in 45 degree weather maybe an hour longer is all. It does off gas a little bit for about 3 days. I just leave a window cracked if doing in a bedroom. No big deal. Love this stuff! When drying it doesn't look flawless but is when dry. The satin is a true satin by the way and gives a expensive look.

Poor paint for a steel door
Horrible experience with this paint. EXTREMELY thick paint. Leaves brush marks and angle sheen everywhere. I'm not an inexperienced painter either. There is not enough time to paint a 6 panel door before this paint will dry on you. I would choose another paint for a steel door. Literally, 1 minute after painting a section of the door, you CANNOT go back to it and touch up the edge. I'm exhausted painting this door with this paint. I've painted hundreds of doors in my life, too. I have 6 panel doors throughout the house and used another product that worked fine. No issues like this. I'm beside myself and would not even consider using this paint for any application moving forward.

Hi JT - Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the brush marks, uneven sheen, and how thick the paint is! This product should have a creamy consistency that flows smoothly from the stir stick once it's been mixed for a few minutes before use. I'm also concerned that the paint dried too quickly. To fix the finish, I recommend lightly sanding down the unwanted texture from the brush marks, wiping down the surface to remove the sanding dust, then recoating the door with a new can of paint. We'd like to assist you with this further. Please feel free to reach out to us directly. We look forward to hearing from you! - Sara Behr
                                  Best product for redoing cabinets
I did a lot of searching to find the best product to go through and refinish my vanity. I compared the kits along with behr and found my best option was to use the behr paint. I did lightly sand the cabinets beforehand, washed them down with soapy water then I used a primer and then one coat of the behr paint. I think my goto for now on is Behr. The coverage is amazing with 1 coat.

                                    awesome product
This was not a weekend project, but was a much simpler process than i thought it would be. Prep was definitely the key. I sanded all the cabinet bases door and drawer faces thoroughly to get the sheen off. I then put on two coats of behr kitchen and bath primer. I did both coats the same day, but would let it dry over night. The next day i would put the first coat of paint on working in small areas at a time I would use a brush, and the immediatley roll the same area with a foam hot dog roller lightly coated with the paint. I waited until the next day to put the second coat on the same way. (I did roll the second coat on the back of some of the doors, and the coverage was not as good.). The finish came out great. If I hadnt done them myself, i would never believe they were painted.

Paint goes on nice but not very scuff resistant
I bought alkyd paint after finding through research that alkyd paints were among the most durable for cabinets. I painted my homemade buffet with the Behr Satin Alkyd paint and let it dry at 60% humidity for about at month. As I was putting my kitchenware in the buffet, I noticed that it scuffed very easily after carefully sliding pots over the surface. Comparatively, I have several banisters that are painted with latex semigloss paint that my cats regularly jump onto/off of that are barely scratched after many years of use. This paint isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

OK, I am not a paint professional by any means but I do enjoy painting projects.. I love the instant gratification of a wall changing color or trim getting a refresh! That being said, this is NOT your standard wall paint... You need patience for sure and do not take short cuts. I sanded down stained kitchen cabinets, cleaned thoroughly with Dawn dish soap and hot water and let completely dry... then primed with a thin coat of Behr kitchen and bath primer.. let that dry for a day or 2. Then I sanded the primed surface down with 400 grit and wiped own again..let er dry. Painting time! Do not goop this stuff on... several thin coats will set you up for success! I used a 2.5" good nylon brush for everything. First coat let dry over night, sand with 400 grit, wipe, paint, dry overnight.. repeat 1 more time. The paint will be tacky to the touch but like the Behr reps say.. if you sand and wipe down, it goes away. I painted everything inside.. AC set to 74. The odor is not bad at all just different from standard interior plaint. 7 cabinets will take a week but will turn out beautifully. After a few days, paints begins to harden like enamel. I can not emphasize enough about the steps needed to get the results we all want with painting cabs.. take a few deep breaths, throw on some good tunes and maybe a nice glass of red and have at it!! Hope this helps and good luck!

                                          Alkyd paint
If you’re looking for a nice finish this isn’t the paint for you. Doesn’t self level. My kitchen has an orange peel finish to it even though I used a high density roller (recommended by a store associate).

Hi Leticia, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you did not get a smooth finish. This is not normal, and I understand your disappointment. I recommend sanding the affected areas, cleaning, and recoating. We recommend using a 1/4-3/8" nap roller or high-quality synthetic brush.
