I have never been able to put dirty dishes in any of our dishwashers over the last 20 years. We joked the dishwasher was a sanitizer, and that was it. When our washer died, I did some research and saw Bosch was very highly rated, especially the 800. It did not disappoint! It is *so* quiet, I have to put my ear to it to know if it started or not. But it’s most amazing for the fact that we’ve put dishes with food dried on them, an Instant Pot inner container that had a small area that I tried to get out several times, and they all came out sparkling clean! I can’t recommend this highly enough!

I hate this dishwasher. I wish I had known exactly what ADA COMPACT actually meant. You cannot fit a large dinner plate on the bottom rack with the middle rack at it's lowest setting, which is where it needs to be for tall glasses and wine glasses AND have the 3rd cutlery drawer in place. I would have to do two separate cycles with the middle rack in different positions in order to wash all of my dishes which is SUCH A WASTE of WATER, ENERGY and TIME!!! How could I have noticed something like that looking at the dishwasher in the store? It was an EXPENSIVE purchase and I can't return the darn thing and get something I'd actually be happy with. I'm extremely disappointed: in the product, in home depot and in myself.

Extremely quiet, Cleans Great and drys dishes very well without a heat unit. Express wash with Extra Shine works Excellent. Total wash and shine time is only 59 minutes. Love the 1 minute Auto Power off feature when wash is complete. Easy and clean looking mounting system. Rack system is excellent quality and easy to adjust the middle rack height. Love the plug and pay electrical cord with pre-attached water line and Drain hose. This Bosch unit replaced a brand new Whirlpool that Leaked and Leaked out the front door. No Leaks from this dishwasher! My only complaint is the silverware holder is thin and cheap feeling and my silverware does not fit through the squire dividers(See photo attached). Yes they should definitely make a stronger more useful silverware holder! NOTE: Unit has a very powerful wash cycle and will blow light weight plastic items all over the inside so secure them well when loading the dishwasher. Overall quality of this unit is a 9.8 out of 10. I would strongly recommend this Bosch Dishwasher.

It’s so quiet I’m not sure it’s on, even when I’m standing right next to it! The dishes are sparkling, and everything is dry. I really like the third top rack for things like my long serving spoons and knives. Excellent use of space. I see a Bosch refrigerator in my future.....

Now that I've figured out how to get it to dry my dishes, I like this dishwasher a lot. (Normal + Sanitize option and rinse aid) It is quiet and does a great job of cleaning. I would give 5 stars, except for two things. 1- The body of the dishwasher protrudes about 1-1.5 inches beyond our cabinets. I measured thoroughly, and the depth on the description of this model matched the depth of my former Bosch dishwasher. However, the hoses for the new model sit behind the unit (as oppsed to underneath, like my old one). That means my dishwasher sticks out a bit, and it drives my husband and I a little crazy. 2- The steel shows finger prints and water drops. I have to wipe it constantly.

I level of sound or in this case no sound is amazing. When it was being tested during setup you didn't know it was running until a drain cycle kicked in. the Red operating light a great feature to have. Thanks Bosh

Does everything it claims to do!

We love the three shelves, dishes appear cleaner when we add the finishing rinse-aid. A film is left when we use pod detergents, so we use liquid (cascade). Very happy with our purchase. We usually run a cycle every day.

This one was obviously more expensive, but it doesn't seem to have the right tools. It cleans well, but does not dry well and the setting options are limited for the price. It's a sturdy build and I don't think anything cleans like a Bosch, but the cheaper versions of this dishwasher give better bang for your buck.

It cleans the dishes, but the spacing within the racks is too tight in some places and too spread out in others making it difficult to load. The dry cycle is also very weak. The dishes tend to come out foggy with condensation still on them, I'm guessing due to the eco-friendliness?

