I have a big dog and he loves paper towels...
I have a big dog and he loves paper towels and napkins and if I am away in the evening beyond an hour, he would try to get into the trash can. So for a while I put something on top of the lid, but he sometimes still got in. However, with the lock on this, he won't get it.

It fits in the kitchen better than our old one...
It fits in the kitchen better than our old one with the swing top. This has a pedal you can open the top or use your hands and open from the handle. It also hold enough garbage so we don't have to empty too often. I'm very happy with my purchase.

For the price, I do believe that is it a good buy. I was replacing a stainless can that was sensor opening and had seen better days. This can was lightweight and narrow, which I really like. It is also really easy to clean.

So far so good -- I've only had it a few hours
Only time will tell if this holds up. But so far it's working. And I can put in garbage bags that hug the edges and don't fall off. I'm just a little skittish about the step-on, how long it will last.

chose Hefty for its name and quality. while at home depot checked other products out but this one stood out with craftsmanship. So far so good, hope to have this trash can for a long time.
