Best compressor you could buy! I have been using it for over six months now and it has been a great experience. It is light, portable, versatile, cordless and very well built. There are some minor cons but its versatility allowed me to come up with some very easy solutions. For example, it takes some time to fill up the small tank, but all you have to do is turn it on as soon as you grab it from your truck and by the time you are in the job site, it is ready to go. For me this equals efficiency in time and is faster than any corded compressor. The other minor complaint is that this compressor is louder than other small quiet compressors. If you are used to working with big compressors this might not sound loud at all, but if you are used to working with quiet compressors like me this might be a little loud. Again, there is an easy solution. It's a cordless compressor so you can hide it anywhere or just leave it outside. I usually don't do this. I only had to do it once when I didn't want to disturb a customer.

So, these are amazing batteries on an amazing line. In the poor reviews on here, a bunch of haters will say, they are heavy and bulky. They are heavy because they pack a punch. Would I recommend climbing a 30' ladder and using this on an impact driver, no, you'll fall. If you want power in your tools, the FlexVolt line, and the DCD996. Of course there is the inverter to think about also. As with the color wars (your battery platform) DeWalt has run away from the competition. This is the next level. I have bought these batteries for my neighbors and friends, because they are the 9th wonder of the tool world. I have the Reciprocating saw, circular saw, and the Hammer drill and am drooling over my next purchases. If you buy you will be happy. Ive never had to charge them during a days worth of work, but no one really uses their tools for 6 hours straight. I recommend these for your 20v and 60v line.

These batteries work great on both 20v and 60v Dewalt tools. I actually purchased these before I owned any FLEXVOLT tools, but knew that I would want some in the future. I needed new batteries, and by purchasing these and using the chargers I already have, I am able to buy just the bare tool instead of a kit when shopping around for the FLEXVOLT tools which should save me some money in the long run. The batteries provide a huge amount of runtime, even on an angle grinder, which is known to drain batteries quickly. I like the little protective cover that comes with as well. It slides over the top of the battery, covering the terminals and protecting those connectors during transport. It seems like a silly little feature, but it is just another way Dewalt goes above and beyond on their tools. The battery gauge is great, and I find that it is fairly accurate. It gives me a chance to grab another battery and have it ready or swap it out before I run out and am forced to stop in the middle of a task like cutting the ends off of a deck. I think once the FLEXVOLT line picks up a little more, we should see these drop in price enough to not even see a difference between these and the regular 20v batteries. The price has already come down a good amount, and the cost difference is so small that it makes sense to just go with the FLEXVOLT batteries. Very happy with these, and I will buy more as my regular 20v batteries start to lose their charge.

Great for trim work and light framing projects. I was able to drive 9 3 1/2 inch nails in the old 4x6 joist before it had to refill air. I love how small ant portable this thing is.

This works so well for me as I have all the air finish guns and they are smaller the cordless ones. Now i use a 12' hose and having the air when ever you need to blow out a hole or area is wonderful.

Overall, this will liberate an entire catalogue of tools to become less fatiguing and more portable. For the reason I give this 5/5 stars. For most, their portable compressor is 50 pounds or so, and that can be exhausting to move after a long day. Also, to reduce the number of times you have to move your typical portable compressor, you need a 50' hose, which brings with it additional weight and complications of its own. This is so much smaller than my previous compressor that I had trouble believing it would work well for me. I don't do any HVLP painting, but I shoot a lot of staples and 18g nails. Once this compressor is up to pressure it is able to keep up with your trigger finger! I feel for most people that are already invested in DeWalt batteries that this will be their next compressor, especially if they plan on only using one tool at a time. At 24 pounds (with battery) it is very easy to move this compressor around. For me I now just use it with a 25' hose to simplify life even further. I fitted the compressor, both ends of my hose, and my inflator with hi-flo 1/4 fittings (rated for 73 cubic foot per minute (cfm) instead of the normal 25 cfm so that when I need to seat the tire on a tubeless bike rim I will be ready. Hey, since it's cordless and so light I plan on taking this to the trails when I do multi-day rides.

