Not purchased for furnace - used to make temporary Covid filtration unit
Four filters (buy 2, pay for 1) taped together to make a box. 20" fan placed on top of box to draw filtered air out of the box. Filtration unit worked perfectly with other measures taken to help pervent spread of Covid to other residents of the household.

While HVAC filters that have a higher FPR rating are more expensive, the return on value has definitely been realized in the reduction of dust, pet dander and other pollutants in my home. I wasted many years using the cheap green fiberglass furnace filters trying to save money. I continued to have allergy issues and had to dust a couple of times per week even though I vacuumed and kept everything clean. Since I've started using these HDX filters, the dust and pet dander have greatly reduced. I also use an air purifier and have gotten used to using HEPA filters. The use of these HVAC filters has definitely made a difference in my health and I recommend them!

Filter works GREAT
I am using this air filter in our bedroom closet. I have attached it to a box fan, set on low speed, to help minimize the dust in the bedroom. Its working great. I have used before and it lasts about 9 months to a year after monitoring by visual inspection.

Fur!!
They're furnace filters. We need a lot of them: 3 cats, all furry, all black. One is an automated fur factory - and - he's big. These work fine for changing almost weekly.

It was the only filter you had to fit my A/C unit. I would love to have had choices and a higher quality to choose from since I have allergies and need a filter that traps for longer periods of time and is sturdier

HDX are thinner than equivelent 3M Filtrete
In my furnace, the filter slides in through the side. This is how I noticed that the HDX filter is thinner (3/4") than the 3M filters (7/8") I normally purchase. There is a visible 1/8th inch gap between the filter and the frame of the cut-out.

These filters are pretty good, have used them for the last few years and can say they pick up alot of the small particles. They do not get clogged much, we have it set to change out every few months and they hold up fairly well. Will continue to use them since they continue to work well.

    Quality Inexpensive Filter
For the past 2 years, I happily purchased a 12 pack of Rheem FPR 4 filters that I change monthly. Last month, when I realized I was on my last couple of filters and saw that the Rheem filters were no longer available, I hoped to find something comparable. The HDX FPR 5 filters had a lot of positive reviews, so I purchased them today at Home Depot. While I haven’t used them yet, the quality appears even better than the Rheem filters. The frame and wires are thicker and sturdier. Hooray for HDX!

      Need additional support
Good basic filter. Flimsy cardboard frame which can be overcome by installing vertical brackets to help support filter. Two vertical brackets that I installed myself are pictured below.

        Just Look
The build quality of the Home Depot HDX pleated filters I bought are FAR SUPERIOR to the 3M Filtrete filters I had. Just have a look at the pics and you decide. BOTH filters are the SAME PRICE! Even the $1 Pamlico feels more solid then Filtrete...ow!

Works Well, Fits True to Size
This is a nice furnace filter, easy to install. It has a level 10 filtration so it will block a lot of household dust and some pollens, etc. The size listed 16x20 fit my furnace just fine, the specs were spot on. I change out my filter every 30 days regardless of what the labels say so I can't say if this will last 90 days but after 30 it came out nice and dirty so it's doing it's job well. The frame can be a bit flimsy, so I'd check on it every 30 days if you leave filters in longer than a month. I'd recommend it

          Ultimate filter for your home
This 12" x 12" x 1" furnace filter by Home Depot uses the FPR, or Filter Performance Rating. The FPR system was created by Home Depot and is similar to the MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) system. MERV was created by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning. A third system, the MPR system, was created by 3M to differentiate its products from both MERV and FPR. This filter is rated FPR 10 which essentially equivalent to a MERV 13. MERV 13 provides very high filtering for your home furnace system. The higher the number, the finer the particles (the smaller the particles) that are trapped by the filter. MERV 8 (around a FPR 5) will capture pollen and dust and mites and mold spores. MERV 11 (around a FPR 7) will also capture pet dander, smoke, smog, lint, and airborne particles from coughs and sneezes. This rating is recommended for people who have pets or children (especially both). MERV 13 (around a FPR 10) will also trap odors, viruses, and bacteria and is highly recommended for people who have asthma. However, be aware that the "heavier" the filter, the harder your furnace has to work to pull sufficient clean air through the filter to do its job. Most filters today can accommodate higher MERV or FPR ratings. You may notice that your furnace sounds like it is stressed with the highest MERV/FPR rated filters. Many furnaces will say on the door or some other spot the maximum MERV rating they can handle. When installing this filter, pay attention to the big arrow that appears on the side of the cardboard rim. This arrow shows you which side to point toward your furnace to ensure proper airflow through the filter. One great thing about this filter is that you do not need to change it but once each season, or every three months. It is also a good practice to take a sharpie and circle the month on the cardboard rim that indicates the month you installed/changed the filter. This will help you if you later are unsure of when you last changed your filter.

          Clean air
We have a floor intake for our central heat and air and need two filters. We also have 3 cats, one with very long hair that flies everywhere. The HDX 14 x 14 x 1 Elite Pleated Air Filter FPR 10 does a great job of catching the dust and cat hair and keeping it from entering the air. The pleats catch just about everything that floats around and keeps our air clean. You only need to change them every three months. With other filters we had to change then more often.

