Premium filter for health concerns (but with accompanying premium price)
This is a premium filter designed to filter allergens, most smoke, bacteria, mold spores, pollen, and the standard dust particles. It is an “Electrostatic Air Filter.” According to the vendor (HDX), this is their highest level of filtering. Structurally it is well made with wire and cardboard providing rigidity, yet air flow seems easy. I cannot attest to filtering capabilities. Filter provides “up to 90 days airflow performance.”

So many great features....The best ever!!!
One of the bests air conditioner filters I've ever seen.  These new filters are so very well designed, and are superior in every way.  The wire-backed framing materials are electronically charged to increase the dust and germ holding capacities. They only need changing every 3 months, so this makes them even more cost-efficient.  Since I have several cats in my home, the added cleaning capabilities is very much appreciated.  I have always bought my AC filters at Home Depot, and I am more than happy to recommend these to all interested Home Depot shoppers.

This is One of The Good Ones!
This is One of The Good Ones! ... it's not like you haven't seen a zillion of these over the years? Some are made with good stuff and have a certain stiffness that makes installation a lot easier. Some look extra dusty when you change them ... which tells you that they are very good at collecting the particles. Some cost just what you would expect them to cost and fit just right ... and some do all these things. That's what these do ... and we are big fans!

High efficiency filter
I am replacing a less efficient filter in my furnace with this filter. I live on a ranch in the mountains of Northern California. We have lots of pollen in the spring and in the summer and fall we have smoke from wildfires. I am hoping that this FPR 10 filter will take out a lot more of these pollutants than the old cheap filter. The unit was a perfect fit to the filter housing on my HVAC system. I don't mind paying a premium for filters if they give me clean air.

Change your filter to keep system working
Had to change my AC/Heat system for often this year because of fires and strong winds creating a lot of dust. I really like this filter, came with really detailed instructions on how to install. Fits the opening really snug.

    Phenomenal filter!
This is the highest premium rating of this type of replaceable filters. This filter comes electrostatically charged and is both not too restrictive in order to allow proper airflow, but also filters out the smallest allergens, dust particles, dander, pollen, smoke and odors, and everything larger than 0.3 microns. This filter has the highest filtration capabilities and needs to be replaced every 90 days for optimal performance. The actual dimensions are 17.7 x 19.7 x 0.7 inches (45 x 50.1 x 1.9 cm). There is no aroma or scent coming from the filter, the mesh is standard and rigid and the lattice and border frame of is made of sturdy moisture-resistant cardboard. The filter media design is loosely pleated and has great absorption. This filter can be added to subscription delivery which is not only free but also has 5% off. I just subscribed for it and it gives me a peace of mind that every 90 days I will receive a premium filter for my HVAC equipment, I will not forget replacing it, and and I will get the best quality at a very affordable price.

Higher quality filters are definitely better
We changed to these higher grade filters (FPR 10) to help with ultra fine dust stirred up by our active dog and to help with the pet dander he creates. This is one case where getting the best filters has made a difference. While they say these will go for 3 months, we are now using a 2 month rotation as they seem really dirty by 4. So for kids or active pets, forest fires in the area and other extreme conditions, these are worth the extra cost.

    Excellent filters over the years
If there’s one thing in your house that you need to take excellent care of, it’s your HVAC system. And besides the once or twice check by a professional, the duty to protect the fan and ductwork falls upon the owner. Many years ago I learned my lesson about replacing with a good filter. I once saw a neighbors HVAC being replaced. He had used the cheaper filters and replaced them rarely. The HVAC fan blades were so full of dust, it was a miracle they put out any air at all. I had always used high quality HDX filters on mine, so when it needed to be replaced after 40 years, you cold clearly see the difference. The high quality HDX filters eliminate dust and lint, pollens that come in when the windows are open, even allergens and bacteria. The blades on my fan were almost totally clean, which should speak volumes for using quality HVAC filters and changing them regularly. I change mine every three months, and I’m assured they will protect my new HVAC for decades to come.

    Super Filter
According to Home Depot, filters in the “Good” class are rated listed as FPR 4, and they will block pet dander, dust, and pollen. The next tier is the Better represents 6 – 7, but is listed at 7 FPR, and adds protection against bacteria along with mold spores. Therefore, since these are 9, these must be the best! Four dogs and a cat make these a necessity. Living in a dry, dusty climate makes these a necessity. We can actually get about three months out of each filter, but they do get checked monthly just to be sure we aren't over doing it.

