Very slow, air nailer is much faster

this roofing nailing is amazing i completed a 25 square roof with no problem

I have many Dewalt 20v tools and love each and every one of them. This particular tool has left me disappointed. While using on a small shed roof, it would randomly leave nails partially driven and then not shoot the next nail at all. For the money, I expected better results. For the next job, I will definitely have the compressor and air nailer for backup.

Bought on line ship to store. Was supposed to be new in box, box was beat up and the tool had obviously been used. The Returns person really didn't seen to care that the product had been used, I couldn't just exchange for another. I received a refund and bought the tool at another store for $100. dollars less.

The gun doesn’t have the ability to really rapid fire like a pneumatic gun does it’s basically only good for repairs. Has a hard time fully driving the nails constantly having to hammer nail heads down

I do roof repairs for a living. 2 bundles or less I'm using this. You take care of it, and it will take care of you. I love this nail gun.

Works fine for hanging siding .haven't hade significant jams yet .

Beats the heck outta setting up air and pulling around a line for roof repairs!

Nails faster than expected

Great idea but poor execution on the part of Dewalt. I purchased this to roof a small shed and had to stop twice to charge the battery. When you’re trying to get a job done, having to stop that frequently doesn’t do you any good. And it is rather heavy even with the small battery.

Good gun. Shoots a little hard even on the lowest setting. Not sure why the head unit rattles when oscillated

I use it to in stall metal trim on post frame buildings. Love it.

Each time k went to pick this unit up they were sold out. I decided to get a box of nails and just hammer the roof in. The day before project I decided to get some last minute items and gave a chance to see if they had received any new units. Hidden in the upper rafters was one box. About 30 minutes into installing the roofing I thanked GOD for allowing there to be this one unit. Makes things so easy. Did have a couple jams but as long as you keep your nails wound properly then you don’t get any jams. Only has 5 Jams the entire room install. Quick and easy fix.

Junk! I purchased this unit last year to do shingles on my 3 sheds. I managed to get one done and the gun failed. I looked at the hammer pin because it was jammed. Something allowed it to rotate and bind. I turned it back to it proper alignment and it jammed again. Don't buy this tool. It's a pile of junk and cost way more than what it's worth. I have lots of other dewalt tools and this was a total failure! I'm building my house next and can't afford this kind of high priced junk!

Honestly, your time is worth more than the $500 dollars you will spend on this tool and the nails. If you are doing any size home roof this is just practically needed now. It will save you hours of putting nails in shingles plus save you energy from hammering the nails in. Very satisfying to use but it is top heavy weighted so it can be unwieldly to hold for a long period of time. I recommend using it with the battery it comes with and not the larger DeWALT battery. Adding more weight to this tool makes it harder to hold up for longer periods. Small battery lasts about 1-2 hours of constant use, so when not using it put it back on the charger.

By far one of the best purchases I've made. I've owned the same dewalt 20v roofing nailer since day one and I bought it in 2021 and have done multiple roofs with zero issue

overpriced tool, and extremely unbalanced feel. got it for convenience on small things. obvious it's expensive for what it is, but not much out there otherwise.