This cordless compressor is amazing versatile. It's the perfect solution for running a trim nailer, or even a framing nailer for short punch lists. The run time for brad nails is just about on par with that of many cordless nail guns. If you've got a full set of pneumatic nailers and can't justify the cost of buying all cordless, this compressor is a great way to get air power to locations that don't have power. Plus, it can be run indoors, unlike a gas compressor. I used mine for fixing my wooden privacy fence a few weekends ago, which I thought would really push the limits of this little compressor. I put up three whole 8' panels, running about 40 3" framing nails at 115 PSI for the rails, and 300 2" framing nails for the slats. The compressor was running almost constantly to keep up, but I never outran it, and I was going at a decent clip. The battery lasted the whole time as well, getting everything done on one charge. The pressure tank takes about 2 minutes 15 seconds to fill, and when it cycles on after 40 brad nails at 70 PSI, it takes about 30 seconds to recover. The 79 dB noise rating isn't an issue at all when working outside, and it's a little noisy but bearable when working in an enclosed room. Overall, I think this is an awesome little compressor. It's at a great price too, and hopefully we'll see a bare tool version soon.

Portable no-cord air power is liberating.! I have several air tools that get the job done, from driving nails, to removing lug nuts, to inflating tires. The problem is to use them you must lug the compressor out. Even a smaller pancake unit has weight and bulk and requires an A/C outlet. This battery-operated compressor make using air tools so much easier. Its compact, standing 15 inches tall, relatively light weight at about twenty pounds, and with a battery goes anywhere. This unit comes with a 60-volt battery and fast charger, but it is also designed to operate on flexible battery voltage including 20 and 120 volt units. I use a Dewalt 20-volt battery when charging the 60 volt battery to provide near continuous operation. Charging the battery took about 40 minutes. The unit builds up air to 135 lbs., cycles on at 105 psi, and generates 1.2 Scfm @ 90 psi a minute. It has a built in easy to adjust regulator and up front on/off switch. Tank capacity at 2.5 gallons is limited so if using an air gun it does cycle allot – but the battery should be good for many cycles before needing a recharge. Using a brad nailer, you can run for hours between charges. The unit comes with a quarter inch quick connect adaptor, but you need to supply a hose. Tank has a convenient drain plug so you can get rid of any moisture quickly. Unit is oil-less so no mess. While this won’t replace a big compressor for any high-volume air needs, it will serve the average person well. I love not having to find a plug or dragging around a long hose. It’s so portable you can just move the unit and use a modest length hose. Runs fairly quiet too! DeWalt offers a three-year limited warranty on the compressor. Overall, a great add to your tool kit. I was a bit skeptical at first, wondering if a battery operate compressor would cut it, but after having put it through its paces, I love this thing!

This DeWALT FLEXVOLT 2.5 Gallon 60-Volt Bruskless Compressor is Amazing. A Battery Pack Cordless is a great addition to my Air Tools. Only weighing 21.50 lbs. you can carry easily with one hand. I tried all of my Air Nailers from I/2 inch Brads to 3 1/4 Framing nails and the compressor had enough air to drive them with ease. The only difference was it didn't kick on as often with smaller nails. Fast Charger and the Battery has LED lights to tell you where your charge is at. Great Job Site Tool with a Roll Gage. Great thought out design. Best of all Cordless.

It is well balanced and easy to handle. Accurate cuts are easily accomplished and a single battery can make numerous cuts. The initial project with the saw was to put a roof over a 12 ft X 25 ft deck.

      WHAT A GREAT FLEXIBLE IDEA
This large, heavy battery fits a variety of Dewalt tools from 20-60 volts. Have tried it on my 20 volt drills as well as on my 60 volt saw and it works perfectly on all. Fast charge in about an hour. Keeps going a long time, exceeding the 20 volt batteries that came with the drills. Take one type of battery to the job site for use in all your Dewalt Flex tools. No more keeping up with extra batteries for each and every tool. This is a one size fits all that actually works as intended. Charger cooling fan is rather noisy.

