Doesn't fit Waste King L8000. It fit our previous Sears disposal but unfortunately not our new Waste King L8000. Great product if it fits your disposal.

I had one of these for many years. Time to replace but the shopping network I purchased from no longer carried. Did a Google search and to my delight discovered Home Depot carries them. Conveniently ordered online, ready same day for pick up. Excellent price, no shipping charges and this model has microban and is dishwasher safe. Does what it claims; allows food particles to drop through while keeping silverware, jewelry etc. out and safe. Has a rubber scraper to clean plates. An inexpensive, genius gadget that makes life easier.

This Garbage Disposal Genie is a must have for every kitchen with a garbage disposal. It is well built of sturdy plastics and has a built-in scraper. The scraper is perfect for clearing the leftovers off dishes, pots or pans and into the disposal - a major benefit. It fit perfectly in our In-Sink-Erator disposal and is easy to clean by just placing in the dishwasher. My only warning is to be aware when grinding large items in the disposal, the Genie may be knocked out of the drain when the waste hits the scraper portion of the Genie that extends into the disposal.

Great idea even though my drain size is a little small. The package clearly indicates it is for drains of at least 3.25 inches. My drain is closer to 3 inches. As a result the genie doesn't fit down into the cavity of the disposal. Consequently, items can make their way into the disposal (if they're oriented just right - see pic). Regardless, I wanted something to stop most items from dropping into the disposal and this works fine. Eventually I'll get another disposal and assume the "genie" will fit just fine.

This was a spur of the moment purchase and the best purchase I made in a long time. My wife thinks this product is fantastic and that I was a genius to buy it. Works as advertised no more smelly strainer no more accidental silverware getting chipped up. I would buy again but it is so well made I don't think I will have to.

Perfect fit. I've had this one for several years and besides becoming a little discolored, it works great. I can rinse a sink full of dishes without worrying that flatware or some other object is going to get sucked down the disposer. Gone are the days of chewed up spoons and bent forks. It is an brilliant invention. Perfect idea.

I love the concept of this item and bought one 6 years ago to use with an old garbage disposal whose rubber flange allowed everything to go down the drain. It has worked perfectly since. So when I got a new kitchen sink and disposal, I immediately went out and bought another (the old sink, disposal and Genie are in the outdoor kitchen). To my dismay, the newer Insinkerator has a slightly larger opening (almost 1/4" in diameter) and this extra space allows the Genie to bob and bang around instead of sitting securely in the opening when the disposal is running. It often gets stuck at a cock-eyed angle, requiring some effort to free it (see photo). It would be nice to have a slightly larger version to avoid this problem. Still, it is better than having unwanted items drop down the disposal!

My first genie still works but after 5 years it's discolored on the bottom. When I saw they now come in colors I had to have the red one for my black composite granite sink. No more losing small items to the garbage disposal and it looks really sharp. I get many inquiries about it when people visit my house. I even give them as part of a bridal or housewarming gift. The price is very affordable. Love, Love, Love it and highly recommend it.

I love this item. My son gave me my first one 5 yrs. ago. Even though it works find it was looking a little yucky at the tip so I bought a new one. I love the new colors. Having a black composite granite sink I decided to go with red. I gave one as a house warming gift to a friend and she loves it. Everyone asks her where she got it. I wouldn't live without mine.

Initially this was a complete impulse buy that solves a very annoying problem for me. I fear/hate sticking my hands in the garbage disposal to find something that dropped in there. This product completely prevents small objects and utensils from falling into the disposal. The design is perfect for water and small food particles to continue to flow down the drain while inserted into the disposal. It is really awesome and even has the dual function of being a scraper to get the "gunk" off the dishes easily. Very happy with this product purchase, I even plan to buy two more as a gift for my mom and sister. For such a small purchase it really saves me stress in the kitchen--wish I invented this! I went with black for my own kitchen, but expect to get color options for my gifts.

Recommended by our plumber who installed our disposal. Allows water to drain but keeps spoons etc. from going into the disposal. Great gadget! Would definitely recommend!

This is the greatest thing! After numerous occasions over the years of having something slip into the garbage disposal and the nuisance of trying to safely remove the item, We were elated to discover the Disposal Genie. No more small juice glasses falling through and breaking and the glass chips caught underneath and preventing the disposal from working. No more silverware falling in unnoticed. It didnt happen all the time but when it did it always seemed to happen at the wrong time. Its just a nuisance having to deal with fishing broken things out, and making sure its safe to be operate again. Our son just moved to a new job in a new state and we bought him one of these and told him it will prevent many headaches over the years. We also got one for our daughter who will be moving out in a year or so. They'll never know about accidental 'disposal headaches' if they use the Disposal Genie. Best nine or ten dollars ever spent!

This is a simple yet awesome addition for the kitchen. I have kids and their spoons, medication droppers and random items would fall into the garbage disposal. This device has changed all that. The food does fall through the sides and makes cleaning up fearless. I will buy this again in the future as well as make it part of my new born baby packages.

What a wonderful little gadget that really works! Worth every penny. Wish I knew about it sooner.
