Worls Great, just has an issue on the legs
i bought this on the 15th of april, and for some reason as i was assembling it, the screw holes on the legs had only one screw in. so when i placed it down, it would shake but stay stable enough to burn.

This is the best stove available for it's weight class. It is not a back pack stove as it weighs 70 lbs. There is one caveat I have run into. It has a tapered chimney. So, if you need an elbow to allow venting through the side of the tent you won't be able to keep the stovepipe that came with it. Let me explain further: The stovepipe that connects to the stove is 5" and the top piece where the smoke leaves the stovepipe is 6". Ordinary stovepipe comes in even sizes so it won't fit in between. At best, you'd have to buy new stove pipe in one standard size. If you do that you won't be able to "nest" the original stove pipe in the stove for storage. The nesting stove pipe is the reason storage in the stove is possible. If you don't need to use an elbow, you can easily run your chimney straight up through the roof using the original stovepipe. That's assuming you don't have canvas seams to worry about cutting. I love my stove and recommend it......but, check out where the stove will fit in your tent first.

      Absolutely perfect
This stove will burn for several hours if you load it right, with big pieces of wood. Puts out a lot of heat too. It also has a large flat cook top that will hold several pans. Great purchase.

        Awesome Stove
This is a awesome stove but make sure you test it out prior to reaching your destination. The chimney is designed for top exit wall tent not side exit - so get the correct fittings from your larger big box retailers. We struggled but finally made it work and had a great time around a nice warm fire (lucky we had a backup heater)

This stove is well constructed of heavy duty steel and performs above expectations. I recommend adding sheet metal screws for the stovepipe to ensure that it stays straight and together in high winds. It is imperative that you “burn-in” or cure your stove after purchase and before use inside a tent.

i seasoned the stove as per instructions, and it burns great.i haven't used it in my tent yet, but expect it will heat it fine. the nesting stove pipe must have sheet metal screws in wind and i installed a bolt with a fender washer to hold it to the stove. the supposedly adjustable legs can not be.

The stove cylinder is heavy duty enough. My issue is the venting didn't interlock all the way I had to recrimp the ends to fit inside each other. Also I had to straighten the racks to fit in the holes on the sides of the stove after all that it worked great

THANK YOU this Alpine Chef stove has made ALL the difference in below zero weather conditions at high altitude in Colorado in the last few weeks! It starts well, stovepipes draw well, and it maintains a very nice BTU environment in our late 1800's cottage behind Pikes Peak.We have successfully whistled up teakettle for cocoa and tea, and the rack dried snowy collars in record time. It was not hard to install, and I am loving it!From 7 woodstoves owner - the only stove that out performed this one was the antique pot belly, and it still had a much less cooking area!

Not too much room to adjust legs. if you decide to buy a rain cap for the chimney make sure is 8" wide not 5" as each section gets wider from the previous one

                I love this stove!
I've had this stove for 5 years and I cook on it all the time. You should know that if you get it really hot and cook in a heavy dutch oven directly on the top, it will start to sag in the middle and you won't have a flat top anymore. I got a grate from an oven that is a couple of inches wider than the stove top and put on it to set the dutch oven on and it stopped the sagging but I haven't figured out how to fix the sag unless maybe with a torch and a bottle jack. I LOVE the stove though! I would not hesitate to get another one.

Simple, easy design with heavy duty steel construction. As long as you have plenty of dry wood, your golden. If camping or hunting I suggest bringing wood with you just In case the place you are going has gotten rain or covered in snow.