      Dewalt Flexvolt 60V Lithium-Ion Battery
I need an extra battery for my Dewalt 60V Cordless Circular Saw to have a backup when the original battery that came with the saw. One great feature is that being FLEXVOLT Battery pack it changes voltage when you change tools. To a 20 Volt Max tools. This FLEXVOLT battery powers the new line of 60-Volt Max Brushless tools and 120-Volt Max Brushless tools. This pack is also backwards compatible with 20-Volt Max tools and chargers. PLEASE NOTE that this requires a charger that can handle the 60V batteries. The 20V battery cannot handle the charging. Great battery.

Great Battery! Watch for the different versions out there though (this is NOT bluetooth enabled).
At first I expected these new lithium-ion battery packs to be much more lightweight compared to the older 18V battery packs. These new packs are just as heavy, but they are more powerful and longer lasting, so that's the tradeoff. It's nice not having to worry about creating unwanted memory though, so charge away, preferably when the battery is depleted though, since there are a limited number of charges for each battery (the number of times you can charge should easily last for the life of the battery though, so don't worry if the battery isn't completely dead if that doesn't work best for you). The batteries have a push button that turns on LEDs (total of three) which indicate the power level left in each battery. A lot of the tools will now warn you when the battery level is getting too low, which is a nice improvement from the batteries/systems that we had to use before. Before, you had to wait for the tool to stop working. This battery is NOT bluetooth enabled, and I probably wouldn't consider it since using bluetooth will just kill the battery while you're trying to impress your co-workers. I really like the red protective shipping cap. It locks in place, which is perfect for when the batteries are not in use. The older 18V batteries had tiny red plastic caps that would easily be lost if used in any work environment. These new packs will hold up and appear to be very rugged. It's a good idea to have at least one spare battery so you can always keep one charging while you are using the other. If any tools require two batteries, then have two spares available with a dual charger to keep you going.

Not Vital, but Really Nice to Have
This 60 volt battery has me very excited to expand my cordless tool collection and will finally let cordless tools, especially saws, keep up with their corded counterparts. Anyone who has used DeWalt's cordless circular or reciprocating saws knows they pack a decent punch but they don't have much of a runtime. This battery tackles that in two different ways. There are extremely powerful 60 volt versions of these tools available but unfortunately I haven't had the funds to add any of those to my collection yet. However, this battery also works with newer 20 volt tools as well, and so far I've seen runtimes of 3-4 times as long from my circular and reciprocating saws compared to the 20v battery. These new batteries are bigger and heavier than the 20v battery but they're really similar in size to the older 18v batteries. For the additional runtime it's well worth the added bulk. They also charge from the standard 20v charger, so you don't need to spend extra money upgrading to a new one. I'd highly recommend picking up this battery whether you're looking to add more powerful tools or just make your 20v saws last long enough on a charge to be useful in larger projects.

      Great battery system.
This is a great battery sytem. It's powerful and lasts a long time before having to be re-charged. I love not having to drag a cord around with my battery operated circular saw. The downside is that the battery+charger is expensive. The good news is that once you buy the battery and charger the other Dewalt Flex volt tools are compatible and are value priced. If you use or need a circular saw, reciprocating saw or table saw, etc. this is a great system to go with because of the powerful battery system. I hope you find this helpful.

      Dewalt won’t warranty this battery
I bought this battery about 4 or 5 months ago. It will no longer charge. I called Dewalt, they said they won’t replace the battery but gave me a number to call, it was disconnected. I called Dewalt back, they gave me another number to a repair center. Called repair center, they said they don’t repair or replace batteries. I called dewalt a third time, they said that’s all they can do. Now I’m out the nearly 200 dollars I spent less than 6 months ago on the battery with no warranty from Dewalt.

Dewalt won’t warranty this battery if defective.
I’ve had this battery a few months. Recently stopped charging, stuck at 2 bars. Contacted support, they gave me two numbers to call. One was disconnected and the other the man that answered said they do not repair or replace batteries. Called support back, they said that’s all they can do. They will not warranty this defective battery. It’s a lot of money to spend on a throwaway battery.
