This beautiful baby does a fantastic job and does it super quietly. My wife had it running and I was only about 12 feet away relaxing and the only noise I heard was during the drain cycle with the water going down the drain and every now and then a small noise could be heard. This baby performs so much better than any dishwasher we have ever had, and we have had quite a few. We still have some spots on our clear glass, even using a rinse aid but nowhere near as much and as bad as our previous machine. I blame this on our water. Here our city water has lots of ‘stuff’ in it. We have a million gallon water purifier and softener system that does not use salt and there is still a residue on all our fixtures so I assume that is what is left on the dishes. Other than those spots on clear glass everything else is absolutely spotless and gleams. No signs of grease or even coffee stains. I am not 100% sold on their Patented CrystalDry technology claims. We have used that option and our coffee mugs still have puddles of water on them and those little places where water can collect in lids & plastic storage containers with lips are still wet. Still it does a superb job of sanitizing everything. My wife really likes the small top shelf where a lot of small items can be spread out. Every aspect of this baby shows quality. So make your dish washing chores easier my friend and use this Bosch.

I never knew a dishwasher could be so quiet, but the nice features don't stop there. Probably most important, this gets dishes clean - very clean. I'm using their recommended cleaning agent, which is a very popular one and one I've been using for over 6 years, but this still gets things cleaner than my last dishwasher using the same stuff. It also does it faster than my old dishwasher. When I read about & saw the extra drawer, I thought it might be a little gimmicky and not useful, but I quickly changed my opinion after using it just once - my utensils got cleaner and I didn't have to worry about them getting crowded together and spots getting missed, and unloading them & putting them away was so much easier than my previous, traditional basket. That also frees up some useful space on the bottom rack. The controls are simple and very easy to use, and the exterior seems to be fingerprint-resistant. At least, I don't see any prints on this after a few weeks of use, while my refrigerator of a similar finish seems to have finger & hand prints all over it immediately after cleaning them off. The recessed handle is also nice - having nothing sticking out makes for a clean look and unobstructed access to the counter above.

This dishwasher has a three trays for dish, glassware and flatware. It looks great, runs quietly but you must read, look at picture on instruction trying to figure out how to load it. The tray for crystal and/or glassware does not take large items even though the shelf drop down, it's not enough. The upper tray is removable but stem crystal won't fit. It is up to you to figure out how to load this dishwasher.

Let me start by saying I've long been a fan of Bosch dishwashers. This is the third I've owned in various houses and I've found them all to be quiet, energy efficient, and solidly built. This 800 Series Tall Tub version is the best yet. First, it is VERY quiet. Although it's advertised at 42 decibels, I measured it at closer to 50 with the app on my phone (I know, probably not terribly precise). This is still very quiet, about the noise level of a library reading room. In truth, it's so quiet you really can't be sure it's running if you're more than a few feet away. Second, it's very spacious inside. The racks are large and the lower rack has plenty of headroom for large pots, etc. The third or top rack is aparticularly nice feature for cutlery or smaller items (a removable cutlery basket is also provided). The Crystal Dry setting leaves dishes dry and sparkling. Finally, the stainless steel tub and exterior should provide years of rust-free operation. All in all, this is a sleek, well-designed and built appliance. Highly recommended!

This is an extremely high quality dishwasher, but I would expect nothing less from Bosch, known for its high quality appliances. The first thing I noticed upon unpacking it was the extremely thick insulation around the unit ...almost an inch thick to prevent heat loss and mitigate dishwasher noise (see picture). The installation is straightforward -- similar to other dishwashers I've installed -- if your wiring and plumbing are already in place. Another thing you'll appreciate is all the bells and whistles the unit has, from the various programming options to the adjustable dish racks to the sensors which automatically increase wash time when extra cleaning is necessary. The interior is stainless steel, which dramatically decreases running noise, especially when compared to builder grade dishwashers (with plastic interiors) that most of us have. All in all a very nice dishwasher.

