Hello William, thank you for reaching out to us regarding the tilt mechanism. This umbrella comes with a push tilt feature meaning this umbrella has a push button to release the tilt feature. This push button is silver and is located near the top of the umbrella pole. Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues. Thank you.
