Henry 107 Asphalt Emulsion is a thixotropic mixture meaning that the more it is stirred the thinner it gets to a point. If you did get a pail that was dry we hope you returned it to the Home Depot for a refund. It appears in this case that you purchased a pail that missed being rotated. Thank you for your comments and for putting your trust in the Henry Co and the Home Depot.

jc808, we are sorry to hear about your issue with the 107 Asphalt Emulsion washing off your roof. When applying Henry 107 you need to have the correct conditions for it to cure properly. You need temperatures that stay above 50 degrees for 24 to 48 hours, no threat of rain or high humidity for 48 hours for it to dry properly. The curing process is the evaporation of the water content in the product and high humidity slows the process down so that it may take much longer to dry.

mislabled
The website states it's good for wood, but the can says "not recommended for plywood". Also, the roll roofing Cap from GAF specs ASTM D41 primer. Not only does Home Depot not carry any D41, the Henry 107 product isn't really correct for most roofs which are usually plywood. Any help from HD, Henry, or GAF to sort this out would be appreciated.

Fred, Henry 107 Asphalt Emulsion is formulated to work on wood posts or the inside of wooden planters but it is not made for use on plywood. For the primer to use with GAF cap sheet you should contact the GAF web site. Henry 107 is not made to be the primer for GAF products.
Emulsion bad batch, then pail of good contents.
Bought one pail at HD on Thunderbird, it was bad and two of the other containers we checked were also bad, so I assume the whole lot is bad since the lot numbers are all similar. After returning it, bought another pail at a different HD on Cave Creek & Cactus. The pail bought at the CC&C store had a date code of Sept 2022, I bought it. The contents were proper quality and I installed it.

    seal unflat flat roof
I was using this on a unflat flat roof. Years ago I applied Henry 287 I believe from memory. The roof was in good shape but has sunk where ponding is an issue. I wanted to reduce ponding by raising some areas with torch down bitumen type wide shingle material. From forums, reviews, and talking to people it looked like the only thing to stand up to ponding was silicone sealant. Ponding is only to last no more than 48 hours. Since I applied the acrylic and was doing torch down I was told the only thing that would make torch down stick was resealing the roof or put down a primer material. Since the acrylic is like a paint and would lift if getting hot I decided to put on two coats of Henry 107. I did this and it seemed to go on okay. Tried torch down bitumen material to raise the low spots on the roof, but is was going to take too many layers to be effective and did not go well. I recoated the torch down with Henry 107 and let it dry. I then applied a competitors silicone sealant. Henry also sells the sealant. How this will hold up is to be seen. I applied it in September of 2022. It has only been a couple weeks for this review. It does look like the roof sealed well with both Henry 107 and the silicone sealant. The 5 gallon bucket that Henry 107 came in had left over sealer and it got pretty hard and would not chip off easily from the bucket. Hopefully this is the same for the roof. It did not seem very fexible on the roof or left over in the bucket after drying. The roof looked like it sealed well with all application of products. Time will tell how this all works. I applied this using a three knot brush. I applied the silicone sealant using a 3/4 inch knap roller.

spraymistyforme, that was a lot of steps to seal a ponding water issue. Since Henry 887 TropiCool is permanently ponding water resistant and waterproof it could have saved you a lot of steps by coating the ponding area with 887. The application of 107 as an adhesive may be problematic when warmer weather arrives since it is not an adhesive and will soften slightly in the heat.
