This was easy to put together and looks great. It's lots of space for one or two little kids. The only problem I had was that the wood split easily when screwing in the screws. It's not easy to see exactly where the screw is going. Based on previous reviews it looks like this product has been improved. No falling apart and the cover is adequate. I just put bricks on top the keep it a little more secure.

Way smaller than expected. Even when measured on the diagonal. Don’t be fooled, there is mo way 3 kids will fit in this sandbox

I wasn't expecting much but omg
Terrible quality. The wood splits when you screw the screws. Nothing to hold the bottom planks together. There is no cover, despite the pictures. A 2 year old kid sitting on the side has enough weight to rip the screws out of the wood.
Just pretty terrible all around.

It needs a way to secure each layer of boards...
It needs a way to secure each layer of boards together besides the Lincoln log approach. When assembled and full of sand, it will lift apart when simply removing the cover. Holes should be drilled prior to inserting screws to prevent the wood from splitting.

The sides are stacked up "Lincoln Log" style, but the top seat boards should be screwed down into the sides to prevent the sandbox from coming apart. Our instructions also suggest only using a screwdriver to assemble, as this is a soft wood and can split from a drill. If the sandbox is still coming apart despite having the seat boards screwed down, please reach out to us at support@creativecedardesigns.com for further assistance.

Easy to put together. Kinda like linken logs. Only down fall is that it doesn’t stay together. You need to set it up where it’s going to be and don’t move it. It is not secured with anything only placed together in notches.

Moisture does come up from the bottom into the sand, but wet sand is fun for a change so it works ok.

Very disappointed with this purchase. Wood splintered, screws pulling loose and it's been used twice by my 4 year old granddaughter. Also, the stitching on the cover is pulling and looks ready to tear. Has been set up for about two weeks.

The sandbox was big hit with our 18 month old...
The sandbox was big hit with our 18 month old granddaughter although the lip of the sandbox is not as sturdy as I’d like, it works for a toddler. I could easily see how the edge would break or split if an older child stepped on it or possibly even sat on it. Otherwise the fact that it came with a cover was a plus for keeping critters out and the sand clean.

Cheap wood that splinters easily
We got this and it cracked on assembly with my tiny 5 year old barely pushing one of the grooves in place. Then again with one of my own pieces. 3 major cracks before we could even get it put together. The company was willing to replace boards which is great but after seeing all of the splinters we were worried it was a safety hazard. Returned.

much smaller than described
I bought this for my kids and went to set it up and quickly noticed it was not anywhere near 5 x 4 feet. Needless to say it is going back and now i have 2 very disapointed girls.
