We are so sorry for the confusion. This mattress topper is a deep-pocketed topper, 18" refers the depth of the mattress, not the thickness of the topper. The description is not correct the 18inch is not correct...
The description is not correct the 18inch is not correct and in fact its maybe 1/2 inch thick..very flat ..i am very unhappy with thid item.

This mattress cover exceeded my expectations. Fit my king size bed perfect. The material and stuffing is amazing. My mattress feels better than new. I now get the most restful and best nights sleep I have in years. I definitely recommend this product. So glad I made this purchase.
