This mid-quality air filter works pretty well for us. We have two American Eskimos in the house, so because of their hair we replace once a month. The frequency makes it too expensive to but the higher quality filters, so these work pretty well. Even with the dogs, our air is clean and no odors are in our house (as confirmed by guests). Sometimes these types of filters come in a value 3-pack. Check for those as it can save you some money when THD has those available, which is often.

I have used the competitor filter comparable for many years. I was in Home Depot picking up the last items for a kitchen remodel that has been ongoing for several weeks and thought of new air filter. The dust from the sanding, drilling, grinding and general construction has been swirling in the house atmosphere for weeks. When I got to the filter isle though I didn't see competitor, but a Honeywell brand that was packaged similarly and purchased it. When I installed the new filter, the difference was immediately apparent. Honeywell scrimped on the weight of the paper used to make the cardboard border. It could not maintain its structural integrity when pressed into service by the air volume sucked through the 24x24 opening. Unlike competitor filter's substantial border, Honeywell's lightweight paper collapsed along the sides allowing unfiltered air to bypass the filter altogether. It is going back tomorrow and I'll find a competitor replacement elsewhere.

These are the worst filters I have ever seen. Probably why they are discontinued. Someone should really fix this..

I ordered these online and it looks like they were manufactured in Mexico. The quality of the filters were very low - not the same as I have found in the store for the same brand and FPR rating. Probably will not use them.
