These are actually 1.75 not 2 inch. I do not know if other valances are actually smaller than advertised.
These clips will break over time. Get use to it. Mine are ~ 7 years old. Price is reasonable for valance clips.

Notoriously brittle over time
I've yet to have one of these stay in one piece on removal and got tired of paying the piper, so my alternative: VELCRO!

exact fit
My only question is how the heck are people breaking these? They are very flexible and fit perfectly.
clip them over the top place the bottom of the board in the clip and push the top in till they click in place. That easy. yes they are expensive and I would not recommend if you need a lot of them, but for replacing one or two, its very convient to buy them at the store.

Break easily, expensive - MUCH better options available for less
These clips are junk. Break easily and for $1.50 each that is ridiculous. Bought 3 packs, returned the 2 non-broken ones and bought elsewhere. Correct, no other options here.
Search Amazon for 2.5" valance clips and there are plenty. They fit Grand Wood blinds just fine. I bought pack of 22 for $8 and another pack of 20 in a slightly different style for $6. None broke on installation and I have extras without spending a fortune.

Bad, but no choice
While replacing windows, broke some of these. Yes, it is too fragile to break. My "old" cover has square edge on top and bottom. This new replace one has round edge to barely hold square cover. Not to mention the price. But do I have choice?

Need a better solution
I figured out why they come in packs of two - because at least one of them will break before it's mounted. There needs to be a better solution for this, for example, PVC or other more flexible/stronger material. These things snap under less pressure than what's required to mount them. VERY frustrating, especially for the price!! I would give a much higher review if a 10-pack was $3, but at $1.50 for EACH CLIP it's just ridiculous. The blinds are reasonably priced, but they clobber you on the much-needed and often-replaced parts.

stuck like Chuck
$3...really?? The product breaks down in the sun, expect to replace them annually. And the are not available anywhere else. But it's the only product that is made to do the job.
