Need to survey the field? The Wheel Master Pro 12 will be your best friend. It’s light, well built, storable, and easy to use. It comes preassembled and ready to use out of the box. Just snap the main shaft into place to and you’re ready to measure up any landscape up to 9999 ft 11 in. This snap packaging feature allows you to stow the product away without taking up a lot of space but also use convert it into its full size when it needs to be used comfortably. It is built well but also light and easy to maneuver, with the large measuring wheel that’s rugged enough to tackle most terrain. The handle fits well in the hand and with a simple pull of a trigger you can brake the wheel to hone in on those precise measurements. There’s also a thumb button for resetting the distance measuring dial in case you’re too lazy to reach down and reset it with the close proximity green button. The kickstand is a nice touch as well, allowing you to stand up the Wheel Master without it falling over and getting damaged when you lean it against a wall. One of the final little surprises is a simple carrying case which has a main carrying strap and 2 backup straps as well, making it easy to carry around. This is a simple but effective tool for surveying any area.

This is a very compact and easy to use right out of the box measuring wheel. it has a hand brake, kick stand (nice) magnified counter and a button on the handle to reset the counter. It folds down to about half of it's size to store in the included back pack bag, which is very practical because of it's light weight. I tried it out and it was within 1" accurate at 50' pretty good for a job estimate. Very easy to use and store even behind the seat in a pick up truck.

I would rate this product 4.5 stars if I could use half stars. Overall it is a very nice measuring wheel, but I have two minor complaints about it. In terms of overall design I like it a lot. First off it folds (from 38" to 19") which makes transport and storage much easier. (I have another wheel with a retractable handle, but it is much longer when retracted than this is folded.) Also, it comes with a storage case/backpack (it's a zippered case with shoulder straps but no padding), which helps keep it clean and scratch free during storage and transport. It has a spring-loaded metal (not plastic) kickstand. It has a carrying handle for easy lifting and transport when folded. The handle has a brake (keeps the wheel from turning while held) and reset button, so you don't have to bend down to reset things (although there is also a reset button on counter itself). The bottom line is this is nicely designed for real every-day use. Since this is a mechanical wheel, you never have to worry about a dead battery keeping you from being able to measure. The numbers on the mechanical readout are large and easy to read (at least in decent light), and read in 4 digits of feet and one digit of inches. The stated accuracy is 99.7% (+/- 1" per 30'). So far I have only 2 design complaints about this wheel. First, the pointer that hangs down to show exactly where you are measuring is on the right side under a rather large arm, where it isn't easy to see (especially if you are right-handed and operate the wheel with your right hand). For me it would be much easier to see if it were on the left side and not under the housing that apparently connects the wheel to the counter. The second complaint is in the slop in the counter when changing directions: If you change from moving forward to backward, you have to move nearly 3" before the counter will start turning in the other direction. This includes reset, so if you roll the wheel back to get to a starting point and hit reset, you have to move the wheel forward about 3" before it starts counting. The solution to this is to make sure you were turning the wheel forward before hitting reset, but the net result is that I see about 3" of potential starting error, which seems like a lot for a claimed accuracy of 1" in 30'. For most measuring uses I doubt that 3" makes a difference, but it's certainly something to be aware of, and is what kept me from being able to give a full 5 stars to this rating.

My job does not require one of these, but many times over the years I wished I had one for home use. I finally got one and this one is perfect. It is well built and is very simple to use. The numbers are large enough to read without bending down and you can reset them with your foot or with the hand switch. It also has a brake on it, to stop fast, when accuracy is important. It also has a nice stand and carrying case with it. Overall it is a very handy tool to have in your workshop.

The Wheel Master Pro measuring wheel will come in handy for a piece of property I have and need to fence off sections of the property. First off, I love the easy to read counter located above the wheel. The wheel comes with an easy carry bag for storage and travel. The measuring wheel folds in half for storage into the bag or just to reduce the size of the product if you need to get it into a trunk of a car. The hand grip has a built in hand brake for more control over what you are measuring and a handy kickstand to stop, write down measurements and continue on with your project. The counter can be reset in two ways, either by hand on the handle or by foot which ever is easier for you. I took it on a test run inside my home and the measurements were pretty spot on. Remember, this is used for greater distances and not precise short lengths around the house. Over all this measuring wheel is a great value and will be a great asset in your tool box.

Here on the ranch we are always repairing, replacing or adding/removing fence. Measuring distance is something we do a lot. This measuring wheel is the ultimate in measuring wheels. I can't think of anything else we would want from a measuring wheel. The wheel folds in to a compact space and fits in a backpack for carrying or storage, An additional handle is provided for carrying the wheel whilst folded up. The wheel has a trigger operated brake to stop the wheel at precise distances. You can quickly reset the counter on the wheel itself, but also with a trigger on the handle. A large magnified display shows the feet and inches. You can also run the wheel in reverse to count down measurements. A 'kickstand' allows you to leave the wheel freestanding. This is just the ultimate in measuring wheels. A really great product!

This measuring wheel works very easily, the ergonomics are good. It has a spring loaded kick stand that you can operate with your foot so you don't have to bend over, it is light weight and easy to handle. It has a hanging pointers so you know exactly where you are starting and ending. When I measured a 25' tape measure laid on the ground it came out within an inch every time. There is a counter reset on both the handle and on the gauge down by the wheel. It also has a wheel scraper that keeps debris, mud, leaves, rocks etc from getting wedged between the wheel and handle. There is a brake on the handle so you can lock the wheel to keep your measurement. it also has a handle to carry the wheel when it is folded up. The gauge is large enough to be easily read from the standing position even without my glasses. It comes with a backpack bag that also has a carrying handle. All in all it is a well thought out and easy to use, lightweight measuring wheel. It even has a wrist strap so you don't drop it. I like it. The only glitch I had with it is that the reset at the handle only reset the gauge half way one time and I had to push the reset down by the wheel that only happened once.