Overall we're happy with this dishwasher. A few notes: This is the ADA model. Please note that means this unit will be slightly less tall than the standard units. If you don't need an ADA dishwasher (whether due to disability or that the counter spacing makes it too tight for a regular unit), then look for a regular unit. I am not sure whether the capacity of this model is slightly less than a regular unit, but I would expect it loses an inch or two of internal height. Given the reduced height of this model, you may need to put a small board under each of the four feet to get the desired height, because although the feet have good adjustability (using an included wrench/tool), they may max out before the dishwasher has reached your countertop's height. This comes with a standard prong connector, so if you are expecting it to connect to a hardwire, there will be some additional work to do. I believe that Bosch may offer a hardwire kit separately or you may have to do some wiring to set up a standard outlet to plug this in. The wire is long enough to reach an adjacent cabinet. This also comes with a special drain hose, which I believe contains leak-detecting functionality -- it's certainly not an ordinary flex hose. It also includes a braided metal intake hose. So, you will generally not need to buy any additional components with this dishwasher. If you bought HD's special connection kit as an add-on, you can return it if not needed. What you might need, depending on situation, is a small adapter to connect the braided hose to the angle stop (i.e. the hot water connection). Ideally, all three connections (wire, intake hose, drain hose) need to connect in the adjacent cabinet, so you may well need to cut a large enough hole in the side of the cabinet to allow the connections to pass through. The installation instructions explain the necessary size for the hole. I bought the Bosch because it has a high-reliability rating, and that's what I want my dishwasher to do -- wash the dishes reliably. Many months in, this unit has worked excellently, no issues. I takes just over two hours to run a standard wash cycle. You can reduce the time a bit by running an express cycle. In case you missed this detail: the dishwasher does not have a drying element in it. But it does do a good job of letting the water condense and run off the plates, so they will be mostly dry when you open the door at the end. Plastics, not so much. I don't miss the drying feature, but if you feel you really need it, think carefully before you buy this. Perhaps read up on how this system works to help dry the contents. The system operates quite silently -- most of the noise is going to be from the dishes you loaded, if they are rattling against each other. The pump that circulates the water also has good power -- it will flip over light plastic bowls and other lightweight items if they are not snugged down -- you will know this happened when you open the door at the end of the cycle to find a cup or bowl full of water. :) We love the third rack (the utensil drawer). It doesn't take much space, and it helps ensure that every utensil gets washed on all sides, while also helping ensure that forks and other sharp utensils don't scratch each other's finish. Although the dishwasher included a typical removable basket for utensils, we don't use or need it -- would rather use the space for more plates! The stainless steel interior remains quite clean, especially if you don't have hard water issues. You may wish to periodically remove and clean the mesh strainer mechanism at the bottom of the washer (pull out the lowest rack, and you can remove / clean / reinstall it easily). There aren't a huge number of wash cycles and other special features, but just enough to meet most people's needs. I like the fact that this has a front-facing buttons and display (a red LED display that shows the time remaining for the wash to complete), rather than the newer approach of putting the buttons on the top edge of the door (which makes it hard to do/see anything if there is little space between the counter edge and the top of the door). There are some configurations that you can adjust (refer to the manual), but we are using the machine with its default settings and we're happy with those. Lastly, although our model was not advertised as having a fingerprint-resistant finish, we haven't had much issue with smudging. Perhaps there is some coating, but whatever the case, we haven't had to clean the machine's door.

I love the fact that this dishwasher is very quiet but even a short cycle is just way too long. I wish there was one for about 30 minutes.

This is the best dishwasher we've ever had! I absolutely love everything about it and it gets the dishes sparkling clean. There's no comparison to washing them in the sink I don't know exactly why they're so beautiful they are! The only thing I would change if I was going to re-engineer this would be for the rinse aid to have an easier to use fill. No matter how careful I am trying to get it up to the fill line I end up having some run out which I then have to clean up since I don't want to much rinse aid going into the load. It's a small thing otherwise it's a fantastic machine and we recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat!

This is the worst dishwasher I've ever owned! The dishes come out dripping wet, even with the extra dry feature turned on. It doesn't clean the dishes even when they have been prerinsed. I would never buy another Bosch and I would never recommend it to anyone.

Not overly happy with my new dishwasher. Not as much space due to the 3rd rack (which I do like). Have had a terrible smell since it was installed....like something died in it. Would not buy another one!!!!
