I'm in love with this product because I move to a house that have recessed light every were and with this adapter I have been able to adapt track lights and place any of my lamps... The best thing is that I don't have to wait and pay for any handy man or electrician... So easy!!! If you need to painted to acomodate the smaller size of fixture you can always do it... What a great fixture!!! Save my life! I'm so proud of my work!

Easy installation..took me about 10 min. I replaced the recessed light with Hampton Bay Saguro 2-Light Flush-Mount Ceiling Fluorescent Light fixture. Price is very good compared with other products in market..

This product allows you to turn an old 6" ceiling can fixture into either a flush mount or pendant fixture. The instructions could be better, especially the illustrations, which are too small and not detailed enough. This product is only sold through Home Depot. There is a product that purports to do the same thing, that is designed differently, that sells for around 4x as much, that is probably no better. You will probably have an easier time of it if you bend inwards the sides of the spring wingnuts, that are the weight bearing part of this installation. That way they will fit easier on the tabs in the can you are converting, and they won't slip off. The instructions say that this device can support up to 25lbs of a hanging or flush fixture. I think that is quite optimistic. I would personally avoid attaching a fixture to this that weighed much more than 10 lbs, installed.

...nowhere on the box does it tell you this device *only* adapts to 6" diameter cans. I didn't discover this until I got home and opened the box and began reading the directions. Long story short, this will not work with 4" can lights. So it's another trip to the "Depot" to return them :-(
