This is my new favorite headlamp. I already had a good headlamp that was my favorite and it was also a Coast. So it was a natural to try this one. My other uses 3 AAA batteries which is nice but the battery compartment can be hard to open. This one uses either the included rechargeable battery which is nice or you can use regular lithium 123 batteries which are not hard to find although they cost more than alkaline AAA’s. Time will tell how the batteries stack up against my other coast headlamp. I typically prefer the more common batteries but this may do well too. But out of the gate so far the battery is doing great. The hidden charging port is neat and easy to find. There’s nothing on this light I needed instructions for except to confirm how to tell when it was fully charged. It has a green LED in the button to aid with that. The build is solid sturdy metal. It fits very tight in the clip that lets it ratchet up and down. It will stay where you put it but it is not overly hard to ratchet just very firm. And the beam adjustment is simple like it should be. This is just a really well built light and I think it is easily worth every penny of the selling price given the quality. The strap is good and heavy and stays adjusted where you put it. So far it don’t stretch out like some. The magnet is a nice little touch and is quite strong. It will hold the light where you stick it. But I will be keeping it on my noggin most of the time. But still you never know what situation you will find yourself in where that will be handy. When I first held it I thought this is a little heavy for a headlamp. But once I adjust the strap and put it on I did not feel that way. Other than the slightly more expensive batteries it takes I can find no cons to this one. I have a good little collection of Coast lights and they are all built well. It is good to see they are consistent. It’s hard to find that in any brand these days.

I have been a builder and remodeler for 50 years, and in my work I often have need for a dependable headlight when working on the job site where I need to see what I’m doing. And it works very well in other settings too. That’s where a light like this COAST XPH30R 970 LUMENS RECHARGEABLE DUAL POWER LED HEADLAMP, BLACKS is invaluable. It throws a lot of light, and the light throws a lot of light in either a spotlight beam or floodlight beam. Nice light!

I just recently purchased this product to give it a try and I don’t regret it! It’s amazing slick looking and comfortable I work in HVAC and I’m constantly in tight spots and this headlamp is perfect for the job specially the magnet on the side it comes in handy!

This LED headlamp is very bright and love the strong magnet and the different lighting modes . You can charge it through the headlamp port with battery installed or remove the battery and it has its own port integrated in battery . You can also use either the one battery it comes with or you can purchase two smaller batteries that fit as well and they also come with the ingratiated USB charging ports and the charger provided with headlamp has two USB leads so you can charge two batteries at once . I highly recommend this headlamp and you will really like the magnet that's built into it that is very strong and comes very handy .

The Coast LED Headlamp is comfortable and extremely bright. I do not advise looking directly into the light, it’s blinding. I put it on and looked up at my ceiling to see if a recent roof repair worked and luckily it did. I could see a few stains I previously painted over that were not visible with the naked eye. I also started noticing dust hanging from the ceiling that I did not know was there, so I was able to clean those areas. This will come in handy while I paint the ceiling and walls where there is inadequate lighting, as well as for cleaning ceilings and walls, HVAC filter replacement and plumbing repairs. I usually call someone to hold a flashlight, but now I won't need to do that. It was already partially charged and ready to use when I got it. It comes with a USB charging cable. The headband is adjustable and comfortable, and the light itself is easy to use.

The only reason I'm not giving this headlamp 5 stars for overall rating is that I can't wear it with my cap and still have it point where I need to have lit up. Other than that, I love it! It is very dark in my tack room in my barn if the power is off, and as you can see in the pictures, this little light does a good job of illuminating what I aim it at. I took the pictures with my camera, and it is almost impossible to get a picture without the flash - but this little headlamp lit it up enough the flash on the camera didn't go off. I am sure I will get a lot of use out of it. Love that it can be recharged and also that it has adjustable brightness too.