This dishwasher is very, very quiet. The water going down the drain makes more noise. Bosch added a red light that shines on the floor so that you can tell if it is running. The only downside to very quiet dishwashers is that they use a filter instead of a food grinder. The filters need to be removed and rinsed about once per month. Installation notes: The previous dishwasher was hardwired. This one uses a plug. You either have some electrical work to do yourself to add a new outlet or hire an electrician. The back legs are very easy to adjust. The front legs are a pain. I would recommend measuring the hight of your counter ahead of time and pre adjusting the legs. There is not a great way to turn the feet to make the legs go up and down. Great feature: there is no heating element on the bottom. This keeps plastic things that fall down there from melting. The drying seems to use a fan. It gets the dishes really dry without random puddles. There is no residue on the glasses, super clean and shiny. We really like the 3rd rack for cutlery. Controls: Not really sure what the point of the on/off button is. The buttons are slightly hard to press. If you open the door mid-cycle, it take a couple of tries to get the cycle going again. The Bosch 800 Series Top Control Tall Tub Bar Handle Dishwasher in Stainless Steel with Stainless Steel Tub, 42 dba is an outstanding dishwasher-both in style and performance. This Bosch unit is by far the quietest dishwasher we've ever had. We ran the unit shortly after it was installed with a load of dishes and silverware-the unit did a very good job of cleaning everything with only a few water spots visible. I was fortunate to have Bosch offer me free installation as well. Although I've installed too many dishwashers in my days to count-it was nice having it installed for me. It was a standard install with no surprises for the installer. The unit came undamaged and with most of the installing hardware-except for the water line. There is a new style water line that if I had installed myself-I would of been able to purchase at my local Home Depot. Really like the control panel hidden on top of the door. Great product.

Can you love a dishwasher? If it’s the new Bosch SHPM78Z55N 800 series dishwasher you can certainly love a dishwasher. Too much? Check out these features: -Triple racks. That third rack up top is awesome! Toggles on each side let you drop the side wings down a bit to accommodate ramekins, and all of our tongs, spatulas, sippy-cup lids, medicine cups, etc. fit up there perfectly. -Easy-adjust middle rack raises or lowers into three different positions to make room in the middle rack or to give the bottom rack maximum space for large pots. -All three racks have easily flipped bars that accommodate different sized plates, bowls, etc. -Quiet! 42 decibels mean conversations are not hindered one iota with the dishwasher running, even standing on either side of the washer. -Super-easy install with the back leveling feet adjusted from the front of the dishwasher. Simply level left-right with the front feet, then level front-back with the front screw that adjusts the back feet. -Beautiful. Hidden controls and classic understated Bosch design complements any kitchen. Watch the attached video to see the features in action and to see it running. This dishwasher is amazing, and if you have a bunch of kids, that third rack will be a game-changer. Instead of running the dishwasher twice a day, once is now our new normal because of the extra room provided with the third rack. The filter is easy to clean (see the video) and the stainless tub will last forever. The value found in this dishwasher is immense for us, since we run it every single day. It cleans really well. Bosch, as usual, you have knocked it out of the park with the new 800-series!

Without question the quietest dishwasher we have ever owned, and the most expensive. But I really do find with most things you do indeed get what you pay for. Our old dishwasher was one of the leading brands and only 50 DBA loud, but the difference between its 50 and this ones 42 DBA loudness is unbelievable. Unless you have a pot or pan moving around on ya in there the most noise it makes is when it drains water and thats from the sink drain not the dishwasher itself. The whur of our Hunter Ceiling Fan in the living/dining area thats open to the kitchen except for a pony wall actually makes more noise than the dishwasher and its a very quiet fan. The adjustable middle rack is a nice feature as well is the very upper shallow utensil drawer rack. I find the utensils being held straight up and down on their sides allows for more forceful water to surround and clean every little spot on them. It also has a traditional silverware basket if you prefer to use it. I use that basket with the lids folded down for smaller items that I want to wash in the dishwasher. Tines on the other racks are adjustable for width or many can be laid down to make room for very large pots or pans. I have the no stick air fryer liner pan it there now. It has several cycles to pick from as well as many options on each cycle. The rinse and half load options I find particularly awesome as many of our dinners at home are for just two and dont have a full load to wash, but I hate to wash dishes by hand and can't stand the sink with items needing washed laying in it. The heating element in this is not exposed so plastics as long as they are dishwasher safe can go anywhere in the dishwasher and not limited to the top rack. No need to rinse, just scrape off major debris and wash, otherwise the detergent can etch surfaces and cloud plastics and glasses. everything we have washed so far has been perfectly clean and void of any water spots and we have very hard water. Make sure and use a name brand rinse agent and you will be fine! I did a self install and it was a typical dishwasher installation. (the unit itself weighs around 80 pounds, if your unsure of your abilities arrange for installation, it is usually very economical) It includes a power cord and drain hose, unlike others I have purchased in the past , so no dishwasher installation kit is required. Your going to need an outlet within three feet (I put one on the baseboard behind the dishwasher as the old one was hard wired not plugged in) Also you need to supply a stainless braided dishwasher water supply line if yours is old and not in good shape and a 3/8-in OD compression x 3/4-in female garden hose thread 90-degree elbow standard dishwasher connector. (the connector is around $6, I kinda questioned what if your buying a $1000 dishwasher they dont go ahead and include that, but they dont! LOL) Both the water and electric connect to the rear of the unit and it drains to the rear as well. Then it all just slides into place and my be secured in place if needed by included hardware. (recommended). You will not regret purchasing this dishwasher at all.

