Absolutely amazing
Recently had to cut 4” cast iron two times to cut a pvc tee in. The blade absolutes had no trouble making both of the cuts and still is not dull in any way. Highly recommend these blades.

Nice blades, but error in packaged contents
Loved both the Pruning, and General Purpose blades. There was, however, an error in contents. I did not receive a Thick Metal blade. Instead received two General Purpose blades. Otherwise would be 5-star.

Great blade for pruning trees. This is at least the third one I've purchased because they do break at the base where they insert into the saw because that is the weakest point but I still get a lot of use from them. I attach the saw to my pruning pole with large hose clamps to reach high branches.

Expectations exceeded! Awesome blade and works as advertised (better, technically). I used these blades to cut off a cast iron pipe sticking out of the concrete floor in my basement. The knuckle joining a fitting to the pipe was right at the floor level, so I was basically cutting through double the thickness; over an inch of cast iron. I was a little worried these blades would do the job, and thought I might have to rent a band type pipe cutter. But the Steel Demon got the job done! It was a burly 20-30 minutes of cutting. As you can imagine, the toughest part was getting the cut started (sawing at a tangent to the pipe surface). I bought the 3 pack, and switched blades periodically to keep the heat down. Not sure I had to do that. But figured it was a good precaution against burning through the blades. By the end of the task, the blades don't show much wear, so can do plenty more. This was above and beyond the metal thickness specified by Diablo (up to 9/16") but the blades handled it with no problems. I also used this blade to cut a small corner (about 1/4-inch) of a steel beam that was sticking past the concrete (not supporting any load at that point) and out of the drywall (don't ask - past owner/builder of my home made some really questionable choices). The Steel Demon cut through it like a regular Sawzall blade through a piece of wood! The manufacturer video included in the product photos look pretty unreal, cutting through thick steel like it was butter (that cliché may be overused - but it applies here!). There is no tricks here. The Steel Demon really does cut through metal that fast, no joke! I would highly recommend this blade for your heavy duty steel cutting needs.

Far exceeded my expectations! I had 28 concrete nails to cut from a sill plate. I tried the Milwaukee torch brand 1st as it was cheaper, but that blade crapped out after 1 nail. The Diablo cut the nails like a hot knife thru butter! 1 blade made it thru 20 nails and would have made it thru the rest had it not broke at the base the teeth still looked good.

3 stars because I bought it as a bonus pack, two blades for the price of one ($11.97). If it were just one blade for that price, it might be a 1 star review. But anyways.... I cut up pallets by the truckload for various furniture and décor that I sell. Always used bi-metal blades, but they burn up after a half dozen pallets or so. Finally I decided to try a $15 Morse carbide tooth blade, and it was a game changer. I can cut dozens of pallets and the blade still cuts through nails like its new. That leads me to this review. I saw a bonus 2-for-1 pack of these diablo blades and figured I would try them. Everyone loves Freud/Diablo, I've always thought they were OK to decent myself. I cut exactly one pallet and completely broke off not one, but five teeth. Maybe it was bad luck, maybe a flawed blade, but I was pretty disappointed. And I know carbide is very hard, thus brittle, but I've had my Morse blades for months with zero broken teeth.

Very satisfied with this blade, was a little concerned about the cost but after using it I can tell you it's well worth the price. Made pruning back some over growth a lot easier.

          Better than the average blade
i have some 5/8 rebar that I was cutting for a project. tried several other blades because they were cheaper and were supposed to be for cutting heavy/thick metal. i made 3 cuts with 2 of the other blades and the teeth were completely gone. i made 6 cuts with the 6" diablo ( did not need the 9") and there is still teeth left. but, it was starting to dull a bit. 6 CUTS WITH 1 BLADE THOUGH vs 3 CUTS WITH THE OTHER 2. worth the money....get it, trust me. if you have a project that requires cutting hard stuff. get the diablo blades, you wont be disappointed.

            Best pruning blade for Hackzall!
Best pruning blade for Hackzall! Cuts smoother and faster. Cuts 2x4s too. This pruning blade cuts smoother and faster with less jumping than the fleam style pruning blades on the Milwaukee M18 Hackzall. I was able to cut down an oversized 10 foot high privet hedge down to the stumps with one blade. I even cut some roots too. This 9” long, 3 teeth per inch carbide blade easily cut through 4” thick trunks. It helped to move saw back and forth to help clear the chips from the blade. I was even able to cut through a cluster of trunks (see picture). When the blade seemed dull I cleaned it with Palmolive dish soap (I ran out if Simple Green) using paper towel and ear swab and now it cuts like new. It worked so well I bought a second blade as a spare.

              Cut cast iron like butter!
I needed to cut a 2in cast iron drain pipe. After attempting to use the Milwaukee Torch double duty blades with no luck. I tried to use my Makita angle grinder with metal cut off disc, which could have worked but was a little uneven and messy. Did some research and decided to purchase this blade. One is the best buys I ever made! This thing works fast. pipe was cut in less than a minute. Nice, even, and clean!

                One tough blade
The Diablo 9 in. x 8 Teeth per in. Steel Demon Carbide Tipped Metal Cutting Reciprocating Blade is one tough blade. I've been using Diablo reciprocating saw blades now for over a year. This is a longer blade as compared to the 4in. one by Diablo I had been using. It cuts cleanly, fast and shows little wear. The advantage of this blade is it allows you to reach farther when needed to get at rusted bolts in the undercarriage of vehicles which smaller blades won't reach. It gets high marks from me.

Almost as good as a cutting torch!
I had to cut away an old trailer receiver that had gotten bent, but I did not have a torch. Even using a battery-operated reciprocating saw, it only took about 10 minutes to cut through. I only had to stop when the battery died and had to be recharged. Even though I miscalculated in my cut line and cut through a 3/8" bolt along the long axis, it cut quickly. If I would have used a corded reciprocating saw, I would have had it done within 10 minutes! Not as quick as a torch, but real quick for a reciprocating saw!

                Makes short work on bolts
Tested this blade on a few concrete anchor bolts that had to be removed. Removed the head and metal sleeve easily and not much wear on the teeth. Quick and easy to cut metal when you have the right blade. Keep a 1 or two in you reciprocating tool bag and you will be set for cutting metal.

I decided to give a carbide tipped blade a try for cutting tree roots and what a difference over high speed steel. I had 3 HSS blades dull out on me but switching to this I did roughly 3 times the work and it's still going strong. Hitting dirt with HSS usually shortens their useful life by quite a bit but so far I'm still on my first carbide tipped one and it's much better than the HSS ones I used to use. Highly recommended!

It's a great blade. Cuts like a chainsaw, but can be used in tight area's with limited concern of damage. Great if stretching to reach branch that should be cut from a lift.
