It is a one bulb fixture that puts off a lot of light with just a 60W soft white LED bulb. It looks fantastic in my redone kitchen.

Would be a good light for the price if the glass globe didn't break apart in my hands when I went to change the bulb for the first time. I agree - nice design idea but they didn't pull it off. There are better choices to be made for a light purchase than this one, I wouldn't buy another.

We bought 2 of these and one globe broke while screwing it into the fixture. After reading all the other reviews it sounds like this is a common problem. We opted to return both rather than risk breaking the globe whenever we needed to change a bulb. We were concerned about replacements being available down the road. Bad design, thin glass, not worth the risk

Quality was fine for what it is. Easy to install. Small... Should not be used for large rooms

like to the styling of light fixture, only problem do like too much how globe is held on to fixture, one of the 5 I bought fell off and broke. Mfg. replaced with no problem!

Inexpensive and looks nice. Does not use thumb screws to hold the globe on the fixture like most lights. Globe has grooves and is supposed to thread into the base. Broke about 1/4 of the globes trying to install them. Not a good design, but at the price I couldn't pass them up.

Neede a basic lamp to update for the stock home light put into my new home. This was simple to self install and a great value for the money.

These look great! I was going for a more classic look and they fit the bill. Very easy to put up. the only reason for the 4 stores was that I thought the glass could have been thicker. It is very light weight.

This product is very appealing in terms of style and in terms of pricing. The size is decent as well, which is hard to tell from the box or from a picture. I am very pleased. I haven't installed yet, but I don't foresee any problems with installation.

Installed 5 - two globes broke when lightly screwed - that's right - screwed in. Glass should be 3 times as thick as it is and have the standard attachment - 3 little bolts like a Christmas tree stand. Home Depot replaced whole fixtures - no problem. I'm going to try to order a couple of backup globes from Hampton bay.

I bought this item at our local Home Depot. After installing the base of the fixture, I twisted the globe into place. I turned it gently, carefully, slowly, and heard a "pop". Sure enough, the globe had shattered. I truly didn't apply much pressure and was pretty surprised. I figured I must have gotten a defective globe. Now that I'm here on the site, I'm kicking myself. I really wish I'd read the reviews about the flawed globe design before I put down my time and money to install this thing. Avoid this one, it looks good but it breaks very easily.

I looked for weeks to find a fixture for our renovated kitchen trying not to spend too much. Looking for the 1950 look with 100w capable bulb or 2 bulbs. I'm going to paint an olive green stripe around the globe like old ones. There are expensive ones that have this stripe. This globe is lighter than expensive ones but that's OK with me. I'm using the 100w bulb with dimmer switch.

We bought this light to use in our master bathroom, where a large pendant once hung. It looks great and gives that vintage feel that I was after. A 60 watt bulb even does the trick, though you can go up to a 100 watt. They make this light in a smaller version, I'm thinking of buying more for other areas around the house!

My expectations weren't real high since this fixture is very cheap at $20. It does look nice and was pretty easy to install. Many other reviews state that the glass globe shatters due to heat or over-tightening. I installed this light about 6 months ago and haven't had any problems with the globe breaking. The one major design flaw is that a CFL bulb does NOT fit in this fixture. A 60 watt equivalent bulb is slightly longer than a standard incandescent bulb and with a CFL installed, the bulb hits the bottom of the globe and it will not go on all the way. I tried a few different CFLs, none worked with this fixture. So for the moment, I'm stuck using an incandescent bulb.

I live in a craftsman house built in 1934, and this light goes perfectly. We bought two initially and will be buying a third soon. It was very easy to install and it took me maybe an hour to install both (that includes taking the old fixtures down). I had no issues with the globes. Just make sure you tighten them enough but don't over tighten. I'm very pleased.

Product has a design flaw. The screw-in-globe design is not engineered well and the glass globe easily shatters during installation, or soon there after. Other reviewers attributed breaking soon after installation to heat- which is wrong. Its because the glass neck is put under extreme pressure when screwed in and if it does not seat perfectly and release the stress, it ends up shattering within an hour. Its a nice idea- we need innovation here. The old fashioned three screws to hold on globe is outdated and im tired of cleaning out bugs that get into loose fitting shades. However, this was a good try, but is not the design unless fixed. Keep trying!

