I bought this to replace an existing Nutone ceiling fan. We had installed the original in 1998. I calculate we had run it for over 7500 hours! The heater fan just now starting making noise. Model numbers were 1 trailing letter different. Meant the newer 1 has higher flow fan. I ended up just taking all the new parts from the new fan and installing them into the existing housing. Cheaper than buying parts separate. Parts install from your ceiling side. I did not have to mess with replacing the whole thing or get in the attic. Everything fit great. Newer more powerful fans and heater. Simple and functional. Well engineered. Original lasted a longtime. Replacement worked great. Nutone for me from now on.

Everything worked when I flipped the breaker. Was able to fit it to brackets that had held a Nutone 9090. Had to take it all apart to get it through the hole from below. I carefully followed the wiring schematic and made sure no wire nuts came apart as I shoved the various wires into their boxes.

It was a somewhat complicated install requiring a dedicated circuit, but I love having some heat in my brownstone bathroom!!! Noise level is fine.

This is the thing, after reading countless positive reviews, I cannot believe that NO ONE has mentioned this major aesthetic flaw. Looking up into the light, you see all the inner components of the light, giving a very industrial icky look. you can see a white sticker with blue writing, a red wire, white wire.. it's pretty ludicrous. There is very little aesthetic quality to this light, and I know it's a bathroom light, but look around your house- a lot of design attention is given to your light fixtures. This light has the aesthetic value of a public bathroom. Totally disappointed on that point. When I called Nutone they really didn't seem phased by this issue. The actual product functionality is great. Heater is wonderful, fan is nice and a little noisy which we were hoping for a little bathroom privacy, and you can leave the fan off and just have the light. It is great for all those things. Another complaint is it can take a 100w bulb, but only a 100w incandescent bulb will fit, not a 100w fluorescant or LED. Now I don't know a lot about the tech specs of this, when I called Nutone the guy seemed to feel that a 75w fluorescent is equal to a 100w incandescent. Anyway, I wish we could have a little brighter light in the bathroom, and it is weird that the product seems to be designed for incandescent, when the whole world is trying to move to the future in environmentally responsible products. I ended up getting a 75w led. So bottom line, yes I like it but I thought we were splurging for the $300 model to get something really really nice and it could use some room for improvement. Also, the directions do not correspond at all with the product. My handyman had no trouble, but if you are at all a novice, do not attempt to do this on the weekend as Nutone's technical phone line is closed on the weekends if you have any questions.

This fan is noisy. I wish I'd purchased something else but we wanted the heater. After a few years the white grille is distorted and the paint is pealing. Very poor quality and a replacement grille costs ~$90 !

I replaced a 54 year old Nutone 903 heater dated April 1959 in my Mid-Century home. The old bathroom heater had a housing diameter of 13 1/4 inch - the same as the new QT9093WH! No sheetrock repair and a vent, light and night light instead of just a heater! Quality construction. Metal grill - not the cheap plastic usually found on vents and heaters. Cost a bit more but with it. Looks great and fits the decor perfectly!

Vent lights are rarely offered with heaters these days. Further, the ones that come with heaters are usually large, boxy rectangles. This unit is round and very attractive, a snap to install, quiet and efficient. A great product!!

This is the second unit I've purchased. The first one is installed and works great. The unit has an exhaust fan, light, heater and night light. Nutone provides four rocker switches to operate all the functions. I chose not to use these switches because they're small and in the dark the layout is a bit complex. Instead I installed an 7W LED bulb for the night light, which is on all the time, two regular switches and a timer switch for the heater.

Great exhaust fan really quiet and powerful I love it

This is a nice product and it works well. However, I learned (too late) that it is not great for a bathroom remodel (as opposed to new construction). My prior fan/light was much smaller. Also the electrician needed to run a new wire down to my circuit breaker to hook up the heater element of this fan (which actually blows heat vs. a heating lamp), which added time and expense to the project. If I had known prior to buying I would have gone with a simpler model to save $. All of that said - the fan works great to keep condensation out of the bathroom and I am enjoying the heater, too.

Great unit I install in a freshly renovated bathroom but it’s a bit loud and wiring was super confusing.

Requires four switches to control the functions? Or did my contractor install it incorrectly? We decided to only hook up the fan and heater so the wall wasn’t so crowded with switches.

I have used this heat/fan/light unit since 1984. The first one was installed in a home that I eventually sold in 1986. The second one I owned was installed in 1986. That lasted 34 years....I maintained it regularly and replaced a couple of parts over the years (fan, heat element, thermal element). So far, the unit has held up (as I would expect). It is perfect to help take the edge off those cool spring, fall and winter mornings. Plus, I have not had any mold or mildew issues. That was a result of good mildew resistant paint and proper ventilation with this fan unit.

It works perfectly in my bathroom the heat works great. I just don’t like the noise when the fan is on but other than that im very happy

An excellent heater/exhaust fan. The heater works great so far, the fan is not nearly as noisy as some of the earlier reviews mentioned. The light and night light are also very convenient. I would definitely recommend this unit.

This is the third fan of this kind that I have bought and installed. It is fantastic for exhaust and for heat. It will easily exhaust and heat a 100 to 125 square foot bathroom. I highly recommend this unit

Works well. Blows down heated air or exhaust vent air.

I replaced my old unit with the same model which was in place for probably 20 years. Some people complained that you can see the inner workings of the unit when the light is on. The reason for this is the internal parts are all galvanized and reflect any light. The older units were painted dark brown which eliminated that issue. This new unit seems to run much quieter on the heater side and the fan. Note, the exhaust squirrel cage has to be cleaned every year or so because of a build up of lint on the blades. When the fan doesn't exhaust the humid air as quickly as it did when new, this is usually the issue.