          Awesome Filtration & Simple
This air filter did great on reducing the total number of allergens in my homes airs. My air filter recorded fewer uses and less particles in the air after installing. This installs very easily and has the places to circle and date the install date for the filter. This is a great feature for those like me. I would consider this to be good value for the results. This is a good value for what you receive for a more basic filter to reduce allergens. I kept mine in for one month and will be repurchasing

          Excellent Highest Rated Air Filter
The HDX FPR 10 Premium Allergen Filter captures allergens and particles as small as viruses, which is important for people with Asthma and Allergies. Sometimes the heaviest and thickest furnace filters aren't the best for your furnace, always use the correct size. The filter dimensions are 18 X 24 X 1. The FPR Rating of 10 is the highest rating an air filter can receive. HD has a third party rate their air filters based on capturing large particles, ability to capture small particles, and the filters lifetime. This filter is electrostatically charged to captures large particles, small particles and is quality made. It provides (90) days of air flow protection but is based on factors in the home. If you smoke, use fireplace, have pets, leave the windows open, you may need to replace more often. I write the installation date in black magic marker on the bottom of the cardboard. **Never forget to change your filter again and subscribe to home delivery, no membership or shipping, simply scan barcode on the package. Cancel anytime. Important reasons for changing your filter. Increased Energy Efficiency, Better Health (what are you breathing in your home), Increases HVAC Lifespan. Check your filter today! Fantastic Filter
The electrostatic air filter is a awesome and very high quality at a reasonable price. This filter has all the same quality as the major brands but it’s priced much better. It helps control allergens, most smoke, bacteria, dust & lint, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, dust mite debris, and coughing n& sneezing airborn stuff. It’s FPR 9. Give it a try you won’t regret it. I highly recommend this air duct furnace filter

          High filtration, flimsy frame
This filter uses a good, pleated design to add surface area of filtration material, but the cardboard frame is so thin and flimsy that it appears once it starts to clog it will collapse and could get sucked into the blower fan. I will add some reinforcements to prevent its collapsing and hope that it filters as well as the packaging says. It should be a useful addition to remove fine dust in my workshop.

          Well made and very effective
The HDX 16 in. x 20 in. Elite Pleated Air filter is very effective at removing particulates as small as 0.3 micron including a wide variety of contaminants including dust mites and pet dander. This filter is more rigid than many others on the market which increases its efficiency. It traps more than 98% of airborne particles and has a life expectancy of 3 months which makes it a better choice than the less expensive 30 day life cycle filters that are commonly used. I have allergies and this filter has definately improved the air quality in our home.

          Great filters for many years
If there’s one thing in your house that you need to take excellent care of, it’s your HVAC system. And besides the once or twice check by a professional, the duty to protect the fan and ductwork falls upon the owner. Many years ago I learned my lesson about replacing with a good filter. I once saw a neighbors HVAC being replaced. He had used the cheaper filters and replaced them rarely. The HVAC fan blades were so full of dust, it was a miracle they put out any air at all. I had always used high quality HDX filters on mine, so when it needed to be replaced after 40 years, you cold clearly see the difference. The high quality HDX filters eliminate dust and lint, pollens that come in when the windows are open, even allergens and bacteria. The blades on my fan were almost totally clean, which should speak volumes for using quality HVAC filters and changing them regularly. I change mine every three months religiously, and I’m assured they will protect my new HVAC for decades to come.

          Best filter protection
This furnace filter has a pleated material which gives more surface for filtering. This also helps the load of the blower fan. The filter material is the thickest and has a very high rate of filtration. The filter seems to fit fine in my filter compartment. It has markings on the side for Size, air flow direction, and Date Installed. Everything you need. The per unit price is higher than regular filters, so unless you really need a high FPR (Filter Performance Rating), you can save money by buying a more basic filter. This one will work well if you have allergies or want to use your furnace as a whole-house air filtration system. Just remember that you will need to change these more often. So, I recommend buying in bulk if available.

          HDX Replacement filters.
The HDX 20 in. x 20 in. x 1 in. Elite Pleated Air Filter FPR 10 work perfect in my filter holder. Our HVAC tech replaces our filter every 6 months. When the air filter came in, I replaced the filter before the tech arrived. I ask his thoughts and he was impressed with the design and quality of the filter. His company provides FPR8 filters at a higher price and a lower quality than the HDX 20 in. x 20 in. x 1 in. Elite Pleated Air Filter FPR 10. So, I have ordered additional filters online from Home Depot and have them available to swap out every 3 months rather than paying the overpriced HVAC fee for a lower quality filter every 6 months. I was able to take advantage of the Buy More Save More at check out and purchased 12 filters at 50% off. Hopefully that the promotion is still going on when you place your order.

          Great filter that fits perfect
This is a great filter that works great to filter out even the smallest dirt, dust and pollen particles that can wreak havoc on anyone with allergy issues.  This FP9 filter has the pleated design and cleans the air in my home for better air quality.  It has a cardboard frame that holds up well during use and it lasts for ninety days making it quite easy to use.  This fit perfectly in my furnace and is a great replacement filter for my home. The filter is an electrostatic filter to filter out more than many other filters and has extended surface areas which means that it has an increased dust holding capacity and improved efficiency compared to other models.