I purchased 3 of the medium lights to replace our outdated ceiling lights which are in the hallway. My husband installed all 3 in about 2 hrs..said the installation was very easy. I love the price (under $30) and the look. These lights are in our hallway & on a dimmer, which is nice. Classy look. Very clean lines. GREAT value I really love how this simple changeout has transformed the look of the downstairs. Not sure what other reviews meant about the globe being a problem, but who knows. They are very sturdy...Some people may not be handy :)

This product is prone to fail and the globe breaks. Home Depot sent me a new globe though... that's why we love this store.

We loved this mini flushmount. It's a great priced schoolhouse style light that's perfect for over a kitchen sink. Installation went fine. But after being on for about 10 minutes the heat from the bulb began to crack the glass. We even used a 40w bulb (20W less than the item calls for). So basically it's pretty but not designed well. The globe fits too close to the bulb and then the glass cracks from the heat. Don't waste your time with this one.

I believe I accidentally put this review on the next size 10" wide light. I installed this smaller light about a year ago. It is still over the kitchen sink with no problems. I can see how it would easily shatter or fall if it is tightened too much. The nubs on the glass that screw on need to be bigger and the groves in the metal deeper to catch and stop the twisting. Also a warning regarding over tightening may help. Maybe I just got lucky? I was about to order a couple more for the halls. At this price I may still order considering I haven't had a problem. Ill let you know how it goes. Hopefully they improved the issue people are having.

I Just installed this light today in our kitchen. I love the vintage look of this light. It is very nice looking. It takes one bulb, but due to the large globe size it took a 150W equivalent CFL which is only about 43W I think, but is pretty large. it makes the kitchen nice and bright. The only thing i wasn't crazy about is that the globe has no lip on the glass for the screw to catch. It just flares out. The glass there at the edge could be a bit thicker. I felt as though I had to be very gently when tightening the screws. I would feel more confident that it is secured properly, if there was a thicker lip of glass to tighten the screw around.

I love the vintage look of this light. Was easy to install. Great price.

I purchased the medium sized light first. Easy to install if you understand electricity at all. The "globe" portion screws on as opposed to being held in by the 3-pin system. At first it seems like a good feature because the pin would be hidden. However, once I installed it, my wife and I began to hear little cracking noises. At first I thought it might just be the glass expanding from the heat. Needless to say, when we returned home from work the next day, the globe had shattered all over the floor. Thinking it was just a fluke, I went and bought another one. I was just about to install it when I read all of these review and realized it was a waste of time and money to try again. DO NOT waste YOUR time and money...learn from my mistake!

put in the globe an both times it came off, 1st time electrician screwed in, and caught it just as it was coming off, it caused the globe to break. got a replacement globe, screwed in, and fell shattering into a million pieces. worst part it chipped the new porcelain tub we just installed.

We live 40 miles from a Home Depot store and went to this store specifically to look for 2 hall lights - 1 larger light for an entryway and 1 smaller light for a small hallway off of the entryway. The larger light we got in and are just hoping it won't do the same as the smaller light globe. The first time we installed it and about 2 hours later we heard the globe shatter on the tile. When we went to the store again, we were unable to replace just the globe so we bought another whole fixture. When trying to install this globe, it broke just trying to screw it in (and we could not tell that we were overtightening it). - Bad, bad design.

I installed this light in a kitchen that had a retro 50s style. It was very easy to install. It looks and feels like a quality ceiling light.

I've wanted to replace a couple hall lights for years, but we have one that has very little space for the base to mount. Luckily this one fit! It looks great too, and goes with our 1950 style house. Thinking of getting one more for a different hallway since it's not too expensive and puts out a lot of light since you can go up to 100W.

I am returning my 2nd unit, like other reviews stated globe will break when installing it to base, bad design globe would have to be made stronger for this design to work properly, will not be buying this again