We have an open concept floor plan so it was vertually impossible to watch TV and have the dishwasher running......also impossible to go to bed and have the dishwasher running, as I said it was LOUD. The door latch broke, a perfect opportnity to replace it. I did not like the price of the Bosch 800 and thought it was expensive. Then i read a review that said, "spend the money and get the best, the best money I ever spent, the silence is worth every cent". I cant agree more, this machine is so silent, I am glad they put a red light aimed at the floor so I know its running (you should have also added a green light to let us know when its done). This is not an expensive machine. This is what it costs for a machine which does its job PERFECTLY.

I love the quietness and how clean it gets dishes, but I don't like the start and 3 seconds to close door to start. I also do not like that when it's running, I have to look at the red light at the bottom and there's nothing at the top.(where the cycles are)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A new dishwasher requires new thinking - and I'm finding this one no different than less "fancy" models. I have to remove the top tray to wash large wine glasses, and smaller wine glasses barely fit in the wine holder spots - only two where there are three slots. Large dishes often touch each other, so I need to leave a space between some of them. Otherwise, the dishes come out clean, and mostly dry.

It cleans like I've never witnessed before. And if this review help your determination to by one, we'll then you are buying the best dishwasher in the business. Since all the part shortages occurred due to covid, the distributor could not complete my oder for, believe it, two whole years. It was worth the wait and I would hope that the wait time is less now, but I certainly would call ahead on the backlog.

No rinsing required. This dishwasher cleans the dirtiest dishes. Plastic items can be put on any rack since there is no heating element to worry about.

Every time we wash dishes it smells like burning plastic and makes all of our dishes also smell like burning plastic. We've had a tech out to fix it, which helped for a bit, but now the smell is back

You really can't fit small bowls or small Tupperware which would be nice. They show it should be used for silverware but there is already 2 baskets for that on the first level.. I would have given it 4.5 stars but it didn't allow me to do that.

When we purchased that one, this had been our other leading contender, so it was easy to come to a decision this time. Price points are comparable, as are features. The Crystal Dry feature works well -- dishes are always dry, except for things with areas that collect water (like the bottoms of coffee cups, and plastics with downward-curving rims). The top tray is great. It's adjustable and just a little deeper than the one in our old DW, which allows shallow bowls in addition to utensils, saving space in the main racks. The one disappointment we've found is the racks have angled prongs, and are very difficult to load efficiently. It feels like we have more wasted space and can wash fewer dishes per load than the old DW with vertical prongs. That said, it's hardly a deal-breaker, and we LOVE this DW. Hopefully we'll get a LOT more years' use from it than the old one.

After limping along with a decades old different brand dishwasher for 12 years having this one installed was a dream come true. It's incredibly quiet and our dishes are clean, dry, and sparkling! We like the red light on the floor feature to remind our family not to open it while it's running. It's a good feature to have given that it's so quiet! 10/10 would buy again!

There seems to be a certain amount of "pressure" that you have to apply before it will function. This typically occurs about 1 out of 4 times. Other than that, I am very happy with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had Bosch Dishwashers for years. There is just no comparison between the performance of the Bosch and other brands. However, I was a little disappointed with my new 800 Series machine. The wire baskets seemed considerably flimsier than my old one. The Start button is difficult to use. I have to press it many times which is annoying. The door that houses the dishwasher cleaning tablets is hard to shut. I cannot seem to place wine glasses in the machine without them falling over. I was much happier with my 12-year-old model.
