The seat is fine but the Bemis toilet has a design flaw.

Nice looking seat. Some wear in the paint from sliding around in the packaging box. Left hinge has a gap and looks like it will separate and cause problems down the line. $40 for a standard wooden toilet seat with soft close features is on the high side. Has been working well for the two weeks we've had it - though to be fair, it is a toilet seat that generally sits there.

Another cracked seat
Have never had an issue with Bemis replacement seats but I have had three in a row crack in our half bath. I didn't have receipt and box for them so bought new one each time. Time to find a new brand.

Very easy to install and no need to change or drill out toilet holes to make it fit. Good Quality. I am a plumber by trade and I would always recommend a wood seat soft close to a plastic seat

This is the 3rd Bemis I've bought, 2nd of the elongated series. Well manufactured for the price. I like the choice in finishes for the hinge hardware (chrome, nickel/stainless, and hidden), so that you can match or contrast the finishes on the rest of the bath hardware. Installed in under 15 minutes, which included removing the seat being replaced and cleaning of the commode. Definitely recommend.
