We bought new refrigerator and this new supply line. The filtered water tasted very chemically. We changed brands of filters a few times and nothing helped. We finally unhooked the hose from the fridge and poured directly from hose to cup. It was still gross. We replaced the hose with another (from different store) and all is well!

The Everbilt ice maker connector provided a good connection from the water line to the inline water filter for me. I also used a five foot braided line from the inline filter to the refrigerator.

The braided flex hose is the only type I use when I am connecting an ice maker. The cheap plastic tubing supplied usually starts leaking in time causing costly damage.
