We can confirm that the vanity top material is best compared to cultured marble; a man-made material made of polyester resin and marble dust. Our Solid Surface Technology offers a variety of styles for all looks and finishes and also has an additional 1/8 in. dry solid surface veneer that makes the product mostly scratch resistant. Please note that since these vanity tops are man-made, a variation in color, hue, pattern, and 1/4 in. ( + / - ) in size is normal with all products. Please rest assured that we stand behind our products and our warranty for manufacturer defects. Hello SADIE, Thank you for your review. We can confirm that the vanity top is not factory attached to the vanity cabinet. You may attach the vanity top with silicone adhesive of your own choosing. Best Regards

Please note that the vanity top does not contain an overflow hole, so it will drain slightly slower than a vanity top that has an overflow hole.
