Customer Reviews for Fahrenheat 3,000-Watt Large Room Wall Heater

I installed this in my 10' x 15' workshop/shed. The shed is not insulated, but before I installed the siding, I wrapped the sheathing in overlapping layers of #30 roofing felt paper. This replaced an 8-ft, 2,000 watt 240 V baseboard unit that worked, but it took too long to warm the shed. This unit is designed for 16-inch C-C studs, so mounting was a breeze, as was the hookup. At 12.5 amps, #12 AWG, with a DP 20-amp breaker will work. The pictures tell the story. About 15-20 seconds after turn on, the fan kicks in, blowing a stream of nice warm air across the area where I typically stand at my workbench. It's MUCH more effective than a radiant or other heater without a fan. And the element is contained like the baseboard (rather than an open Nichrome wire strip) so if I'm using mild solvents on something, I don't have to worry about fumes, unless they are really strong. I never had an issue with the baseboard unit in 15 years, and the element in this heater is the same type. After turn off, this heater remains on for 30 seconds or so until the element is cool, unless the user turns it all the way counter-clockwise. Then it shuts off immediately. The fan emits an mild hum, but it's not obtrusive. It's just loud enough that I won't accidentally leave my shop for the evening and leave the heater on, therefore inflating my heat bill. That used to happen with the baseboard. Since this isn't in a sheet rock wall, I had to use 3/8" trim strips so that the cover wouldn't hit the fan. As for longevity, it seems to be well made, and other Fahrenheit products that I've installed have lasted a long time. So, I'm happy.

This wall heater does just what I expected. My home is now cozy and warm. It replaced a smaller heater and was easy to install. Just a small hint though, to test after installing you will need to wait about 45 seconds or so for the heater to kick on.

This will not heat a large room, the fan barely blows any air at all.

Front cover hit the fan when I installed it. Had to shim it out to make it work/ otherwise it works fine

The fan blows heat out the bottom of the unit. But heat rises, so while the coils might be getting hot, the air it blows is luke warm at best. It is ridiculously loud and distracting at such high volume. This is the second model from Farenheat I have tried and both were absolutely horrible so I will try another brand. The design of this product is terrible so do not buy it.

Did the job that it was needed for..replaced some radiant ceiling heating that could not be repaired.

It is extremely loud

It's a good quality product but for some reason its not heating up my garage as I expected and according to the square footage it suppose to heat more square footage than my garage.

This will blow hot air immediately. Downside it's loud. Perhaps if the fan speed was adjustable it would be quieter. I wouldn't install this anywhere where a loud blowing fan would bother you.

Motor was bad and had slight bent on cover.

I ordered this unit because its overall size just about matched the wall opening I had from an old heater made by the defunct Federal Pacific. I had to return the first one I ordered because the fan vibrated noisily at startup! Of course, I discovered the defect after the unit had been completely installed. The second one seems to be just fine, except that installation was not so easy by reason of the small holes available on both sides for mounting screws (not supplied).

Heater is small.. looks nice .. heats the room well

Great heater

Easy to install. Do not tighten the cover too tight though because it will flex the cover and the fan blades will hit the cover

After installing the heater. I went to turn it on and the switch broke. How can I get a replacement part for this heater.

The unit was easy to install and the heat output is amazing. Good for chilly basement rec rooms!

This is a nice heater. Easy installation. Received when promised, in good shape. The only thing missing for me is the dial is not marked with any type of temperature settings.

Replaced two existing same exact models of these wall heaters in an old (1950s) apartment and they matched up great. Only one issue was the electrical connection point on the new heater is on top vs bottom on the old. Luckily there was enough existing wire to reach. Look and work perfect!
