I loved how easy they are to drive. They never split any wood and they did not need pre-drilling. 100 screws later I saw that they started rusting. Really bad outcome for an otherwise good deck. No where on the box did they mention rusting being a possibility.

Rust, especially in such a short timeframe, is very unusual and unexpected. If the application is close to salt water (coastal community, saltwater pool, etc.) and some of the coating rubbed off the hex driver (bit slippage) this might explain some cosmetic surface rust. Other than this type of scenario we really haven't heard this type of complaint. Please contact our Technical Department at 800-518-3569.

Pricey but tough screws that are great for wooden retaining walls or decking. They have not corroded over the years although I do not know what they are coated with. Pre-drilling is not required in fresh wood. I use an impact driver with great success, you will struggle to drive them (with no pre-drilling) with any other tool. Drive them with a 5/16" or 8mm nut, preferably the former.
I have extra of these and I find I can use them for long hooks in the shed, for hanging extension cords and things of the sort. After driving one, I just bend the end with pliers.

timber lock lags
used these on 4x4 posts to attach to some rail road ties to make a railing on a patio deck and they worked beautifly . Used a 1/4" impact with a socket and went right through and held super tight . Would use these again in a Heart Beat.

Great stuff! Fast & Easy Timesaver!
I bought a box of 6-inch and a box of 8-inch screws to build some heavy-duty benches for the fire pit area I'm constructing--using 6" x 6" and 4" x 6" pressure-treated lumber. Using the Timberlok screws saved me A LOT of time and energy over my initial plan to use lag screws to attach the pieces together. Using lag screws, I'd have to pre-drill all the holes to depth and then ratchet them in. With the Timberlok screws, I just had to use the bit included with each box to screw them in (after countersinking for the screw heads). Despite the thickness and density of the pressure-treated wood, the Timberlok screws went in pretty easily. I used the 8-inch screws to attach the 4" x 6"s to the 6" x 6"s (a triangle of three at each end) and the 6-inch screws to attach the 4" x 6"s to each other (two at each end and two in the middle). Then I capped the tops of the benches with deck boards. I attached each of the 6" x 6" bases together with Heavy Duty Liquid Nail and two 10" galvanized spikes--although I could've easily used 8-inch Timberlok screws to make the connections. (I didn't happen on the Timberlok screws until the bases were already done.) I was able to assemble all four benches on a Sunday afternoon--and they are very solid and sturdy--and seriously heavy. Bench is four-feet wide; seat is one-foot deep and 20-inches high; base is two-feet deep.

Excellent Wood Screws & Zip Right In!
I bought these to make a 14 Foot 4x4 Pole for a Security Light & an Antenna. I didn't have any 4x4 14 foot options at my Store so I purchased 2 2x4s at 14 foot lengths & screwed them together with these. They hold Tight & made a very sturdy Pole. They zipped right in & did not come through to the other side of board either, All in all both TimberLok & HeadLok screws are OUTSTANDING! Buy without hesitation!
BTW: Thompson's Water Seal & Stain In Acorn is Awesome! (To Protect Post)

Works Great!!!
I built an 80' 6"x6" timber wall that is 5' high at its peak. 6x6 posts were placed 5' apart with the horizontal timber placed behind it. The Timberlok 10" screws were used to hold everything in place. Worked great with the screws going in with a heavy duty 18volt battery operated drill. I have already recommended Timberlok to a fri HD who is building a similar wall

The box of fastners had apparently been opened
There were a mixture of ledger loks and head locks in the box. There were also various size screws ranging from 8 tob10 inches. Additionally, there were less than 50 screws in the box. The item was return and my money refunded.

We are glad to hear that you were able to get a refund. This certainly sounds like an issue with the product being tampered with after being packaged and shipped.
