It did require my wife to completely disassemble the fan to get to the wiring on an already-mounted fan. It may have taken less time had it been a new fan that still required mounting.

Bought new one (remote and receiver) to replace old one that failed. New one works fine but is identical to one that failed with only 1 year of light use. Receiver became intermittent and then total failure. Now havec2 working remotes

So simple to use. Just put in a battery and click on the remote for desired setting. Had same remote for 3 years in previous home. Moved and had to buy a new fan and remote. Back to Home Depot for both. Remote had to be ordered, but worth the wait. So easy to operate.

Control worked fine after difficult startup.

i was dissapointed to see that the product was not as i had expected.in the pictures the product looks classy but in reality looks very blant.

This is the third Hunter ceiling fan that I have added this remote to. It has work flawlessly for the last two years with my first two ceiling fans. Am considering adding to my fourth ceiling fan.

Assembled after the fan had already been installed, but was easy to change it out as there was plenty of space in the housing unit. Works great and the dimming works with the LED bulbs I used. Very happy except that it makes me lazier than I was afore .........

I had an issue with this remote controlling both of my fans. The other fan, #1, had a older remote. The older remote controlled its fan as expected. This Hunter control operated both fans/lights. I powered down both devices and disconnected the receiver at the fan and pull the battery out of both remotes for 10 hours. Powered down fan 1 &2 receivers. Powered fan1 receiver up paired. Powered fan 1 receiver down, powered fan 2 receiver up and paired. Remote 1 (older) worked as expected, this Hunter remote operated both fans/lights. I removed both receivers to ensure the fans were operating properly, they were. I followed the repairing 12 times to reset to no avail. I finally called Hunter support. Because I could not give them a Hunter fan model number they would not provide any support. They claim these "Universal"remotes are only usable in Hunter fans. I will never buy another Hunter product.

Was fairly easy to install. Might be difficult for someone that isn't familiar with how to take a ceiling fan apart.

This product was not what I wanted. The product description was misleading. All I needed was the hand held unit to use in addition with the one I already had for my installed fan. I did not need the electronic module that was included.

I rate this 2.5 stars. In the picture it appears to be a nice matte metallic gold color and made of maybe a metal material. In reality it is cheap plastic, and doesn't look anything like what is pictured sadly. It does its job well, but for $45.00 I would expect a little higher quality. I went with this remote because I felt like it looked a lot classier than most other fan remotes, but I wouldn't advise anyone else to do that. One positive is that they threw in the mounting bracket for it so I will screw that into my nightstand and keep the remote hidden from view in there.

Very easy to set up.

All I needed was the actual remote, but I also received the transceiver unit to be installed inside the ceiling fan. We already have the ceiling fan and light kit with the transceiver. I just need a new universal remote.

This product works nicely to replace a defective remote control on a 6 year old Hunter fan. It performs exactly as advertised. I would give it five stars except for the instructions. The wiring diagram shows that the blue wire on the receiver goes to the blue wire on the fan. This remote control is supposed to be universal. I am installing it on a Hunter fan and even so my fan has NO blue wire. I made the assumption that the black wire with a white trace was the equivalent to a blue wire and everything worked fine. I think that since my Hunter fan is only 6 years old and of the same brand as the controller that they could have shown other combinations of wiring colors that were possible. The other thing that the instructions state is that it is important to pull the chain on the fan until it is on high speed before syncing the remote control to the fan. How are you supposed to know when the fan is on high without operating the control to turn the fan on??

Installation instructions were a bit confusing. After install, unit seems to be working fine.

Easy to install and no codes to set. The receiver is paired to the transmitter at the factory which eliminates any worry of activating a fan in a different room.

The reason I purchased this Hunter remote is I have Hunter fans. I have 4 hunter fans all installed 1 year ago, one of them failed thats why I purchased a new remote. Its very difficult to install the antenna part. Both the antenna part and the handheld remote is made very CHEAPLY, HENCE THE FAILURE I EXPERIENCED. And of course its made in China with cheap parts. The package from Home Depot arrived on time and no damages whatever. The reason I ordered the remote on line is when I went to Home Depot they were out of them. No doubt others experienced the same problem hence the outage.

Good remote. Works great with hunter fan, assume it would be just as easy with any fan.

We bought two controls for 3 fans (one controls one fan; one controls two fans). They both work well. I noticed that the 2 fans on one control work just fine, but the middle fan speed is slower than the middle fan speed on the one-to-one fan. Not a biggie, just an observation. We didn't install these, but the guy that did had no problem; I don't know what he did to make one control work for 2 fans, but they are on one switch. I also like that the controls are small. We aren't using the wall-mount holders, but they could be handy. Personally would prefer a white color, or more cream (these are putty/concrete blah), but no big deal.

Easy to pair,works well and looks good on the wall!

We purchased two of these to be installed with a pair of Hunter 52in Caicos fans installed on a back patio porch. We wanted wet rated fans even though the porch is covered. These remotes were easy to install and have worked beautifully. They have good Bluetooth range and have worked flawlessly. We set up one to work both fans and the other to work just one. Universal remotes can work but I believe Hunter remotes are easier to pair with Hunter fans.

Works great with my new Hunter fan and showed the same day as the fan.

We have many ceiling fans, and have always come back to this remote control device..it is now the only one we will use. Home Depot has it online, once ordered got here quickly and in perfect condition. I would highly recommend this product...and online shopping with the Depot easy and efficient.

This remote came with a new Hunter fan....lasted about 3 months. Took it out and rewired fan, now fan workes....no remote. Key word here being CHINA!
