Hello Susan, this is Kelly with Dyson. I am sorry to read your review and learn how disappointed you are in your Dyson Pure Hot + Cool air purifier,heater and fan. Dyson Pure Hot + Cool features a HEPA filter to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust, mold spores, bacteria and pet dander. The second layer in the filter contains activated carbon to capture household odors and volatile organic compounds like paint fumes. The machine also features a sleep timer, oscillation and 10 air speed settings.

Our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air.

Hello Ellen, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience with your Dyson HP01 Pure Hot + Cool. In order for your machine to purify the air, you do need to have the unit turned on; either in cool or hot mode. Air gets drawn in through the bottom of the machine, where it passes through the internal filtration system, and this purified air is expelled through the aperture at the top of the machine. While I understand you've since returned your purchase, we'd value the opportunity to learn more regarding your experience, as we're dedicated to customer satisfaction. I can confirm that the HP01 Pure Hot + Cool is not one of our linked models, do it does not have the capability to connect to WiFi and the Dyson link app. You are still able to control your machine with the included magnetic remote control, which stores on top of the loop. We can confirm that when using this unit in heat mode, it will use 1500 watts. We do recommend plugging the machine in to its own outlet, where you don't have any other high powered appliances plugged in.
