Batteries are included so you do not have to spend $$$$ for the cell type batteries for initial use.
For about $5 it is sufficient loud and easy to position.
Tip: Use temporary painters tape to determine the best position for the components before you commit to permanent placement.

Effortless to install and attractive for an alarm. Would have given 5 stars if emergency alarm was louder so it could be heard off my property or more likely to scare intruder.