This is a really full-featured measuring wheel which shows excellent design by the manufacturer. This wheel is much better than others I have used over the years. It easily folds for storage (see picture) in a zippered case supplied with the wheel. It has two reset buttons for the counter mechanism, one at the top of the handle (so less bending over! Good!) and another next to the counter itself. It has reflective tape on the front of the shaft for better visibility in low light situations. It even has a neat kick stand (see picture) so you can stand it up while you take notes or pictures. The handle (see picture) is very comfortable to grip, and, unlike lesser quality wheels, this wheel has a braking mechanism that is easily activated from the handle. It also has a built-in carrying handle that can be used when it is folded (see picture). I highly recommend this measuring wheel due to all of these excellent features. A lot of thought went into the design!

I really like the quality and features of this Wheel Master Pro measuring wheel from Calculated Industries. I put the unit to use as soon as it arrived, measuring for a 700' underground conduit run, and I found it to be a huge improvement over what I had been using prior. Among the features that I found most convenient was the integrated kickstand, so that I did not have to lay the unit down while inputting measurements to my tablet. Also, being able to reset the counter from the grip, as well as at the counter itself, is a great feature. The lens over the counter in magnified, allowing for very easy reading of the counter while in use, even with my older eyes. The unit folds up to only 19" in length, making it very easy to store behind the bench seat in my work truck. A bonus backpack-style carrying case was included. The unit is made in Taiwan, and has a 2-year warranty.

The Wheel Master Pro 12.5 in. Measuring Wheel with Backpack Carrying Case is the best of the 3 wheels I've owned. The large heavy duty wheel easily covers uneven/rough surfaces quickly. The ability to reset the counter from the hand grip is a definite plus. The included backpack makes storage/carrying a plus. This will probably be last measuring wheel I ever will need. A great buy!

This is a well-made and innovative measuring wheel built to professional standards with a claimed accuracy of +/- 1” in 30’. The pistol grip handle is easy and comfortable to hold and features controls to operate the brake and reset the counter. The counter window is magnified making it easy to see the result without having to stoop or lift the tool. The rubber tired wheel has a built in kickstand that can be operated with a foot. The wheel itself feels solid and turns easily without any hint of side to side movement. Rolling the measure backward reduces the count so the feet and inches measurement is always accurate when the operator decides where the measurement stops. The tool is comfortably weighted and, dare I say, pleasurable to use! Of course one of the most important aspects of any measurement tool is accuracy. I laid a 25’ tape measure out on the basement floor and rolled the wheel the length of it and it measured 25’ exactly. Calculated Industries standard is 30’ so I turned the wheel around and went back over the length of the measure again. The 50’ mark was also spot on. This is confirmation for me that this tool is made accurately. The wheel folds in two with the push of a button for carrying with the built in handle and it also fits neatly inside the included backpack. Last but not least this product has a two year warranty.

I like the features on this Wheel Master Pro. The kick stand to keep the wheel upright while you input data or write measurements down. Hand break and counter zero reset on the handle. Slow the wheel or stop with a pull of the finger. Reset the counter with a push of a button or reset at the wheel. Magnified glass on the counter makes it easy to read the numbers. All this stores nicely in the included backpack carrying case.

Calculated Industries has definitely paid attention to the details with this Wheel Master Pro model. Unless you have used a different brand or style of measuring wheel, you may not appreciate some of these details, but based on my admittedly limited experience with measuring wheels, the improvements in this Pro model are very nice. I have previously used a different brand of measuring wheel (orange color) that I thought was well made, but now that I have used the Wheel Master Pro, I realize that the small features make a big difference. The biggest difference, which is huge, is that the measuring mechanism is centered on the Wheel Master Pro, and is not a bulky box sticking out of the side. This makes a significant difference in the balance, and makes this Pro model very easy to use. You aren't constantly fighting to balance the measuring wheel--it just rolls along with minimal effort. If you regularly use measuring wheels, I think this design feature alone is worth getting the Pro model. Next is the folding handle. The other measuring wheel I have used had a 3 segment collapsable handle. While that handle was compact, having to unlatch the and extend the 3 segments and then relatch them wasn't nearly as simple as unfolding the Pro handle and clicking it into place. While this Pro model doesn't have an adjustable length handle, given how measuring wheels work, I don't think that this is an issue--the single length handle should work well for most people. The third detail that makes a big difference, which might surprise you, is the backpack carrying case. Measuring wheels, even when folded down, are odd shaped and not convenient to store, carry, or stow away. Simply having a simple bag to store the wheel in is so much more convenient, and the basic backpack style straps make it easy to carry with you if you are having to take other things with you. You probably won't want to hike with the backpack, but if you are heading to a job site or a sports field and have to lug other things, being able to carry this on your shoulder or back is a big convenience. The wheel is very well made and very solid. All of the parts feel strong and nothing feels flimsy--it is a commercial grade product. If you need to use a measuring wheel regularly, I think that this Pro model is well worth the relatively small price difference, and I think that it is a much better, more thoughtful design than the other brand that I used.

I love the weight, the sturdy quality, the mechanical counter, it has meet all my expectations thus far.

I have owned many measuring wheels over the years and this one by far the best one i have ever purchased.

Easy to use, do not have to bend over to reset the counter, folds for easy storage.

Works great. Have only had it a short time, so time will tell if it holds up. I use it for my Pest Control Company, so it will get a workout.

Product came exactly how it was explained in the ad. I was also happy how they packaged the product, it actually had air bubbles and etc to product the product while in transit. So when I received the wheels it was in Perfect condition still.

This wheel is big, heavy and not so portable or compact when folded.