    Premium Air Conditioner Filter
This premium filter is rated 10 on a FPR scale of 4 to 10 to remove most air born particles. It is recommended to replace these filters every 90 days but I replace mine monthly as we live in an area where there is a lot of dust in the air. It is made of a electrostatic media in a fiberboard frame with wire reinforcements. This filter is 20 inches wide by 20 inches long by 1 inch thick and has an arrow to indicate the correct orientation for installation to the air conditioning duct. This is my preferred air filter for my home A/C unit.

    Quality HVAC Filter
I normally keep a few extra HVAC filters on hand when the one I am using needs replacing but I was out so I ordered this one. It was very easy to install and fit perfectly. I am bothered by severe allergies so this filter meets my needs. It filters a wide variety of contaminates. It requires replacement every three months and can be reordered through Home Depot's subscription service if you choose.

    Very well made, high quality
The HDX Elite Pleated Air Filter is a high quality filter with an FPR 10 rating. It has a stronger, more stable frame that doesn’t easily bend, bow or twist due to its crisscrossing cardboard strips on BOTH faces, front and back. The wire mesh is also in a tighter pattern providing for more rigidity. You can definitely notice the difference in it and the cheaper variety. The specifications of the filter’s ability to capture contaminants states that it is effective for allergy sufferers which is exactly what I need. It’s actual size is about a quarter inch less in each dimension.

    Nice Air Filter FPR 9
The HDX 20 inch x 24 inch x 1 inch superior pleated air filter with FPR 9 rating fits perfectly in our air conditional return vent. The pleated air filter is made with card board surrounding and special material to capture dust. It's really light weight. It keeps our house air clean of allergens. I have to change it out every 3 months. The packaging tells you how long the different types of filters work and how long they will last.

    Excellent filter for the home
I’m a firm believer in doing maintenance around my home and I consider changing my house filter every 90 days to be part of that maintenance. I have seen to many people try to be cheap by not replacing their filter as often as they should have and they just end up having problems with their HVAC system when it all could have been prevented with a little maintenacne. I find these filters from HDX to be fantastic filters. I have been using them for years. I personally prefer quality over quantity so I don’t mind spending a little more to get a better quality product. We have a dog in the house and sometimes a cat or two depending on what stray has been brought in lately and these filters do a great job of capturing the dog and cat hair. This filter popped right in to my opening with no problems and has worked perfectly. I like to purchase these usually (4) at a time so that I can have a years worth of filters before I have to go back to the store. I hate running to the store every time I need something. If you need a filter for your house I would definitely give these HDX filters a try. You will be very glad you did.

does a good job filtering my air and lasts a long time. good if you have allergies like I
These are a bit pricey but they do last 90 days and do a good job filtering particulates. I have had a lifelong battle with allergies and do what I can to help myself on that front. That means no carpet in the house (all hardwood and tile) and using good filters to keep our air clear. I’ve tried expensive electronic filters too but they are a pain to maintain. Using a good air filter and keeping it changed on schedule is an easier way to make a difference in your air. Averaged out as a monthly cost it is a small price to pay for cleaner air. If you struggle with allergies like I do or just want cleaner air then these might be worth it to you. To me it matters. I wake up sick in the mornings if my allergies get aggravated. It’s not a good way to start the day. So things like is add to my quality of life.

    A Premium Quality Air Filter
I selected this HVAC air filter for two reasons: the way it was made, and the filter performance rating. When my blower is running at any speed the air coming into the unit should be able to pass through the filter without too much resistance. If the MERV or FPR is too high it could damage the HVAC. On the other hand, if it is too low dust/lint contaminants would pass through the filter and build up on the coil(s). This filter fits snugly in the compartment which I modified when it was new as the filter fit too loose allowing air to enter the unit around the edges, thus bypassing the filter. The filter being replaced is rated MERV 12 but with an FPR 9. This is an ideal filter from any perspective. I also like that it is made in USA.

    Good For Allergy Sufferers
It was time to replace my HVAC filter and I was out of replacements so I ordered this one. I normally use the four inch ones but this one claims to filter allergens. Installation was very easy and it fits. The instructions say to replace every ninety days. After using for a few days it seems to work well. There is a thirty day warranty on this product.

Using the HDX 14 in. x 20 in. x 1 in. Elite Pleated Air Filter FPR 10
HDX filters work great I have used them exclusively for a long time. Lately however, I have had an increased nasal sensitivity so I thought the upgrade to a premium allergen filter might help to trap more nuisance particles. The build quality of the filter is pretty regular, a cardboard surround with a steel mesh supporting the filter membrane. Installation is exactly the same as most other domestic air filters and is really easy to do.

