Not As Bad as Some Reviews
Love the product. There does seem to be a sizable manufacturing problem. I ordered 3 cases and was only able to use 2 and 1/2 as roughly the equivalent of 1/2 of a case came out of the box unusable. This half had substantial scratches and dings. At $100 a case, there should be no defects. Surface color is also VERY SHALLOW, so even a scratch 1/32" has a chance of defacing the product.

High maintenance floor avoid dark colors!
The flooring is beautiful but noisy and very high maintenance. The dark color shows all marks and scratches easily. Less than one week after install and already multiple scratches. Had I known this I would have opted for lighter color. Installation is in basement so really not a big deal but would not recommend for high traffic areas. We will be getting area rugs and investing in a sharpie marker to try and cover the scratch marks.

    Beautiful flooring!
We installed this flooring ourselves in our living room and kitchen, approximately 600 sq ft. The quality of the product is fantastic, but you do pay a premium for that quality. Installation is very simple. We used the premium 3-in-1 underlayment on a concrete slab. We started to glue the pieces together in high traffic areas and in the kitchen. A couple of things to note. The floor will make creeky noises but that seems to minimize after time. We have one area where the floor dipped down somewhat and we get flexing and more noise in that area. Gluing the pieces together with tongue and groove adhesive would have probably prevented that. The bamboo is VERY hard so your table and miter saws will take a beating. Mix up the boxes sufficiently because the colors can vary but the variation actually makes the floor look very nice. It doesn't scratch very easily but it won't look perfect forever. It wears very well and is fairly water resistant. I LOVE my floors and would buy this product again in a heart beat. The only thing I would change is that I would glue all the pieces together. Our floor has been installed for 4 months.

      Avoid at all costs
I never, ever write reviews, positive or negative, but I feel compelled to do so to warn others. I have rarely been so disappointed in any purchase, ever. I rank this as perhaps the worst purchase I have ever made. First, the floors look and feel cheap, and nothing like the store sample. They look and feel like plastic -- no better than Pergo or laminate. Second, and more importantly, these floors have no durability whatsoever. They scratch with just the slightest pressure. I bought these floors because they were solid wood, thinking they would withstand this type of thing, but they don't. The flooring contractor, electrician, and other people working at my house said they've never seen anything so terrible. And these are not inexpensive -- I thought at $5/sq ft this was right in the middle and should have been of at least decent quality. Given my experience, I would just as soon have gotten decent laminate for $2/sq ft. I live by myself and can't imagine what would happen if I had kids or a dog. I'm afraid to even throw a housewarming party, they are that bad. I can't imagine what they will look like in 6 months, let alone a year. I can't really comment on installation, since I had a contractor install them, but he did note that they were extremely hard and went through a couple of saw blades. I've completely wasted $13K on an objectively substandard product. Perhaps I got a bad batch, but I doubt it. I contacted Home Legend, who at first told me that "bamboo is a grass, and soft, and I should expect this." This is patently untrue, as bamboo is harder than pretty much every hardwood. They are sending out an inspector/adjuster, and I will update any progress on that end, but I am not optimistic. Home Depot and Home Legend should stand by their products, especially for one that is so substandard.

      Flooring scratches very easily.
This flooring installs very easy, but it also scratches very easily. Within a day of installation there were numerous large scratches in the finish. The undercoating appears to be a light color (white or grey) to the sctraches really show through the finish. We are very dissatisfied with this product. We are working through the claim process with Home Depot so there is not a resolution to this problem at this time.

Solid, beautiful product and easy installation.
Very good consistency in color and pattern. The solid bamboo is very hard (dense) so it is difficult to really damage it. However, the finish and color is very thin so superficial, but noticeable, scratches are easy to make. Also it makes a little noise as the planks move on one another over the underlayment. Overall we are very pleased with our new floor!

      Snap, Crackle, and Pop
Our finished floor is beautiful and we are extremely happy with how this espresso floor enhanced the space. However, there are a few negatives that potential buyers should be aware. We installed 450 sq ft over a 4mm felt underlayment. After walking on this “floating” floor for about two days we could no longer tolerate the snap, crackle and pop with every step. This flooring is extremely noisy. I took up the whole floor, stacking the boards in reverse order so I could put it back down in proper order. I put the floor back down with 1 ½ inch staples. However, because this flooring wasn’t designed to be nailed/stapled down (like a typical tongue and groove floor), using staples presented its own challenges. Our decision to even attempt using staples with this flooring was a last ditch effort to salvage the money we spent on the purchase. This is beautiful flooring, but only purchases it if you don’t mind the snap, crackle and pop with each and every step. Also, while the flooring is very hard, it is not very difficult to scratch the espresso finish. I found that a black permanent marker covers minor scratches fairly well in a pinch, but the Minwax Ebony wood finish stain marker does even a better job.

      Great product horrible Delivery service!!
This product is very durable compared to hand scraped version of the bamboo. Worth the extra money!! I tested both items and found a noticeable difference when i dropped a coin from 2 ft on the samples. I am glad i took the time to do this the hand scraped version dented sooo easily. The floor goes together great with no complaints. The only complaint i have is shipping Reddaway shipping is the worst experience i have ever had!! THEY MAKE APPOINTMENTS AND SHOW UP ANOTHER DAY AND BLAME YOU FOR NOT BEING THERE. I can understand a mix up but 3 times really?? Home Depot I hope you read this review and dump that company or at least the Fontana hub location.

Great Looking But Can't Stand the Creaking!
We installed this floor over a long weekend in our master bedroom and although it looks fantastic, it creaks like crazy. We've installed floating floors in our current house and in other houses, so we know what we're doing, our subfloor is level (we installed this over the existing hardwood floor), and we used the underlayment recommended by Home Depot, but every step we take (or our dogs take) on the floor causes it to *creeeeak"! Not good! I think it must be the design--there seems to be a little give downward in the click-and-lock design that Home Legend uses. Needless to say, we're very disappointed.

      Beautiful flooring with rich color.
I chose this floor because of the color and texture of the wood. And also for the hardness level, which is 5. I picked up several samples at Home Depot and I hit each of them with a hammer. This flooring didn't dent at all! I needed it quickly and HD delivered it quickly. My sons laid the 16' X 20' floor in 1 1/2 days. Since it was just put in a week ago, I don't know how it will wear in the long run. If it gets too scratched, it can be sanded and refinished twice. Definitely worth the money!

      Looks Great!
We just had home depot install the sapelli in our living room. It looks better than I expected. It has a nice dark shade, throughout. Everyone thinks it's a wood floor.

        WOW!! This flooring is gorgeous!
I purchased and installed this woven bamboo flooring in my lower level (on grade) which has a concrete slab. I installed this flooring myself and it was an easy DIY project. The most difficult part of this job was cutting around doorjambs and pipes in the floor. The click & lock system is extremely easy to snap together and install. It goes down very quickly once you get the first row in place. This walnut color is absolutely gorgeous – a very rich color. Once down, this flooring is very solid feeling when you walk on it. Most floating floors feel like they are floating or feel hallow (to me). This flooring is so solid and thick on top of the 3 in 1 moisture barrier that the flooring feels like real hardwoods under your feet. Although this was my first hardwood flooring project, I thought it was easy and went quickly. I installed 280 sqft (small room, small closet, and small bathroom) in under 2 days. I’m already planning to install this flooring in my upstairs bedrooms. Absolutely thrilled with my new lovely hardwood floors!
