My other dehumidifier didn't work like this one. This one dries out my basement in days and no mold is growing anywhere. One problem I keep having is if the unit is moved it stops automatically draining to the outside so I have to empty the bucket and it doesn't reset so I unplug it then plug it back in to reset the unit if I don't do this it will keep displaying E5 which is empty the bucket.

Honeywell TP50WK dehumifier was defective or DOA
The Honeywell dehumidifier was unpacked & started registering 49% humidity- then set to dehumidify to 35% humidity. Our ducted HVAC system registered 51%. The Honeywell ran for over 4 hours, but began to register INCREASING humidity while our HVAC system stayed at 51 to 52%. At 4 hours the "powerful" Honeywell had only 1/2 cup of water in the reservoir & now registered 58% humidity. Also, bottom of the shipping box had been cut open & reattached with straps. Unit Shipped defective?

    Poor engineering
Love the idea of the pump, but the bin fills up and the pump only takes one inch of water off the top! Customer service says that is the way it is engineered. Also, the pump tubing comes so tightly bound that there is a major crimp every 6 inches that stay permanent- I would never trust it, and once again, customer service says “engineering” knows about the problem but has not fixed it. All they would have to do is coil the same tubing without binding it into a tight bundle! I used good tubing I had from my old dehumidifer.

We are sorry for any convenience caused to you because of this dehumidifier. When the water tank is full (2.5L), the water will hit the float and trigger the pump to be switched on. After 4 minutes, it will release 0.4 litres water (around 100ml /min). The pump will then turn off and wait for the next round. The continuous drain hose comes wound inside the box, and will be straightened out after a couple of times of use, and that should not pose any issues. Our customer support team will nevertheless, be ready to assist and troubleshoot any concerns for you. Please call us at 1-800-474-2147 between 8:30 and 5:30 PM EST (Monday through Friday) or send us an email at usinfo@jmatek.com, with the reference code number THC0605. It works wonders in the house on these muggy days I use it to make thw gouse much more comfortable. I use the air conditioning less as well which is a plus plus in my book. Easy to operate, clean the filter and empty the tank when full. I saw reviews that the water tank should be bigger but then that would comprise the size of the unit. Good product for your money and I'm glad I purchased it. I would definitely recommend.

It works exactly the way it should. Set up was super easy and very intuitive. It's not too noisy. It cycles on and off as needed to keep the humidity level within four degrees of the set point. It was delivered on time.

I decided to purchase the dehumidifier to assist the a/c in drying the air during the hot muggy days. I selected the Honeywell unit because of its overall high star rating, clean lines, easy to maintain/operate, and silent running. It has been operating for a week and performs as advertised.

The water tank is too small
I decided to get this dehumidifier after reading reviews that other brands do not last as long and this is highly recommended. It’s sleek and rolls well, it puts out a significant amount of heat and converts humidity to the tank quickly. The tank is way too small though. It has to be constantly monitored as within a few hours, the machine shuts off until the the little tank is emptied allowing humidity again to concentrate. Also if it is AT ALL not level, it spills water out onto the floor. My house is older and floors aren’t perfect. I now have stains on my carpet as well as a water spot on my hardwood from this. Last note: as soon as the water tank Is full, the machine reads a very high humidity. It is very unlikely that it would go from 45-80% in 10 minutes.

        So far, so good!
Nicely designed unit. Operates quietly and the large humidity display on the front of the unit is a nice feature. Hooking up the drain line was easy. The 5 year warranty was the deciding factor for the purchase of this unit since my last one (Frigidaire) only lasted about a year.

            Easy Set-Up
Arrived 2 days after ordering. Super easy to set up, simply unpack and add cord winders that’s it very portable on wheels. I recently had mold remediation and it was recommended I get a dehumidifier. I grew up on all things Honeywell and this does not disappoint!

Best Dehumidifier We Have Ever Owned!
So far, I have to say that we are very impressed with the Honeywell 70 Pint Dehumidifier with the built in pump. A couple of years ago, we learned that we were having humidity problems in our home when conduit condensation literally melted through part of our basement ceiling. After three years with a different brand's loud, ugly model, we started looking for a better solution (aka not buying just anything as an emergency response). During our hunt, a work friend of mine recommended the Honeywell 70 Pint Dehumidifier with the built-in pump. I will be blunt, I didn’t really get why we needed the pump but when my husband (an engineer) saw the product on Amazon, he told me to order it immediately since he thought it would fix all of our problems. Boy was he right! Typically, we have a dehumidifier running 24/7 as much as possible during the summer months – one built-in in the basement and one upstairs. After the ceiling incident, our A/C guy recommended we never let the humidity get above 50% or it would probably happen again. Even with their professionally installed dehumidifier in the basement, our upper floors would typically stay at 60% if we used nothing more, and the upstairs (noisy) one struggled to maintain 47 – 50% humidity in our 2400 square foot home. After setting up the Honeywell 70 Pint Dehumidifier with the built in pump for a little over a day, we had something happen that baffled us – the dehumidifier was running with just the fan. We at first thought something was wrong until we looked at the unit and our home thermostat – our humidity was at 39%! This has literally never happened during the summer since we purchased our house. All of this within a 24 hour period! After a week of running in our home, the air quality in our home is even better, with me not needing some of my allergy medications (I work from home so that's mostly where my allergies trigger). It isn't an exaggeration to say it thoroughly beat our expectations. What I have to say is another major plus is the built in pump. Not having to constantly worry about emptying the bucket twice a day has been a major relief - the pump just drains through a line into our first floor bathroom sink. I want to say this happened about 3 to 4 times the first day (before it had lowered the upstairs humidity), and has dropped to 2-3 times a day after that. It activates for less than 30 seconds, but I won't lie, the unit is a bit loud for that time. However, compared to hauling and dumping the old one's bucket - and hoping it doesn't spill while moving through the house - it's just so much better. The only "drawback" is that I no longer have a bucket of water ready for watering my deck flowers – darn! Setting up the drain line for the pump was the hardest part of the entire setup - quite literally screwing the hose to the back. Empty the box and the parts in the bucket, position, and go (5 minutes or less for everything). Overall, the Honeywell 70 Pint Dehumidifier with the built in pump might be the best $350 we ever spent on our home and health. It is stylish, performs above our expectations, and runs fairly quiet compared to our old dehumidifier (which is impressive when we moved it to our two story open hallway with echo issues). After turning off our other units, we're saving time and money, AND enjoying peace of mind when we travel, knowing humidity will no longer be an issue in our home!