    HDX Superior Pleated Air Filter
HDX 16” x 25” x 1” Superior Pleated Air Filter FPR9 This is a very good filter. I have bought these in the past several times and have been very pleased with them. The Superior Allergen pleated air filter does improve your air quality. They have a wire-backing that is electronically charged, which extends surface areas. These filters have a much larger capacity to hold dust. They can capture very small particles as small as 1 micron in size. Great for dust mites debris, pet dander, pollen, dust, lint, mold, bacteria and more. They are very efficient and is a money-saver. The pleated design and extended surface area offers more space to capture airborne contaminants, like bacteria. They are made of moisture-resistant cardboard frame with wire supported media for strength. The longevity is 3 months. That makes it more affordable. They are electronically pleated.. You will see the pleated feature will definitely hold more allergens than most. Like I said earlier, I have used these in the past and can tell you they do a great job. I would recommend these HDX Superior Pleased air filters. This is a great quality product.

    Good Filtration Merv 12 / FPR 10
I was not familiar with the FPR 10 rating so I looked it up and it is a Merv 12 which is a better filtration filter that removes above 90% of air born particles which is good for residential homes. The filter is not actual size it is a little smaller which is what all filters do except the ones that say actual size. The filter has a arrow showing the direction of air flow and should be install correctly or it may not work as designed. This type of filter should be replaced every 3 month's.

    Must have a good filter!
A good filter is a must in your home. We change ours every three months. This filter is the HDX 20x20x1” Elite Pleated Air filter FPR10. This is a Merv 12. The higher the Merv the finer the filter is . So this one would be good if you have serious medical conditions making it difficult to breathe. It is made with a reinforced pleated media designed to capture particles down to the micro particle level. These FPR 10 filters are best suited for capturing particles as small as 0.3 microns in size including dust mite debris, pet dander, pollen, dust and lint, mold spores, bacteria, cough and sneeze particles, most smoke, allergens, odors, and smog particles. So make it a point to change your filters regularly and with a good one, you won't regret it!

    Works very well
Works very well with my current air handler, it really filters out the dust and impurities in the air. It’s also good for filtering out allergens that we are allergic to its electrostatic so it works perfectly. This filter also works for 90 days, so I don’t have to change it every month. You can also get the subscription service, so you can get it delivered in a timely basis. That way when it shows up I know it’s time to change the filter and pump the water from the line with all the impurities.

Fluffier Material Than My Old Filters
Fit and finish of the filter is fine – the dimensions are accurate, and I had no problem in sliding the filter into the filter slot in my furnace. The fabric is thicker (fluffier) than the filter material on my “generic” filter that I had on hand. I couldn’t take a decent photograph that showed the difference in material, but it’s apparent when I run my fingers across the filter. There’s also a calendar area that shows when the replacement is do (see photo below). That’s pretty handy and my previous filters didn’t offer. Of course, I won’t know for 90 days, or until I replace the filter on whether it has trapped more contaminants than my usual filters. Filters are very subjective – sometimes (winter) the furnace is on frequently, drawing air through the filter. Other times, (spring) the furnace isn’t on at all so the filter isn’t being used either. But I’m comfortable in recommending the HDX filter because the feel of the material is that much better over the filters that I typically buy. Made in the USA, and lasts "up to 90 days"; I check mine on the first of each month, just to make sure it's still usable. Clogged filters make for tough breathing on furnaces. HTH Regards, Jim

    HDX Air Filter
I ordered this filter to change out one that had been in my central air unit for ninety days the recommended timeframe to replace. I think HDX filters are a quality product they are reinforced with a wire mesh and are considered a premium allergen filter. Usually I pick up at the store but I ordered this one delivered and it arrived in a damaged box. I managed to straighten out but in future I will pick up at store.

Easy to install, and keeps the air clean!
Turn off the furnace, (switch on the side of mine) and open the cover where the filter is, pull out the old one and slide the new one back in, put the cover back and turn the furnace back on. When you slide it in, there is an arrow on the filter to indicate orientation. The arrow points in the direction of air flow. This is generally toward the blower. I change mine every 6 months. It will depend on your furnace / AC operating time and the "stuff" in the air in the house. MERV - Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (scale from 1-16) FPR - Filter Performance Rating (scale from 4-10) & (developed by 3M for their filters) They are basically the same filtration for the same number.

    A premium allergen filter.
The HDX brand is one of many brands that is sold exclusively at Home Depot. This particular filter has an FPR (Filter Performance Rating) of 10 out of 10 which is considered a premium electrostatic air filter allergen to trap them in the contaminants filter before spreading in the home. This rating is given to the filter by an independent third-party lab. This filter is very well constructed with the familiar filter pleating and wire support for strength. Made in the GOOD OLD USA of quality material. This is a 90-day filter change rotation. Testing in the lab, it was shown to trap allergens, most smoke, cough and sneeze particles, bacteria, odors, dust/lint, pollen, smog particles, mold spores, pet dander, and dust mite debris.
