The third rack is mainly designed to wash uniquely shaped items like spatulas, lids, and silverware. So, you are definitely choosing the right spot for your items. The white film/residue can be from detergent not dissolving properly or the detergent not rinsing well. We recommend making sure that your inlet water temperature is able to reach 120 degrees F minimum. Additionally, using a rinse agent can also help with this. Cascade® Platinum™ Power Dry™ Rinse Aid or Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid may help minimize a repeat build up of film. A dishwasher will not normally retain odors, so odors present for extended periods of time should be considered abnormal. Hi there, thanks for taking the time to write about your dishwasher. So sorry to hear about the issues you've had with draining and the rollers coming off of the lower rack, we're sure this would be frustrating. For the draining issues, take a look at an article on our website titled DISHWASHER - NOT DRAINING. We also wanted to say that some water (standing water), usually one to two cups, remaining in the bottom of the dishwasher tub is normal. If dirty water is building up over time in the bottom of the dishwasher and your installation does not have an air gap, make sure you have a high drain loop. We do hope this helps.
