Wire is wire and and this is what you would expect for building wiring. The product is advertised as having an embedded lubricant in the outer sheath which is supposed to make it easier to pull the wire. My only other experience is with the Romex brand which advertises something similar and I cannot tell whether this is really any different. This product has a light blue sheath which is different color coding than I have seen before for this type of wire. I did notice that this wire's outer sheath is easier to remove that other wire that I've used.

I like this Cerromax wire. It's a plastic sheathed, 14 gauge, three wire (black ,red and white) with a ground. I'm an advanced DIYer that has been remodeling homes for more than 30 years, so I've worked with a lot of wire over the years. Cerromax 's real claim to fame with this wire is the color of the jacket. It makes it easy, instant, to see what wire has been strung in the walls. this 14/3 wire is blue. I also have their 12/3 wire which is purple. The sheathing is a nice, thick and sturdy plastic as is the plastic insulation on the individual conductors. The other advantage they advertise is their SLiPWire technology where the polymer (plastic) of the jacket actually lubricates a pull. I only had to pull a short distance, but I did notice it was marginally easier than other plastic jacketed wires I have used. For the average DIYer this is probably not a big factor, but I can see it being a huge plus for professional electricians. I definitely recommend. .

Very flexible, easy to work with, pulls easily around corners or through old construction, very identifiable and stacks nicely. Cerromax 14/3 NM-B wire is a three wire with ground intended for indoor residential use. All four wires are laid flat allowing for ease of stacking and stapling. The covering is a color-coded self-lubricating polymer (Slipwire) that can be purchased in either light blue or white. The wire is rated as type B, fully insulated and 600 volts. I had no projects with conduit so I could not test its ability to slide through conduit, but I did find it very easy to work with on my addition of adding a 3-way light switch. Being able to use colors to identify what gauge wire it is would be a wonderful help in new construction, but I am really starting to like it as I try and rewire my electrical nightmare of an old house. I can say that the Cerromax made my life easier and found no issues with its quality. Product is made in the USA, recommended.

Th CERROMAX 250 ft. 14/3 Light Blue NM-B Wire is relatively standard 14/3 romex wire used for any 15-amp circuit where three conductor wires are needed such as a three-way switch circuit or wiring both a fan and light in a room. The light blue color makes this wire very easy to identify as compared with typical white color for 14/2 circuits. Also, tracing back circuits to the electrical panel is simplified and less confusing. The wire is good quality, fully insulated, and did not notice any inconsistency in the wire casing. It is very easy to work with and flexible. I would recommend and would purchase/use this in the future.

This 600-Volt, grounded, jacketed NM-B cable is used in 4 wire residential wiring. CerroMax's new SLiP Wire technology is for easier pulling. Better than ROMEX in conduit. Can be installed in both exposed and concealed work in dry locations and voids of masonry block or tile walls that are not exposed to excess moisture or dampness for code. The insulation is rated for 90°C, and the overall cable is limited to 60°C ampacity per the NEC. The new, better Romex!

Wire is wire, right? Sort of. I really like this 14/3 wire because the four wires are flat across the jacket rather than being stacked. It makes it much easier handle, staple, split and connect. If you have a narrow opening to squeeze through it easily compresses into a more round shape. The outer jacket and the individual wire insulation seems strong yet the insulation strips off easily and cleanly. I prefer this arrangement of wires.

I was wiring in a new switched outlet, and thought why not try a 14/3 instead of running 2 14/2? This wire caught my interest as it also claimed to have a special jacket material that "slips" better during pulls. It's a nice blue color (not that it matters) but does make the difference stand out. The insulation packing is small enough that this 4-conductor cable is the same size as another 3 conductor cable I had on hand. Strips cleanly and easily both the outer jacket and the individual wires. Well worth it.

Whenever performing remodeling or upgrading a room, or doing a full on build, you'll want to consider using CERROMAX wire 14/3 blue NM-B. This wire is blue to tell the electrical inspector at a distance, this is a 3 conductor wire in 14 gauge. Typically 14 ga wire will be used for lighting but can be used in receptacles when used with a 15 amp circuit breaker. However, 12 gauge is preferred for wall plugs. 4 conductor wire (14/3) allows for a number of uses where 14/2 (3 conductor) can't be used. 14/3 simply means the wire has the usual black and white leads plus ground but additionally has a red lead where as traditional 14/2 wire only has black, white and the bare ground (no red wire). The red wire is used generally for 3 way switches which are required for stairways and rooms with 2 or more entry points. The red wire traverses each switch allowing the light to be turned on from the top or bottom of the stairway. For rooms with multiple entry's it performs the same function although rooms with more than 2 entry's can be fitted with switches at any or all entry points. 2 entry's, it's called a 3 way switch. 3 entry's is a 4 way switch and so on. In any of the scenario's mentioned above where the electrical requires inspection, the blue color of this wire enables the electrical inspector to be able to see from a distance that the wire isn't only the proper size but that it is also 4 conductor as required wherever a 3 way switch is necessary. This can help speed up inspections allowing you to get back to work closing walls.

Latest improvements to type NM-B electrical wiring include jacket color coding and advances in jacket material composition to provide greater flexibility when installing. This 14/3 version by Cerromax is now available with a light blue jacket for easier identification during inspections. Having a third conductor of a different color (in this case red) helps minimizing confusion when wiring certain applications as 3 way switches or for splitting the function of a duplex outlet so that one socket is "always on" and the other can be controlled separately by a switch which would be useful for operating a lamp before entering a darkened room

I do very much like this Cerromax copper indoor wire, makes is very east to see the wire size being used and using inside a house, etc. the Slipwire technology make it very easy to pull thru and over wood or metal framing and being the the #14 wire is a light blue color and would have loved if my nephew has use it on his new house that he installed the wire and I then made up and having different color wires would have made it much easier to trace some of the pulls rather that having to test them. Sure when I was doing home construction and had a few new people working on the home would make my job much faster to check it was done as I wanted. Great product to the Mvf Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway Co a US company

It’s just electrical wire so it wasn’t about the product…what was great was I approached by an employee while I was still looking for the location of the cable and he walked me right to it and unlocked the box (they are all in locked box for security) and got it out for me. It was a pleasure to not have to spend 20 minutes looking for someone to assist me

More expansive than supply house and stores have locked this wire up and say "see the cashier for rolls at lumber door". Not all stores are smart enough to have 14/3 located there. Some only have 14/2 and 12/2. Some sales floor people don't even know there is 250' rolls of 14/3 on the sales floor. They could only find 25', 50' and 100'. Not having quick access is a pain.

Thin Sheathing
The price is high and the quality is low, seems like the sheathing keeps getting thinner.

Different color is very useful
high quality, nice contrasting color. I am rewiring my 120 year old house and simply adding new circuits and then disconnecting the old questionable stuff. The contrasting color is an easy way to tell the lines apart. And it looks great too!
