Customer Reviews for DEWALT TOUGHSYSTEM 25-1/2 in. Workshop Racking Storage System

Moving to an HCOL city soon and downsizing. So my setup needed to be portable but efficient. The unit comes in a surprisingly small box and in quite a few pieces. They click together and gravity holds the system together until you bolt it to a wall. The slots make it easy mount even if your studs are... odd. I actually raised my system off of the ground using 2 each of planks of 2x4's (horizontal) and 2x6's (vertical). That way the rolling cart can slide right underneath like you see in the picture. And if you align your boxes tightly, you can fit a ton on this rack. I ordered one more tough box for a heavy tool that will be all by itself. And then I'm going to wait for the large small parts box that's coming out soon. (so i'll need another bracket set but totally worth it). If you go into it knowing this thing is flimsy until it's bolted to the wall, I think you'll be satisfied. Also... make sure you hit studs. Cause I'm sure it could hold me on the wall... as long as you hit studs. I really wanted the cart. But it didn't make as much sense for me if I'm moving to a small place.

Great concept! Good execution. Two issues but you can't do it all. Easy to mount. Very sturdy. The hinge on the box if mounted two close to one of the two cross bar support members will not allow the box to engage. Simple solution, just move it down an inch or so. If you purchased the three box special which included the rolling box, that box does not have the ability to mount on the arm of the unit. I just flipped the two switches on the base and removed the handle and placed it at the bottom of the unit. The included organizer works great for holding my 4, 6AH Flexvolt batteries. By the way. If you like the stripe job, Home Depot has Dewalt yellow paint in their system.

Easy to install. Easy to organize your tools . Very quick access . Liked so much i bought a second unit.

Straightforward assembly. I only used the 6 wall-mount connection points and not the floor mounts to see if it was sturdy enough without drilling into concrete floor. Seems more than solid since 6 wall mounts are into studs. Was able to store 5 boxes of various sizes with the supplied arms and leave enough space in between to open lids enough to access tools within boxes. Works out really nice and cleared up a lot of space. Only downside I see is the arms do not fold in like they do on the mobile cart.

It arrived on time and comes in a compact box. The directions are clear and make It extremely easy to assemble, install and use. I purchased additional arms to hold more tool boxes. There is plenty of room for a few more thin boxes, as long as I don’t exceed its weight limit.

Latches are sturdy. Has a variety of sizes that you can swap layout. It works great with the tough system storage.

Fits so much more then my old Stanley boxes! I put all my pex fitting 1/2 and 3/4 in one box!. Tough love that I can look right in and know what I have. Only problem is the gasket is so stiff i cant get two boxes to stack. The will stack on top of my other tough system boxes but i cant get one clear lid organizer to stack on another or any box to stack on top. And the latches that are for stacking get in the way of closing the lid. If I cant stack then that makes the latches totally useless and a pain! Other then these minor complaints I really like the tough system. 4/5 stars

Very well made. attaches to the system . Wondering if they could make some of those compartments elongated for a longer drivers trivers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When it came time to renovate my basement, I knew I would need to update my old DeWalt 18v tools. My wife gave me clearance to buy every tool I would need. I’ve always been a fan of DeWalt, so it was an easy choice. I loaded up on DeWalt 20v tools. Now I needed a way to store, transport and protect my investment. I bought quite a few ToughSystem boxes and a couple of the storage racks. Very well made and sturdy. I’m a big boy and I’ve used them as a stool or chair on more than one occasion. They hold up well. If you are reading this, just buy it. You will not regret it.

I have quite a few DeWalt storage cases of several different styles and sizes, but had not owned anything in their Tough storage box line. Was looking for something a little more stout to hold the items I use the most, and this case, with its ample compartments, fit the bill perfectly. This case is extremely well-built, as are all the models in the ToughSystem. The plastic that the body is made out of is very rugged, and the latches and all are much more durable than your standard parts case. The case itself measures 21" x 13-1/2" x 4-1/2" deep. The larger of the bins measures 5" x 4-1/4" x 3-1/2" deep, on the interior, and the smaller ones measure 4-1/4" x 2-3/8" x 3-1/2" deep. They offer plenty of room for the larger of my small items - romex connectors, wire nuts, staples and such. The lid is partitioned so as to keep items from crossing over into other bins while the case is carried or stored upright, and it is also features a seal to prevent water intrusion. One thing that I really like is that DeWalt didn't find it necessary to stick decals on the lid - other than the logo one in the center - which the removal of always tends to leave a horrible sticky residue that's near impossible to get off fully. Very happy with this case, and plan on looking into other items from this system.

Love this product line. From the smaller to the medium and now the large they have helped me get organized , save time finding things for projects to jobs. I have used this to organize specific trade rotatables and speciality tools. Separating them into containers have them ready to go to a job or sorted parts and tools for a project. I have made boxes for plumbing , electrical , phone and Ethernet , nuts and bolts plus many other trades I perform. No more looking around the bottem of a tool bag or box for parts tools etc. This product is the largest of the line of three sizes. The largest also works with a wheeled rack system so you can have several at the ready. They also can stack and clip together with out a rack perfect if you want to carry them in your vehicle without them moving around , or if you want to bring several boxs at once to a job site. The lid is clear so you can see what's inside along with being water proof to protect what inside. Inside there are several removable boxes for your parts . The lid has robust latches that will keep,the lid secure . Made of durable plastic it should hold up to most abuse. The sides also have a system to either stack them or secure into the optional rack. I highly recommend this product for your garage or job.

They don't fold and the arms are expensive. These won't work for the vehicle they we going to be mounted in. We've ordered 4 and a 8 boxes and they won't work.

Great storage solution for tough system products. Easy to assemble and many adjustable options

This system is awesome for organizing tools that I could find no place for in my work area. And the ability to remove and take them with me so easily is awesome.

I love my toughsystem cases, and bought several of these to organize. They are a great way to have the cases and their contents readily accessible.

Received the Dewalt storage system and install in a Sprinter van and it’s holding up very well.

I wish that the arms would swivel like my ds cart. They are fixed straight out and vulnerable to break.

Installed 2 of them in an enclosed cargo trailer. Work great. Great product for organizing and storing tools while still being easily accessible.

Great water tight and takes a beating nice sized compartments recommend for sure
