This is not grout

I purchased this product since I only had a small vanity backsplash to grout. I was a bit skeptical when on the label I read "silicone caulk". I spoke with the person in paint and he confirmed it was just like grout. Well it is not. Luckily I tried a small sample from remnant cuts, it applied like grout. I started cleaning up and then went to sponge the grout and it was nearly hardened and sticky. This is more caulk than grout. I suggest using the Polyblend Plus unsanded grout it worked well and was 1/3 the cost. However, Home Depot is great I did get a full refund

Poor quality…did I get old product?

I’ve done a lot of caulking over the years and never had this much trouble with a product. I don’t know if I got a very old tube or what, but the color was off, the caulk was very sticky and very, very hard to squeeze out of the tube (yes, I punctured the seal first). The caulk was sticky as far as trying to smooth it out, but when squeezing out of the tube, it kept falling off the wall or not adhering to the area that I was trying to apply it to. It was basically a disaster.

Not paintable with paint I used. I used it for a very wet outdoor application, I thought because it was the very expensive silicone it was paintable. The guy at the store said it should be paintable. The tube did not say it was or was not. I have seen silicone that on the label said not paintable in the past. My issue with the product is the labeling.