I have many different headlamps, cause I use them alot all over the home and car. Head lamps gives you that hand-free ability without having to hold onto a flashlight or need to position a unit that sits on the floor. Most of the time you need the light to be right where you are looking at. Also with a headlamp its so easy to position it where you need it. This one is unique when I open the box, its metal, All metal aluminum headlamp and battery unit together. The only plastic part is the bracket that holds it and the elastic strap goes thru it. Here is one thing I didn't like but its really preference. I prefer headlamps that has the battery pack separate from the headlamp itself. Usually ones that have the battery pack that is in the back and has wires to the headlamp in the front. I found those type of units more balanced. It felt kind of heavy on the forehead with this unit having the battery pack and headlamp integrated together. Even with moving my head around with it on. Don't get me wrong, this is made to be heavy duty, it's not cheap thin aluminum, its rugged heavy duty aluminum. To charge the unit, the charging port is hidden, you have to halfway unscrew one end and you will see the USB-C charging port. The package comes with a USB-C one end to USB & USB-C on the other end of the cord. That gives you the flexibility to us a USB or USB-C to charge. Red led until fully charged will turn green. I do like the focus ring on this unit. It is easier to change with simple turning of the focus ring on the lamp head. I don't like the difficulty of tilting it against the plastic bracket. I worry about that it may wear out or break eventually. Wish they had a better design of how it tilts. Wish it was also aluminum and smooth but its not. When cycling thru the switch goes from Medium beam to High beam to Low beam to {when hold down it goes to Turbo.} Turbo is the brightest light level. It comes with a single rechargeable Li-Ion Battery. Note that on one end of the battery pack is the light switch and on the other end is magnetized. It's pretty strong if you want to set it on a metal surface that it will stick hold too. Made in China. Overall if your looking for a metal heavy duty made headlamp, this could work for you.

I always thought these headlamps looked ridiculous, then I tried one. This headlamp is made out of aluminum not plastic. It is not heavy and feels comfortable when on your head. The light is very bright and is adjustable from wide to sorta fine beam and lights up a 6 foot area on wide beam. I have been rewiring a car and wish I had this light at the start of the project. Having a light that shines where you are looking vs trying to hold a flashlight or positioning a drop light is definitely the way to go. The headlamp is rechargeable and it comes with a battery that can be removed and charged separately from the lamp. It will also use disposable CR 123 lithium batteries. It also has a warranty for the life of the original purchaser.

This is by far the best headlamp I've ever owned. Small powerful lightweight. U can't go wrong with this one. Unfortunately I lost mine so I'm gonna have to get another one. Keep innovating guys!

I am very pleased with how this light works. I purchased it a few weeks ago and it's my go to light for everything. Battery life is really good and love that it's rechargeable.

The coast headlamp is an excellent selection for hands free lighting. It allows you to work comfortably. The light has has 3 setting whichvarevvery useful for different areas of viewing. I'd recommend this product to anyonevneeding hands free capability.

I'm actually impressed with how long the battery lasts, and how fast it charges. Being able to pop it off the head and use the magnetic feature helps a lot in tight spots like water heater closets. It's kinda bulky on the head, but worth the extra power and lumens in my opinion

Extremely bright headlamp! Very pleased with purchase.

Feels solid and performs really well. Extremely well made and works so much better than my old camping headlamp. The ability to charge the ZX850 battery without having to remove it is very convenient as is the color battery state indicator. The beam focus feature allows for getting the right amount of light on a precise location in a dark space without glare coming back to your eyes. I also bought a spare ZX850 battery which gives me confidence that I can swap batteries, charge the battery and keep on working. Unit is a little heavier than I thought it would be and that seems due to the weight of the ZX850 battery. Still, its comfortable to wear for extended periods even without a hat on.

I’ve been using this exact headlight since it came out all my workers wear them to we do heavy equipment repair and maintenance and it’s the only headlight that can handle what we put them through and coast is great about any kinda warranty don’t have many especially since they are used every day all day