So far, so good- warning about the "rebate"
So far the unit is working well to dry out the basement. Warning about the supposed "rebate". What they don't tell you (after I spent an hour or so on the phone with DTE) is that they won't just recycle a single Dehumidifier to give you the rebate- you MUST provide either a full sized fridge or a freezer WITH it (thus no rebate). I was very disappointed as you can imagine that they weren't up front about this on the home depot site or the DTE site when you check out the info for the rebate. I had to call and the wait time was pretty bad. As for the unit, it is draining into my basement drain as it should and drying out the basement well. I am just having a terrible time getting the WI-Fi part of it hooked up. This will probably take another day and several more hours to fix this.

Very poor auto drain design. Hose provided is smaller than outlet such that the hose outlet is above the drain outlet allowing water to accumulate inside machine and drain to bucket before it can drain out the hose. Manual recommends raising front 1/2"-1" when this happens. Raising 1/2" is relatively easy but not effective. Rasing 1"is impossible if you want to maintain any stability unless you make a special bracket or stand which I fabricated temporarily. This slows down the accumulation inside, but does not stop it so you have to dump the bucket less often. Finally after many adjustments water started leaking on floor after several days. Hose fitting was tight and not leaking. After frequent observation discovered water inside would accumulate on the top of the drain tank splash guard. After several days this would spill over and leak down along the interior side of bucket out through some openings in the base. I guess they designed interior drainage for just this condition. After several weeks, gave up and returned.

I replaced a similar unit that lasted as long as any other dehumidifier these days. Unfortunately they don't last like they used to. These units are reasonably quiet. It does get a bit louder while the fan kicks up during the defrost mode. I expect I will buy another one when this one dies.

                    I'm not impressed.
The power cord is so short it limits where you can plug in the dehumidifier. The continuous drain hose doesn't unkink for proper drainage. I had to use a different hose that was more flexible. I set the dehumidifier at high speed fan and 30% humidity. After 4 hours, the humidity level is 44 to 48% and the hose and the tank are bone dry. We'll see what happens overnight. Our basement is only about 400 sf; the temp is well within 41 - 89 degrees F.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you, Susan! The length of the power cord is 2 feet. You can place the unit on a raised platform if it does not reach the desired power point. The auto drain pump tube needs to be unrolled and then connected to the dehumidifier. We do not recommend using an alternate drain tube.
There could be multiple reasons for the dehumidifier to not function as expected, such as :1. The humidity level setting is too high. 2. A door or window is open, letting in new moisture. 3. There are other sources of humidity in the room (e.g. boiling water in pot). 5. The temperature in the room is too low or too high. The dehumidifier is designed to operate between 41°F (5°C) and 89°F (32°C). 5. The dust filter is dirty/blocked. Air outlet or intake is blocked.

After initial installation, allow 24 hours to maintain desired dryness.

This unit removes quite a lot of water from the air. I have it running 24/7 in my living room which connects to the dinning and kitchen area as well. I leave the bedroom doors open in my ranch home and it covers the entire house. It cycles on and off and I dump the water reservoir (about 18 pints) twice daily with it set at 50-55%. It does have a pump feature which we have not used due to location and access to a near enough drain. When it fills, it pees three times and then shuts down, so issue with overflow. The only issue I find is that it tends keep running well below what I set it for. So sometimes I need to adjust the humidity level up 5% in order to keep it from going too low. But overall, I am very happy with the unit. Our skin feels better, my sons acne is reduced and I have less congestion in my nose. If living in a humid area like Florida, this is a must. Much more effective than Damp Rid in larger spaces.

Good product, manufacturer honored its warranty.
This highly-rated appliance began acting erratically about five months after installation. The manufacturer honored the five-year warranty, I had wasted $45 on the Home Depot/Allstate extended warranty. Manufacturer worked with me via email o run several tests and then replaced the dehumidifier with an identical item at no cost for shipping. Do not buy the Allstate warranty -- it is useless when the manufacturer is honorable. Home Depot would not accept the disabled item for recycling.

Not really pleased with this dehumidifier. I cannot get it to settle on a programmed humidity. I set it on 65% and it drops down into the mid fifties. It just keeps running. The filter light keeps coming on and the filter is clean. My basement is less than 1200 sq ft, well within the parameters.I really miss my Kenmore model which operated flawlessly.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you because of this dehumidifier. There is a 5% threshold when the desired humidity setting has been reached. The compressor will shut off once the relative humidity is 5% lower than your desired setting. The fan will continue to run for up to 6 minutes to cool the motor and will then shut off. Operation restores once the relative humidity is 5% higher than your desired setting. That might explain why you feel that the unit keeps running.
The filter alert should not come on, till the filter needs cleaning. Our customer support team will be able to look into all your concerns and troubleshoot for you.
