As a safety feature, these units will not shut completely off so that the pressure balancing valve safety feature that is currently code in all tub/shower units can still function properly. Pressure Balancing valves ensure that the water stays at a consist temperature when the water pressure fluctuates in the water lines thus preventing a burst of scalding hot water or cold water when the pause feature was turned back on. There will always be a small stream of water when it is turned to the pause setting.
